SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Jan 4
Posted: Tue Jan 04, 2022 5:15 am
Good morning,
Chilly, but nice morning here. Going to about 75*. Purrfect! Yesterday I got a short start on my Starry Night Nativity quilt. It's going to be a challenge for sure. But if I could teach myself paper piecing and do the LOTR, then I can do this. I hope. Then there was music in the "clubhouse" here in the park. The clubhouse is cavernous! I counted the 6-person round tables - about 45. Only 11 were occupied. Plus a HUGE dance floor. The music was top notch and Bill and I danced about 80% of the songs. I was wishing Velda was there to refresh our memories on a few dances that we used to be able to do in our sleep, but after 10 years, we've forgotten many of the steps. Anyway, we had great fun for two hours and were able to keep pretty much to ourselves with our friends.
Today's plan is to work some more on Starry Night. I WILL figure this pattern - and special ruler - out!
TINA - I hope the cleaning comes to an end soon. Do you have any idea how tired I am reading of all you're doing?? lol! Though I have to say, I'm giving serious consideration to cleaning the cabinet doors in this trailer. I usually do it about once a year, generally towards the end of a long stay somewhere when I'm starting to get antsy. Praying for your dad. I'm with Jana - give that brother and SIL a couple of good hard Gibbs slaps!!
CAROL - Christmas trees and all their ornaments are great playthings for young kitties! lol! She probably is now wondering where you hid her new toys! I hear ya on thread! I brought one and a half 2,500 yd cones with me and both are nearly out. Bill has appt to get rock chip fixed in windshield Thursday in McAllen, 15 miles west of us and there is a great quilt shop there (I was told) so I'll be dropping off there to replenish my thread supplies. and maybe a few other supplies as well.
JANA - hope you were able to get your groceries OK. We've always had 4WD vehicles. You only need it once to make it worthwhile! Sounds like you are making good use of yours! Your poor hand! I hope it's better today. The good folks at Michaels are kind enough to send me an e-mail every morning with the items they are featuring on sale. This morning it was storage containers - 3 different sizes - 50% off. You might check them out. Plus, we often find containers at thrift shops, though with Covid, not sure you want to brave them just on the off-chance you might find what you are looking for. I've really cut back on my forays into them since Covid hit.
BECCA - you're cleaning cabinets, too! You really have me looking at mine - after almost 7 weeks, some of it out in the dessert, some in wind blown pollen, I can see I need to get on this bandwagon, too! Sigh. O-kaaaay . . . .
Our supper tonite is going to be yankee dip sandwiches. Only we couldn't find hoagie rolls in the store so we're going to do them with hamburger buns instead, but still dip them into the Au Jus sauce. And I think I'll make a green salad. I have a few nice veggies to use up.
What's the plan for the rest of you?
