SUPPER CLUB - Friday, June 25th
Posted: Fri Jun 25, 2021 5:38 am
Good morning,
A lovely, early morning out on the deck with my cat, my coffee, and you all! We are headed into a stretch or record-breaking heat through the next four days. I think we're as ready as we can be. The house is opened up to catch the cool morning air and we'll close it up and pull the blinds when it gets warmer.
Yesterday we got all our grocery and Costco shopping done and put away. I cleaned two pantries and then cleaned the garage. Got 6 loads of wash done. I was beat by 4pm. We ended up with burgers and corn on the cob for supper and stayed out on the deck until bedtime - 9pm at our house.
Today Lee & Lara are coming for brunch. They are visiting from VA. I'm making french toast, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, peaches and strawberries. They are bringing something from Alec's bakery - not sure what. Alec is their younger son and he is a baker. I have no other plans for the day. The kids will probably be gone by noon so the rest of the day is mine to either goof off or wash trailer bedding or sew or ???
JANA - glad someone can keep track of all the track at your house! lol! Thanks for the croissant idea. We'll be using bread from Alec's bakery. Not sure if he made it or one of the other bakers. I had french bread but Lara texted she wants to use the bread she is bringing - oatmeal bread.
VELDA - sounds like you've got the logistics of the great pick-up swap all worked out! your Crispy dish sounds like our kind of eatin'!
I took pork chops out of the freezer for tonite. We can do them on the grill and have a salad on the side. I'm doing an extra chop for pork fried rice tomorrow night.
Got any tasty ideas for your supper tonite?
