Supper Club. Monday, Nov 22

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Nov 22, 2021 4:55 am

Good morning from Canyonville, Oregon.

We had a good run yesterday though it was foggy until the last 70 miles or so. Hopefully today will be better. Crossing the Siskiyou mountains. Weather report looks good for traveling. We should make another 350 miles today.

Jana, glad you’re finally able to get down to your Batcave. What is the company you get your skinny’s from? Ribbon candy? That sticks in my head for some reason.

Tina, hope Frankie is feeling better today. Seems like the household kind of grinds to a stop when dad is sick. When it’s mom, everything still carries on because usually mom does! Lol!

Lori, pizza sounds pretty good. That is our plan for Wednesday night when we meet up with my sister. We are going out for pizza in Quartzsite

Irish, you are off on your trip today. Happy travels!

We are parked in the free RV parking lot at seven feathers casino. Usually when we are here we go in and eat dinner in their café. So this we did. I had scrambled eggs and hashbrowns which were mediocre. Bill had a patty melt. This is a good stop for us and it’s nice to have a meal I don’t have to fix after traveling all day. But I do hate walking through the noisy, crowded, smoky casino to get to the restaurant. Either they are getting louder and more frenetic or I am getting older and more intolerant ! Lol!

So tonight dinner will be those chicken enchiladas I mentioned yesterday

Happy eating!

Good morning!

Mary - wave as you head down I-5, Daniel lives off that freeway in a town named Pleasant Grove. Near the Marysville turn off. Have a smooth trip through the Siskyous.

Dinner tonight is probably chicken and dumplings. A favorite of mine.

Sarah and Ethan will be over today. Sarah's oven is still acting up, so they will bake here. We have the codes for Sandee's house across the street, to use her oven as well. A new range for Sarah isn't available until January. Must be sitting off the coast of California!

Michael's PT will be here in a short time. Michael is still improving. This morning he is active and isn't wearing his O2 leash. No supplemental O2 for nearly 2 hours and his number is holding where we want it.

Kitchen fairies missed me, again, LOL, so off I go,

Hugs,
Jana

Mary, pizza was delicious. Fog is my least favorite to drive in. I've driven through some nasty fog coming home from Fresno. I just followed a big rig.

Becca, sounds like you had a busy morning.

Jana, well at least Sarah has other ovens available. We need to bring back industry to the USA. I try and buy as much as I can that's American made.

Walked the boy, did the grocery shopping and got the dogs bathed. Now time to have some fun. I did spend some time on the Cricut site this morning watching tutorials. Then I went to Michael and bought some supplies for the Cricut Maker. It's really fun.

For dinner we'll have leftover soup and bread.

Have a lovely evening.

Hi everyone!
Mary, safe travels!
Jana, wish I had ovens across the street, my oven died yesterday!
Becca, I'll be going with you to Jana's for some chicken and dumplings too, my favorite!
Lori, I have a cricut and just have Holly come over and work it for me LOL I get win win out of it, spending time with her and whatever project I need ❤
Well my day came to a screeching halt yesterday..... my oven died! It was 30 years old, a GE..... nobody here in town sells them and there were only 4 different stoves in Las Cruces..... sadly I couldn't be picky about what I got, I wished I could've. I woke up at 4, waited till 6 because that was the time that Lowe's opened and they had some in stock. I thought I'd be getting another GE but the 6 they had had a recall issued so they couldn't sell me one. Kevin went for us to check out if we could even get one today so we didn't make the trip for nothing. Did you know that the Home Depot said they never have stoves in stock to sell anymore, they have a distribution center in El Paso and it's up to a 2 week wait, ugh! Anyway I have a tears story for you.... it was a tears story for me anyways. I don't know if I mentioned but our septic system is getting a whole new system after 36 years.... it's supposed to be finished tomorrow, we got a price 6 years ago but the guy was in no hurry plus he ended up with cancer and lost his arm and almost his life. He had to recover and was bound and determined to regain a normal life of working at the City and his septic system business plus 2 other businesses so we decided to wait for him to do it plus he was Frankie's coworker and he's one of Holly's close friends Dad. Then covid hit and his mom needed full time care and then after 18 months of him taking care of her she passed, she was in her 90's and he said she had a wonderful life. So here we are just now getting our system in. Needless to say the price has gone up, a lot. So I've been doing bunches of finding money where I could stuff and I'm almost there..... then the oven breaks... 4 days before Thanksgiving! I had everything lined up to be able to get it on credit which I really don't like to do and I asked Kevin if he could go see if any were available to buy and take home today, hince the not being picky part here LOL anyway he was happy to go and let me know what if any they had. (Can't say long story short anymore because I'm already past that point LOL) so here we were waiting to hear from Kevin and he let me know the guy was checking and he'd let me know what he could sell that wasn't on recall. So here we waited at home for Kevin to call, 55 minutes later I text Kevin.... no reply. Hmmmmmm ..... so I called. He was 15 minutes away with a stove! Him and Maria bought the stove for us (my tears part here) I cried and cried and tried to talk them out of that, that we could pay for it but they wouldn't let us. We finally agreed and thanked them a gazillion times. I just don't feel right for kids to buy something major like that for us out if their pockets. I am so appreciative though and my oven means so much more to me now ❤❤ He did help set it up and we visited and gave him lunch. Still brings tears and a huge lump in my throat.
Tonight we had spaghetti, salad and garlic bread.
