SUPPER CLUB - New Year's Day, 2022

Yikes - another new year! They seem to be rolling by faster and faster. But the past two years couldn't be gotten rid of quickly enough! Here's to a new, happy, and HEALTHY New Year for us all! Fireworks are legal here and we listened to SEVEN HOURS of booms until 1am. Poor Scottie and Foxy. They were totally freaked. We tried snuggling them up but they would break free and pace and whine. Now they are both napping, making up for lost sleep. Sigh. Not me!
We never made it to the LQS (the Cotton Cupboard) yesterday. Well, we got there, but they didn't. I guess they took NYE off. Rats. Will start researching quilt shops in south Texas, I guess. But we did get the laundry and grocery shopping done. Autumn & Antonio are coming out this afternoon. We'll celebrate her birthday a week early and say our good-byes. But at least, sad as I am to leave her, at least we're leaving her happy now. Before Antonio, we could see how unhappy she was and it broke my heart to leave her in Texas. We'll be on the road as soon as it's light tomorrow and we get hitched up.
BECCA - you work awfully hard! I hope today is a day of rest for you. Enjoy your embroidery. Between you and Lois, I'm starting to feel a new project beginning to bubble up. It's probably just as well the LQS was closed yesterday! lol!
TINA - Bill doesn't think I need help spending money. I do pretty well all by myself, though there have been a few times you've saved my quilty bacon, I'll admit! lol! Is all the cleaning and rearranging done now? Can we sew, guilt free now?
JANA - Love that picture! I have a similar one of our yard from our security cameras. When I get too hot here, I look at it to cool me off! I bet Matt's loving being able to play with his toys and help the neighbors to boot! When we move our heavy furniture we put those little carpeted gliders under the feet. You can easily push everything around with those. Do you know yet when you will do the recarpeting? Or are you going to do flooring? Is Ethan negative? Our test results came back in about 24-36 hours. They must have a backlog for the holidays. Is anyone else showing symptoms?
LORI - what book were you reading? I'm a mystery fan, myself, though in later years, I prefer my mysteries toned down so I tend toward cozies most of the time. Oh, I hope I don't sew my camel looking backward! lol!!
CAROL - oh, let's hold the curved sewing kudos until I actually manage to do a little of it! lol! Not my best thing. Do you walk every morning? 7500 of my steps would be about 3 miles. Our morning walk here in the RV park is about 3500, I think. I counted them when we were here last year. So nice of you to take your sis some food. Sounds like she's going to need more soon. Can you have some easy frozen meals delivered to her?
Autumn and Antonio (dang! just typed Aaron! Had to correct!) will be here about 1pm. I'm making pesto linguini and adding black beans, fresh tomato, and sliced olives to it. Also salad and garlic bread. I have a red velvet cake for birthday dessert. That used to be one of her favorites.
What's happening on your New Year's plate today?
