SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Nov 7th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Nov 07, 2021 4:11 am

Good morning,

We're soggy and pretty breezy this morning. We're going to the coast for the day and have lunch with Bill's sis and DBIL. We're leaving a little before 9 and probably won't be back until around 4pm. So not much sewing today. Bill finished quilting my 30's Sew=Along but binding can wait another few days. Drew came by and inspected all my finished LOTR blocks. He loved them and got to see how paper piecing works! Suddenly he realized what he had asked me to do!

VEL- the story of your package is becoming a saga! lol! I agree about Fed Ex. We had an awful experience with Dell computers and Fed Ex last winter that was FUBAR from beginning to end, and took 3 months to resolve so hopefully your shipment will take a less adventuresome route.

JANA - Poor Michael. Just imagine if he'd not been vaccinated! That vaccination probably saved his life! Bill's mom lived with oxygen for years. She had at least 50' of tubing so she could move about her single wide mobile home without dragging a tank with her. She had a concentrator on her back porch. Rest, rest, and more rest will get him well the fastest.

BECCA - So? Did the onions help? I'm glad your drugstore has a drive-up window. You have to make so many trips. And some insurances won't let you get 3 months at a time anymore. If you take multiple Rx's that run out at different times, it must seem like you are at the pharmacy every week.

We're having a restaurant lunch today and won't be home until late afternoon. I don't have a supper plan in case we come home with leftovers or simply don't want another meal. But poached eggs will do nicely if we need a quick supper.

Hi, Maryz, well on along with the "saga", FedEx update told me last night that my new expected delivery is today... What?? So last leg of delivery to get to me on Sunday??? NEVER! The post office never delivers on Sunday in our area. LOL. It's all crazy! The weird thing is I do believe this package is my original order. I really hope it is because that will be all the cards, I picked out. You know I will give you all details when it arrives.
Ok, now I see your Sew Along Quilt was made in 30's fabrics. It definitely is Not 30 feet long. LOL ( I am referring to the Sew In post earlier this morning)
I always end up with missing letters or wrong letters in my post. So many times with texting, I type the correct spelling and yet it changes as I send. Grrrr!
Tonight for supper is our frozen pizza. Our son had introduced us to Jack's Pizza. It's a cheaper pizza, but surprisingly very good. We had a Thin Cheese and Sausage. One pizza 🍕 was perfect size for two people. I think I will see if that brand is available in Shelbyville when we get groceries next time.
Brian reported they have 7 1/2 hours to drive today, so depending on when they get started, I think they will be home by early evening or late afternoon.
Can't wait to get back to my sewing.
Have a great day!!
HUGS, 💕 Vel

Mary, I'm glad Drew gets how difficult a task it is. I'm sure he will treasure the quilt even more knowing the effort it took to make it. I'm heading out to the wineries on Friday to pick up my wine. I get 2 bottles every other month. My girlfriends and I make a day of it. We

Vel, I hat the auto correct. It changes my words completely, and sometimes I send without checking it.

Becca, Black beans over rice sounds yummy.

Jana, so glad to hear Michael is improving.

Last night one of my quilty friends had her 60th birthday party. It was so much fun. Dancing, eating, and drinking.

I posted a picture of my 1800 reproduction Red, White, and Blue quilt. I just made up 2 blocks and put the together.

For dinner tonight will be chicken, mashed potatoes, and a veggie. I'll have to see what what I have.

Have a lovely day.

Hi everyone!
I was here early and I lost internet right when I hit post and it all vanished and not retrievable.
Mary, on the Tennessee Waltz quilt.... you could still give it to your friend, just a nice surprise. I personally think she'd be thrilled!
Velda, I hope your cards make it to you tomorrow.
Lori, I'll go check out your quilt.
Becca, my prescriptions are mailed, drives me crazy because our insurance will only fill 30 days for me to pick up local or 90 days to go through them in the mail. In the summer when we hit 100°+ I don't think it's good for my meds.
The shed needs the doors still and some screws in spots and Frankie is going to be putting in extra supports and anchor it down because of our winds. Still more to do but I think I'm done assisting.
We had Holly and Easton's birthdays here last night. It was fun and we had burgers on the grill and cake and ice cream. They both had fun and we enjoyed it. We all went to lunch today so for supper we just had a salad.
Maria has a breakthrough case of covid, prayers would be appreciated. She's having a difficult time not being able to be around Matthew and vice verse. Here's a pic of how they eat together 15 to 20 feet apart.
