SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Aug 26

Good morning,
Dawn is coming later and later. 6:21 this morning. Soon, we'll have to bump our walking time of 7:00 to 7:30. I'm ready for fall, but not ready to lose daylight.
Yesterday I got another chunk of yardwork done. Little by little, I'm gittin' 'er dun. Maybe by the end of the weekend I'll be finished with it for another 6 weeks. Our Boondockers hung around yesterday until almost 3pm. They only had about 45 min to the state park where they were headed. They were busy getting resettled in their rig after leaving it for 6 months at the dealer while they flew back east in the middle of their trip. And then he had emerg. surgery which is why it became 6 months. And they had a "check engine" light on which was concerning them. Bill said to check their gas cap, which turned out to be loose. He tightened it and that fixed the light! One item they didn't need crossed off their worry list! Every couple that stops here seems even nicer than the last. We almost hate to see them go.
I made more progress on SD yesterday. I think I found an error in my pattern. The blocks are all different sizes. And some are just filler blocks. And I keep not finding the 5-1/2" bordered pinwheel filler blocks I'm supposed to have made. And since I just did this pattern in pinks, I realized I was missing them last time, too. I checked and don't find instructions to make any 5-1/2" pinwheels at all But they are in the assembly instructions. I guess she forgot to write that in. So I made a note. I'm sure I'll be making this quilt again.
VELDA - you sound very happy in your new home! Did you get your furniture yet? I remember once my first hubby and I moved to Denver (only lasted 2 months because he got a better job offer here at home) and we had two camp chairs and a coffee table in our living room. That was it! And our bed was a mattress on the floor. When plans changed and we came home we were glad we'd never gotten any furniture yet!
JANA - what will you do with the mini stockings? A garland? Ornaments? Other? Maybe something from that book, possibly the stockings, will be my Christmas project this year. . .
TINA - what is Frankie doing that you are assisting? He is really cutting into your sewing time! lol! Did you finish painting the house? Are they checking your dad's blood for Covid antibodies?
I took a pork roast out to thaw and the mystery casserole dish in the freezer turned out to be leftover mashed potatoes, so guess what we're having for supper! And maybe green beans and baked apples. I'll fine tune the 'sides' as I get closer to 'show time'.
What's going to show up on your plate today?
