Good morning,

Dawn is coming later and later. 6:21 this morning. Soon, we'll have to bump our walking time of 7:00 to 7:30. I'm ready for fall, but not ready to lose daylight.

Yesterday I got another chunk of yardwork done. Little by little, I'm gittin' 'er dun. Maybe by the end of the weekend I'll be finished with it for another 6 weeks. Our Boondockers hung around yesterday until almost 3pm. They only had about 45 min to the state park where they were headed. They were busy getting resettled in their rig after leaving it for 6 months at the dealer while they flew back east in the middle of their trip. And then he had emerg. surgery which is why it became 6 months. And they had a "check engine" light on which was concerning them. Bill said to check their gas cap, which turned out to be loose. He tightened it and that fixed the light! One item they didn't need crossed off their worry list! Every couple that stops here seems even nicer than the last. We almost hate to see them go.

I made more progress on SD yesterday. I think I found an error in my pattern. The blocks are all different sizes. And some are just filler blocks. And I keep not finding the 5-1/2" bordered pinwheel filler blocks I'm supposed to have made. And since I just did this pattern in pinks, I realized I was missing them last time, too. I checked and don't find instructions to make any 5-1/2" pinwheels at all But they are in the assembly instructions. I guess she forgot to write that in. So I made a note. I'm sure I'll be making this quilt again.

VELDA - you sound very happy in your new home! Did you get your furniture yet? I remember once my first hubby and I moved to Denver (only lasted 2 months because he got a better job offer here at home) and we had two camp chairs and a coffee table in our living room. That was it! And our bed was a mattress on the floor. When plans changed and we came home we were glad we'd never gotten any furniture yet!

JANA - what will you do with the mini stockings? A garland? Ornaments? Other? Maybe something from that book, possibly the stockings, will be my Christmas project this year. . .

TINA - what is Frankie doing that you are assisting? He is really cutting into your sewing time! lol! Did you finish painting the house? Are they checking your dad's blood for Covid antibodies?

I took a pork roast out to thaw and the mystery casserole dish in the freezer turned out to be leftover mashed potatoes, so guess what we're having for supper! And maybe green beans and baked apples. I'll fine tune the 'sides' as I get closer to 'show time'.

What's going to show up on your plate today?

Today we are waiting for furniture delivery. Sofa and two recliners. Tomorrow dressers ( we have to assemble these). Then next the night stands( also assembly for us). Monday: dinette.... Tuesday: End tables.

Tonight is chicken breast, mashed potatoes, begin, fruit cups.

I feel like I need a nap, but can't because of deliveries. Boo hoo!
Have a fun day.

Good afternoon!

Not much here. Same stuff different day. Just fussing around doing miscellaneous uglies. Michael laughs at me, I referred to Yoohoodi as the butler the other day. So you clean up before the butler arrives?, he asked.

Dinner - I have a hankering for some chicken and dumplings, we will see it it happens. I like the fluffy bisquick type.

Mary - it's good that your visiting campers have been so nice. They have great hosts! I went and ordered a bunch of buttons for those mini stockings and came across a section of corrections to all the Art to Heart books. Maybe the website for the original pattern to Gypsy Dancer has something similar.

Becca - sounds like that was a wonderful church wedding.

Vel - all the deliveries are just part of the fun! Keep the hammer, screwdriver and wood glue 8n a handy known spot. I love assembling things.

Well, time to scoot,
Hugs,
Jana

OK Aaron fun for the day - he got a call, it's his day off, the big boss wanted Aaron to take our US Senator, Mitt Romney on a ride along. Showing the Senator what he does out on patrol. It was decided that one of the big bosses would, not Aaron. A good thing, sometimes my Aaron has no tack and I can see he might cause a international problem! LOL! Just another day in the fun of Aaron!

Good afternoon from a warm, sunny, SW. Pa....Another hot day but I keep thinking we better enjoy the warmth, the way the days are passing by, before we know it, it will be shovel time......

Mary, I wish I had some of your energy or maybe wish when I rubbed that bottle a weed genie would jump out...I've taken care of the front of the house but the sides are being neglected.....Kevin was just here and mowed but had to run...He was in between taking a neighbor to have a couple teeth pulled and taking another neighbor to pick up his truck...Kevin is one who will do anything for any one, quite a guy....Glad to hear you had another good "boondocker"..I keep saying, word will get out and you'll be swamped with requests..... The other day, when I mentioned Portland, you mentioned Maine...Well, Jackie had sent me a picture of an eagle and she wrote on it, Portland zoo and I wrote back, Portland as in Oregon? This family of mine is always on the go and I never know just where they might be...Most of them take after Kathy....Had a text from Kathy and Tim was out in the garden picking tomatoes..He starts his rehab on Monday but said, he's really doing good and said, the pain in nothing like it was before surgery....

Jana, had to laugh, are you like those who clean before the cleaning lady gets there? Your towels are gorgeous, love them...Great gifts and everyone will love them.....

Becca, happy belated anniversary...Don't you wonder where those years have gone? Jim and I made it to 63 before he passed and I'd often stop and think, it can't be that many, lol...But, then I'm the same with birthdays, my kids can't be THAT old, my oldest will be 67 in 2 weeks, yikes!

Vel, love the pictures of your new house...Before you know it, you'll be all settled in, with furniture...Before I had my furniture moved into this house, I had gone to lunch with my gal friends and then had them back to the house for "afters" but only had folding chairs and a TV snack table and said, welcome to my dining room.....It's hard to believe I've been here over a year...What did I say about days flying by.....But, want to wish you happiness and good health in your new home, enjoy every minute.....

Yesterday was an afternoon playing cards and laughing and today I was so determined to do something and so far, the afternoon is almost over and I haven't accomplished anything....I still have to visit with my neighbor's fur babies...I did hear from their momma and she'll be home on Sat. The friend she is visiting had an aunt pass away and is leaving for Kentucky for the funeral so she'll be home early....

Not sure what my dinner might be..Now that Jana stirred up the taste buds, I wish someone would make me some chicken and dumplings but don't see that happening...Maybe I'll put a burger on the grill, maybe.......

You all have a great rest of the day.....

Happy eating................

Hi everyone!
This is like my 4th time here LOL I kept being called for assistance. I had to be outside with him because he was up and down on ladders and on the roof. I was ready to call 911 if needed. He is extending our overhang/ shade/ porch out towards my pond so it will give me shade where 2 of my chairs are where I sit and feed the fish and turtles. After he took those 2 trees out I didn't have any afternoon shade. Plus he's installing solar panels on the top to run the pumps in the pond.... they move about 5000 gph of water between them both. I've wanted a shade over those chairs for years, so glad it's getting done.
Mary, maybe nobody has told the author of Gypsy Wife. Maybe you need to send an email?
So glad your boondockers are so nice! You guys deserve nice people for sure.
They check Dad's blood every few months but I'm not sure if they've checked for any antibodies, I'll have to ask.
We're not painting right now, probably in late September, it's too hot for me! Yesterday we hit 99°! I got sick feeling. Then last night I didn't sleep maybe 3 hours and I think it was from getting sick from the heat yesterday.
Becca, your wedding sounds perfect! How do we see it?
Vel, that's a lot to do this week! Every single day is busy for you.
Jana, I've been thinking chicken and dumplings lately too, Dad loves them! I do have chicken thawing 😊
Irish, wow you sure are a whirlwind!
Well Frankie is off thre roof and I'm running on extreme empty from not sleeping. I'm afraid I'm going to have to give in and take a nap. I wanted to sew but I don't think I'm fit to. Maybe I'd I get a nap I'll be able to later 🤞
I might just make chicken and bisquick dumplings, yum!
Tina
