SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Dec 16th
Posted: Thu Dec 16, 2021 5:11 am
Good morning,
We are 71* at 0500 and going to 80* later today. With about 150% humidity. Sticky, sticky sticky! Yesterday was some sewing - putting a couple 12-block quilt tops together for QIAD comfort project, and then we went thrift shopping- at BILL'S suggestion! That is a first! I did find a few treasures but not a ton, which is good since we are living in a 30' trailer. We might stop at one more today which is north of us. all the others were south. We're making a run to Costco and meeting another couple for lunch - all north. And if I do any sewing today, it will be to work on those comfort tops. I have enough trimmed blocks with me to make a total of 14 tops. I will drop them off with Tina when we go back through Deming again on our way home.
TINA - I would be watching my machine, too, if I had one. My SIL only said she COULD make dinner while her machine worked (all in same room - a great room), so if there were an odd sound she would hear it. But she didn't say she actually DID that. It's good to dream of a new machine. By the time you can get one, you'll know what you want.
JANA - I envy you your snow. I LOVE snow! That's one reason I'm not crazy about coming south for long periods. I don't want to miss a single flake because we don't get much snow - most years none at all. If it weren't for Autumn, you can bet I would be at home! Or at least not here for 2 months! Did you get your skinnies done and hung?
BECCA - nice to have all your Christmas taken care of - 10 days early! So, why are your dried apple pies called "snit"? Any updates on Betty?
LORI - I'm not an LOTR fan either, but when one of my beloved grandsons asks for something quilty, I jump at the chance to make it for him/them. Had I known then what I know now I might not have jumped so quickly. lol! We did watch the movies and I listened to the audio book and I have to say it really helped me understand what I was sewing. But I'm still no fan. Now, Harry Potter - I love! And there are PP patterns for that on the same website. But so far no one is asking and I'm not offering! I miss the Pacific air. We have the Olympic Mtns between us and the ocean, but they don't block it all!
MARY ROSE - long time no see! So happy to have you at the table! That was a dicey drive to work! Glad you made it all in one piece. And back again! A flannel nightie sounds just right for a night like you were having. Did you get the wedding quilt all finished yet?
We're going out to an early lunch today so I'm not sure how hungry we'll be come suppertime. But the plan is to grill some burgers. Depending on how hungry we are we may add baked beans and/or salad to our menu.
What's your plan?
