SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Aug 22nd

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Aug 22, 2021 9:28 am

Good morning,

Kind of chilly here this morning. Only to be 65* here today, but going back to mid 70's this coming week. I think summer is winding down. I have a lot of end of summer yardwork to get to - some day.

Yesterday I finished my Halloween swap blocks and then got started on Spell Dancer assembly. Just the first of the ten sections. Our third Boondockers arrived around 3pm. Nice folks here for a family reunion. Funny, this is our first week doing this and so far all three of our campers are also first time camping with Boondocker hosts. Everyone is feeling their way. They brought us peaches from their tree. Maybe I will make a pie today. Or maybe we'll eat them fresh. I'll let Bill decide.

Today - more Spell Dancer, and probably laundry. And maybe I'll get out and start deadheading some flowers, bushes.

Got interrupted for a few hours so now I'm back

Bill chose pie, so I'll get that started in a few minutes.

JANA - you are so right! Women are much better at multi-tasking. I can't even talk to Bill about anything if he's so much as brushing his teeth! lol! Have fun with all your multiple tasks today!

IRISH - my goodness! If you lived in my time zone we'd be passing each other in the hallway going to/from bed! But sounds like you are having a great time. What a wild woman you are! Love it! Many people don't realize the teeth are the gateway to the heart. Good dental health is so important to good cardiac health. Bill has no heart issues, but I think his oral surgeon wanted to be extra careful. I'm really sorry to hear about your Chriss. My Roy (DH#2) had cardiomyapathy but he HATED dentists and simply refused to go - until he finally needed an extraction - to be done in the hospital after a round of antbx. And he died 3 days later at age 45. His oral surgeon and his cardiologist both felt very guilty. And really shouldn't have.

BECCA - we all knew you would have someone taking great care of CA. Your cleaning lady is sure a huge blessing! And yes, we have a great spot for RV's and we're free. I suspect we will have many more campers than we want. But it's nice to help people out who need a place to park for a night or two.

TINA - I'm sure you're worried about your aunt. If the hospital says they discharged her but you can't reach her at home, maybe you could call her local police dept to do a welfare check. Though here, they will no longer do that because they just don't have the manpower since all the defunding. What do you plan to do when your trees come out? Something easy care, I hope!

I decided we're going to have meatloaf and baked potato and salad for supper. And peach pie, which I'm off to build right now!

How about you?

Good morning!
My aunt called me this morning ❤ she's in a rehab place and has just been wiped out. They wanted to let her go home yesterday but her DH didn't feel he could take care of her so she's not sure how long she'll be in for. She sounded really really good except when she coughed. I had her age wrong yesterday but corrected it, she's only 66. She's a twin.... there's 2 sets of living twins in my Dad's siblings. My Grandma told me she also lost at least 2 sets, she lost some single ones too. My dad is the oldest of 18.
Mary, I want to put in a couple rose bushes and just let the grass grow where these 2 trees came out and by the pond just let the grass grow, the one to the east of the gazebo will get another rosebush there too and nothing will go where the one on the side of the house is except a sidewalk.
We're going to hit 91° but I'd much rather have your temps Mary! That was so nice of your boondockers to give you fresh peaches! Enjoy that yummy pie ❤
Becca, I hope CA is feeling much better by Wednesday so you can go have a little anniversary celebration, 65 is amazing 🥂 cheers❤❤
Irish, I think you'd wear a wild teenager out 🤣😂 you go girl!
Jana, where do you get your towels to embroider? Can I see a pic of one please?
I had Frankie vacuum today while I worked on Christmas blocks. I've messed my left shoulder up somehow and I keep trying to compensate with my right which is my bad one.... gets a little painful but I'm getting through it, just a little slowly. He hasn't vacuumed for me for over a month so he's not being taken advantage of LOL I vacuum with my robot and a little vacuum I have in between, I let him get out the rainbow and move everything about once a month for those dust bunnies that like to hide.
It's Dad's night for eating here, I'm leaning towards either pork chops or chicken.....🤷‍♀️

Good afternoon!

Home from church. In preparing my lesson, I had shortened the length to fit, but I was sharing time with the other teacher and she ran long, so I shortened even more. Did OK.

Tina - I got these towels off Amazon. They are commercial quality and embroider up very nicely. They are Lilianne Collection, 13 to a package. The red stripe is the one I ordered and the 2 stripes run the length of the towels, giving me a nice space to work in. Sarah found a embroidery on ETSY, that says, BELIEVE. Really cute. I will take a picture and share.

Mary - sounds like so far, nice people to Boondock with. Just beware. You could make up a list of sights to see, that are known to only the locals. My list would have train locations. LOL!

Becca - what a blessing your helper is. She knows just what to do!

Irish - you party girl! I am in bed for a long time before you!

Dinner- humm, it's Sunday brunch in a few minutes and nibbles of cheese and crackers later. Maybe some ice cream too.

Well, time to change from my dress and put on my normal attire, jeans and a comfy shirt!

Hugs,
Jana

Thank you Jana, I'll go look them up.
Frankie said he'll just throw some burgers on the grill and we have raw veggies in the fridge, I'm fine with that ❤
