Our weather is improving slowly this week and we'll be nearly 80* by Christmas. That just seems wrong though. I would rather have a white Christmas. But if I can't have that I'll have to make do with shorts, sunglasses, and fruity umbrella drinks.

Last night's luminary walk through Lady Bird Johnson's wildflower gardens was really great. Amazing what kinds of lights are available to the pros - and what they can do with them. It was fun just to be with the kids. (I call them "kids" but we were grandparents at their age.

Today I need to clean up some of the clutter that tends to accumulate in this trailer and Bill is going to repair our end table between our chairs. It has an outlet and two phone chargers and they all quit. The table company sent us a new unit so that's Mr. B's big project for the day. Mine, after cleaning, will be sewing more comfort tops. I have 8 together, 6 more to do. Then I'll move on to one of MY other projects. Thursday Autumn has set up a time for me to give Sammy a quilting lesson. She will, at that time, open her gift from us - basic quilting supplies plus Eleanor's "It's El-ementary" book. I'll take some fabric and teach her some basic stuff. I thought we might do a 12-1/2" 9-patch block, use a scrap of flannel for batting, back it, sew it envelope style, and invert it for a small wall hanging. I can also show her a bit of quilting that way, too. Also, we will applique a single block if there's time. So I'll make a "lesson plan" today and gather what supplies I have. Maybe I'll get to, er, I mean HAVE to go to the LQS . . . .

MARY ROSE - I'm jumping up and down (figuratively, of course. I am, after all, a plump 70 yrs old!) with excitement for you for your new machine. I Googled it and it's a beauty! I love my Bernies. You will, too. I'm so glad you did this instead of waiting for . . . . what? Before we retired, all our retired friends told us to make sure we got our wished-for retirement 'toys' before the paychecks stopped coming in. Best advice we ever got.
BECCA - the walk was neat, but even if there had been flowers in bloom in Dec it was dark so we'd never have seen them. I think you said Mark and Denise were coming Dec 26. Do you have anyone coming Christmas Eve or Day? What will you make?
VELDA - you are really working hard on those DPs! And I know all your efforts and careful planning will be worth it! I was wondering what size blocks you are making - 6", 12", or 18". I know all sizes are in El's Egg Money book. But you answered that question for me before I even got to ask it.
TINA - you sew, girl! A nearly empty tote is a beautiful thing! And it's always good to leave a little seed for next year. Hope you get everything done today that you need to.
JANA - I bet, to God, your voice is as beautiful as all the lovely choir voices!
LORI - Like you, I think aprons are a great gift to make/give. I wear them, too. So how's the Christmas quilt coming along?
I thought tonite's supper was going to be lasagna, but I found 1/2 kielbasa in fridge so we're going to slice an fry it with onions and potatoes And I'll make a salad to go with.
How about all of you?
