SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Dec 12th
Posted: Sun Dec 12, 2021 4:50 am
Good morning,
We are only 37* here this morning. Not as chilly as some of you, but we came south to be WARM! Hard to believe 2 days ago our AC couldn't keep up with the heat. We'll be back in the 80's again mid-week and back to cold temps again by the weekend. We were going to go shopping for shorts, but maybe we need to buy some flannel lined jeans instead. Or shorts. But maybe the jeans . . . . . Sigh.
Well, I got all my LOTR blocks together yesterday. It was marathon sewing and I bet I logged over a mile going back and forth from my machine at one end of the trailer to the bedroom (up/down 3 steps each trip!) at the other end where I had the blocks spread out on the bed. Some of those blocks were tricky but I finally got them in. It was kind of like a jigsaw puzzle only I had to manufacture some of my own filler pieces!
Today I will start the borders. And, if we can get it, watch the Seahawk/Houston game. It should be broadcast if we get that channel. Also, the kids are coming by about 3:30 for a short HH visit on their way home from a potluck.
BECCA - you've really got some temp swings there! Your 93 yr old friends seems to have found a joyful purpose - making her cards! 122 must keep her busy all year long! I bet she's a fun lady! When is Denise coming to visit again?
TINA - Foxy's problem isn't actually digestive. He gets good food - Natural Balance. It's hairballs. He has medium length hair and is always bathing himself. And like Scottie, he HATES being brushed or combed. and turns out he also hates his hairball medicine! But all is good because we had a freshly washed Christmas quilt on the bed yesterday, courtesy of Mr. Foxtrot himself, so I was able to lay out my blocks without them getting too hairy! lol!
LORI - I used to make cards, but like you, I found it took away from my sewing time. I couldn't have that! So now I enjoy the few handmade cards I receive and put them up in my sewing room!
VELDA - happy to hear such good reports on your eye! Something to dance about for sure!
JANA - you really made good use of your day yesterday! And I felt just like you did about supper - hungry but too tired to cook! But since I thawed a little ham, I put it into the oven with boxed scalloped potatoes. Pretty easy. But I didn't do the dishes. Looks like Bill didn't either. Sigh.
I think we'll have ham sandwiches, chips, and pickles for lunch during the Seahawk game. The kids are coming by for a short visit at HH on their way home from a Christmas potluck with Antonio's school staff (He owns a small private school that he started here some years ago.). So we'll just have cheese & crackers, olives, mixed nuts, etc for "supper". Maybe outside, maybe inside. We'll see what the weather is doing.
Got an idea for your house tonite?
