39* here this morning, going to 45* later today. Good chance or rain, too, and maybe even a little T&L. A great inside day!
Slowly resolving bathroom remodel issues here. We finally had to take the sink/top back to HD. Got another one that fits purrfectly and we actually like it better. But we had to get a different faucet with 4" center instead of 8". Happily, we found the same faucet in the right size. The mirror is flat and framed in HIckory. No medicine chest. Scratched our heads a bit about how to hang it, but finally figured it out and I think it will get hung today. Also, I believe Bill is going to caulk around tub. Nothing else to do until the floor comes. Then we'll be sliding it all back out of the room while they lay the floor. Bill could do it himself, but he's tired. He is happy to pay someone else do some of the heavy work. Hope to hear this week about an install date.
Since my sewing room is directly across the hall from the bathroom, I'm handy when Bill needs a lovely assistant. So I have minutes here and there when I can go cut batik wedges. I've even got 15 arcs sewn together. If I stay with a queen, I'm going to need 240 arcs (6 wedges per arc). But I've almost got myself talked into a smaller quilt more suited to what I think Autumn would use it for. I think that would be about 160 arcs. A good argument for a smaller quilt!
I texted with Chickie yesterday. She is feeling better for the most part but then had another "episode", as she calls them, even as we were texting. Racing heart beat (tachycardia), dizzy, weak. She sat down for a while and it gradually eased up. She has a dr appt next week with a new doc so she's looking forward to that.
IRiSH - you are such a social butterfly! I wanna be like you when I grow up! Cards until late at night, lots of company, lots of BEING company, fishing, camping. I can hardly keep up reading about your exploits. I would be exhausted if I were actually there with you! lol! I liked stream fishing when I was little and did catch my share of trout. But then Daddy said, you eat what you catch. Well, ugh on that!!
BECCA - that is so nice that you are "grandparents" for the the neighbors. You may never know how important you are to them. I never had grandparents but my parents had older friends who were "Gramma and Grampa Rice" to us. We LOVED them! I have so many memories of going to their house. I never knew they weren't our real grandparents for many years.
CAROL - I think I'm going to steal your menu from yesterday. I have homemade pasta sauce in the freezer. Guess we should eat it up. We are lucky. In the past 15 years our area has boomed. While traffic and home-building has increased exponentially (not the lucky part), we now have Costco, Home Depot, Target, Kohls, and a hospital all less than 3 miles of us, not to mention a gazillion restaurants and all the doctors we could need. When I was growing up we had TWO restaurants and one bad doctor (and no good ones!). It's nice that almost everything we need is so convenient now. But Joann's and my sewing machine shop are still over the bridge. Sigh.
JANA - I'm starting to get impatient for your machine. I'm ready to call the shop myself! Ruby needs to come home to her mama! We almost had to do that diagonal cut on one of our vanity drawers, but we only needed an extra 1/4" to accommodate the drain so Bill managed to trim everything CLOSE and reinforce the drawer glide differently. Then he had to drill a 3" diam. hole in the back of the top drawer because it kept bumping up against the cold water valve. He has really logged on the miles the past few days simply running back and forth from upstairs bathroom to garage for tools! lol!
Well, I was thinking of pasta with marinara sauce for tonite but now, after reviewing the contents of my fridge and pantry, I think I'll make chicken noodle soup. Either one will make my hubby happy, and that's what it's all about, right?

Happy cooking!
