Good rainy morning!

Today is my brother's 86th birthday. Happy Birthday, Gene! He just got home from a 500-mile run in his semi. He is like the Energizer Bunny - just keeps going and going and going.

Yesterday got filled up. I spent some time poring over recipes and lists, looking for good ideas for camp cooking. We always hope for weather good enough to cook outside on Bill's stove. But at the ocean in March, I go prepared with easy to fix meals in case we have to move inside. So, while we may be gone only 5 nights, I take about 7 nights of meals. I also did a big grocery shopping trip and all the laundry. And while I was out, I hit the Goodwill and scored some real bargains. When I got home, I made 5 dozen cookies for the trailer freezer and then Gus & Claudia came over with pizza! Yay, Gus & Claudia!

Today I'll make final decisions about camp meals and start packing it all out to the trailer. And clothes. I'm not sure what else to do. I packed my crazy quilt scraps and I need my carryer-outer to haul my travel machine out to the trailer. I keep it in the house through the winter because of dampness, but after this trip it will stay in the trailer for the summer.

TINA - so are you done now? You've been raising heck in those rooms and I'm thinking the spiders have had just about enough upheaval! The above-mentioned Gus & Claudia just got back from a short trip to El Paso to visit their brand new great grandson. They made a side trip to Las Cruces and went to a Mexican restaurant their DD had visited many years ago. It was still there and still excellent, but they couldn't remember the name of it. They had to eat at outside table.

BECCA - good to hear your BP is staying in range. I love my walk. Since my walking buddy's dog is old and loves to stop and sniff EVERYTHING, it's slow going these days, but at least I'm out in the fresh air. I should take a second walk later in the day with Bill for more exercise. Maybe as weather improves . . . Lots of family doin's at your house! Bet CA is loving watching it all happen. Have you seen Levi's new house? Have they moved in yet? Now they are the ones with the new little twins, right? And how are they doing? Walking yet?

MARY ROSE - so how did that appt go yesterday? And I'm excited for your quilt and it's borders and label. It is going to be amazing! How big is this X-st pic going to be? I see you moved it to 18-count.

LORI - I looked but didn't see you at the grocery store yesterday! My day also held chores that had been put off not to mention laundry. When I was walking yesterday and fighting Mr. Scott who saw a squirrel, I was thinking of you with Jack and Wrigley. Scottie is only 36 pounds but he is STRONG! Do you walk your boys together or one at a time?

I think I have some leftover chili in the freezer that I might pull out and reheat on the wood stove downstairs while we watch the news. And we might split a baked potato to put under that chili. I will see what B is in the mood for.

How is it going in your kitchen?

Good morning!
Mary, nope not done yet but I'm hoping today is that day. We had construction delays twice yesterday so had an extra hour of drive time and by the time we got home we were exhausted. Thankfully my dresser we picked up was already assembled except for the legs but it's heavy, 70 pounds! We're fixing to go get that show on the road.
Your beach trip sounds sooooo relaxing! I love walking on the beach.
I think we're going to mask up and go to Walmart sometime this weekend so I can get Easter things for the kids.
Maria told me yesterday that they're going to try for a baby this year, happy Grandma and Papa here!
Well I need to get breakfast and get busy so I can be done in those rooms. Monday starts early back to in school here but I'll have all 3 grands at our house doing online. Cases here already started rising again. We got a text yesterday for Frankie to make an appointment but they were already filled up in under 5 minutes so hopefully we will get another chance this next week.
Not sure what's for supper till I check the freezer.
Tina

Good morning!

Mary - happy birthday to Gene! It was my brother's bd yesterday, he turned 83. Enjoy the sand and surf! Waves crashing on the beach, love that sound!

Tina - I am making Easter treats for my grands, maybe homemade Reese's peanut butter eggs or decorated cookie. Not sure yet. The big kids, mine, are waiting for all the hard boiled eggs to be pickled. That's what Sandee does very well.

The food donation has been picked up and the rain is falling. I will be in the Batt Cave sewing. Good day for that. Michael is doing OK, just a bit foggy brained as he calls it. We are getting the Church bulletin finalized. Because of Covid, we now put it online for the Ward. I will be extra diligent in making sure he didn't put in a farm word or two! LOL!

Dinner - pita pizzas. Easy, I just use a pita bread for the crust and top them how we each like it.

Stay Safe!
Hugs,
Jana

Good morning, I was up at three this morning, but by six I was feeling washed out so I laid back down. Bad mistake...my mind kept wandering here and there, but getting nothing accomplished.

Mary - My appointment went well. My blood is holding it's own at a good level right now. However the Dr. wants me to get my blood checked every six to eight weeks (no longer than than three months) to ensure it doesn't start dropping again. He said I could have the blood draws don at my primary care Dr.'s office or he would do it, whichever I preferred.

When I set the x-stitch program for the conversion, I set it for a 6x6 on 18 ct. Aida cloth. The 14 ct. print was good, but the 18 ct. print was less grainy. On my way home from my appointment I decided before stopping at the store to pick up floss, I would check through the colors I already have. Out of all the floss I have, there were only two colors and I had to order the other 157 colors. I am getting excited to work on it. In the meantime I will get the quilt finished up and send you pictures.

Supper tonight will be roast. While getting it thawed I will decide how I will be cooking it. More than likely it will go in the slow cooker.

Enjoy your day, and may blessings abound,

Mary/Rosebud

Mary, Happy birthday to Gene. I think staying active keeps you going. Yes, I walk Jack and Wrigley together on Tuesday and Thursday when Bill is playing golf. Wrigley is 95 pounds and Jack 75.
Our dog training and walking everyday for the last 4 years makes that possible. Sometimes Wrigley gets excited when we walk by another person. It's his opportunity to make a new friend. Typical Golden. So that can be a bit of a challenge, but overall they are great walking buddies.

Grocery shopping took up 3 hours of my day. By the time I went to 2 stores, and put everything away it was 2:30. I also went to the mattress store and bought another set of sheets. They are so wonderful. I did get 3 loads of laundry done, not much else. Today I'll work on the cleaning part of my chores. Then some sewing for sure.

For dinner I think I'll throw some chicken on the grill with sliced potatoes with onion. I also need to make some banana bread today. I have enough bananas for 2 loaves. I'll take one to my mom and dad.

Have a lovely day.
