SUPPER CLUB - Feb2nd - GROUND HOG DAY!
Posted: Wed Feb 02, 2022 6:13 am
Good morning, everyone!
Today is ground hog day. Let's see what the REAL Phil has to say about spring. Crossing fingers! Though, being in Texas since before Thanksgiving, I have to say, it hasn't been too hard a winter for us!
Yesterday I did five loads of laundry - clothes (and not a moment too soon!) - and today I'll do bedding and towels. I also have a load of rugs to wash = our goofy dog likes to paw the rugs into a wrinkled pile to sleep on. Our dirty, long-haired dog. He has 3 rugs on either side and and at the foot of the bed in the trailer. They are getting pretty rank! I also put a lot of stuff away that came into the house from the trailer and pieced a backing for a lotto quilt top I put together while in TX. Then we had an impromptu Italian dinner out with friends. So nice to sit in a real restaurant again!! We haven't done that for a long time. I had cannelloni and Bill had spaghetti. And we both brought some home so we'll be eating leftovers tonite.
Later this morning we're going into Tacoma. Bill wants to get the oil changed in the pick-up, we're going to drop my sewing machine off for a well-deserved spa treatment, and then my favorite LQS, Trains, is having a mid-winter 40% off sale (batiks and WOW's not included) so it would be rude to Donna, the owner, not to stop by, don't you think, just to see what she's got . . . .
CAROL - how big is this quilt you are quilting?
JANA - I hope Sarah's vertigo goes away soon. I think Chickie can attest to it being difficult to live with. Sharona's son also was left with vertigo for 2 full months after having Covid.
LORI - what did you sew with friends yesterday? We live close to a high school with a lot of kids walking by our house. We finally learned to never mail anything from our mailbox because the kids were stealing any cards we mailed. One reason we finally got a PMB at the UPS store. Of course, now my magazines are missing! lol!
BECCA - wise to get your errands done before the snow hits. Is it aiming for you? I hope it doesn't delay Denise and Mark. Your orange cake sounds kind of yummy!
Well we didn't have our sausage scramble last night since we had that spontaneous supper with friends, Doyle and Susie, and we probably won't tonite either since we both brought leftovers home from the restaurant. I'll make a salad to add to our menu and we'll eat that scramble tomorrow night.
What are you having tonite?
