SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Aug 25

Good morning.
54* this morning, but warmer than yesterday because we have no breeze. So I am out on the deck, bundled in my winter robe. I was hearing a beeping coming from our RV which is only about 25 feet from me. Bill checked it out - our carbon monoxide detector alarm was going off. It says on it to replace every five years. I had to laugh because last night we were remarking that it was the 5 yr anniversary of the day we bought that trailer! I guess when they say 'replace every 5 yrs' they really mean it!
Our latest boondockers are really nice folks, as they all have been. This couple is from FL, was touring the US. They are semi-retired and travel to work. They had to take their RV to a dealer for some warranty work and then had to fly back east for family stuff because the RV was waiting on parts. He ended up with emergency surgery and then a long recovery. It's been 6 months! They flew back to SEattle yesterday from CT, picked up their RV, grocery shopped, and drove here. They were exhausted! But so nice! We invited them to the deck for HH. So far this Boondocker adventure has been nothing but positive. We've enjoyed every couple that has stayed with us. We have a somewhat local (40 miles) military couple coming Labor Day weekend because they want to spend a few days exploring our town and visiting friends.
I got a little more yard work done yesterday and then Bill was going to ACE and invited me along. Much as I love ACE Hardware, Michael's was close by so I dropped off there instead to buy fall silk flowers and it turns out they had the purrfect Halloween fabrics for the backing fabrics for my two Halloween swap quilts and my Spell Dancer. So I bought while the buying was good ($6.99 yd and pretty decent quality) and had them washed and on the clotheslines as soon as we got home. We're not big Halloween people, and we've never had any trick-or-treaters, but I do enjoy putting out my quilts and a few pumpkins. The swap quilts will go to my two grandsons for their homes. They love Halloween.
Today's plan - chiropractor, more yard work, more sewing. I might bake some zucchini bread - a friend brought me two zucchini - but I need to go buy other baking supplies first. Our egg supply next door is out of stock right now.
JANA - your towels are so pretty. I don't have an embroidery machine except for an alphabet, and that's all I want or would use, but you really seem to enjoy yours!
TINA - I hope you cool down soon, too. Yes, we will be quilting the Halloween quilts with meandering pumpkins.
BECCA - happy 65th anniversary! You must have been teenagers when you got married!
Supper plan - something from the freezer - tamales, pierogis, or orange chicken or the mystery thing that's frozen in the baking dish but isn't labeled. Something ready-made. I don't like to do much cooking on yard work days.
Have you got a plan yet?
