UPDATE ON BECCA
Good afternoon!
I wanted to let everyone know that I have been talking with Becca's DH and also Becca herself. As most of you know, she was in the hospital and is now in a rehab facility. She cracked her pelvis and as you know, cracks can be more severe and painful and take longer to heal than a break. As she always is, she was upbeat and cheerful--a pleasure to visit with! Her husband hopes she will be home in a couple of weeks to continue rehabbing and healing there. She is in good physical condition and working hard at getting to where she can be at home. She is pretty isolated and would enjoy cards and even flowers or bits of cheer.
If you will PM MaryZ, Tina or me, we will be happy to send her address. I'm very reluctant to use them on line in a public setting.
MaryZ said to update you on myself as well. I'm still as crazy as ever, but doing super. I have bouts of vertigo, but I'm working hard at the exercises for it. Who knew there were exercises for it? My doc gave them to me, and there are even YouTube videos! Thankfully I don't have too many issues after the strokes and TIAs. For awhile I lost my ability to type and write by hand, but it has gotten better. When I tried to sew, I was confused. I even had to get out the sewing machine manual to figure out how to fill a bobbin and operate some of the functions. That was pretty concerning at the time. Hopefully it's all behind me now!
There's never a dull moment on the farm. Two days after I got out of the hospital, we had a calf with a mom with no milk and Mr. Bert became my bottle baby. He is now a bucket baby and spoiled rotten. He goes out with the herd during the day, comes home at evening (sometimes I have to go hunt for him) for "dinner" and stays in his pen and shed for the night. After "breakfast" he goes through his private hole in the fence and joins the herd. We had cherries to pick, and I made jam and froze pie fillings. I'm back to quilting and feeling more confident. And, there you are! Thank you all for your concern, cards and good thoughts!
Now, it's time to give those good vibes for Becca! This is such a great group of friends--always lifting each other up with care and support! Thank you!

Chickie, thanks for the update on Becca and yourself.
So glad thins are coming back to you. That must have been very frustrating.

Re: UPDATE ON BECCA
Thank you, Lori. It was really disconcerting to lose my ability to write and sew. I was having to double think pretty much everything I was doing including cooking. Actually I put in a bunch of sugar one time instead of a smidgen. I did considerable research on where my strokes were in my brain and the effects of them. Pretty much all of it was a result of it. There was more that was caused to my various systems that sent me to the hospital the next two times. The body and brain are very complex organisms, to be sure, much more than I learned about in A&P class! LOL!

Re: UPDATE ON BECCA
So happy to see this from you, Chickie. It's been a long rough road, but you have persevered and are on the healing side now. Thank you for letting us know about Becca and she is improving as well.
Many continued prayers,
Jana
