SUPPER CLUB - Sat, March 6

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Mar 06, 2021 5:51 am

Good morning,

What a day yesterday! Bill brought our new vanity in just to set it temporarily in place so we could take measurements to hang the mirror. But we discovered that there was no cutout in the back to accommodate all the plumbing, and the drawers were too wide so the plumbing wouldn't fit anyway! Arghh! We spent 5 hours working out this problem. We think the vanity will fit now, but the top/sink unit isn't setting right. We called it a day and will work on it some more today. Plus we found a tiny chip in the top. It's a natural stone of some kind. I forget what. So we may end up reboxing that up, and taking it back. And we never did get the mirror hung. But I found time to finish my little wallhanging and post a photo.

MARY ROSE - medical wheels sure grind slowly! I hope they figure you out soon and don't forget about the anemia. Glad your shot didn't bother you too much. Interesting that you said you had a sore neck. Both of us have sore necks, too, but we've been attributing them to all the lifting and torquing we have been doing with our BR project. Maybe we're wrong . . .

LORI - are your tablerunners for you or for gifts? Hope you found the new bed. A whole bed or just the mattress?

JANA - Sorry your machine is still not home. You would think, since you'd already "done your time", that when your part finally came in you would be bumped to the front of the line. Only seems fair! I'm going to take mine in for spa day in a few weeks. We're leaving for a camping trip March 22-26 so it's a good time. USUALLY they keep the machine about 10 days. But now you've got me spooked!

BECCA - you are Speedy Gonzalez with those those embroidered blocks! Now to put them all together. Will you quilt or tie the quilt? Glad you are feeling better. Maybe you need a cat. Do you know, they say petting a cat for 15 minutes can lower your blood pressure by 15 points? Plus, you get to have a cat!! :D I had to look up Euless, TX. I've never heard of it. Looks like it's about 20 miles out of Dallas.

TINA - Glad Frankie helped you with your sore arm! I never had anyone tell me not to lay on a "shot arm". I actually thought it felt better to lay on that arm. But I was advised 40 years ago to get shots in my dominant arm - the right for me. Because - you guessed it! Using it helps to work the soreness out.

I was starting to think about camping meals but I guess I better set that aside and figure out tonite's supper first. Probably stirfry veggies/chicken over rice.

Have you figured out your supper yet?

Good Morning,
Maryz - So sorry your new vanity needed modifications! I am going to try having the shot in the dominant arm this next week when I get my second vaccine dose. I always get sore arms!

Becca - You are so fast with those blocks! Hand embroider takes time and you have really accomplished a lot in a short period of time. Good for you!

Tonight's dinner is supposed to be Pasta and Meat Sauce, however I need to make the sauce. I also need to run some errands. We don't pay a toll, but we do drive about 10 miles to run the errands I need to run.

Good morning!

Breakfast is done and dinner is planned - stroganoff with green beans. Andrew will still be here tonight. The pasta shells were yummy and he will have them for his lunch today.

Not much going on here. I am heading to the Batt Cave.

Mary - we had the same problem with the Batt Cave bathroom vanity fitting. We had to modify the drawer, by cutting it and make the edge a diagonal. What a pain, but our handyman was up to the task. I assume you are stacking up fabrics to cut all those wedges. It will be gorgeous! We too plan our trips out. No tolls, but many places are across the valley, about 15 miles, one way. Even just a short trip takes about 2 hours!

Stay safe!
Hugs,
Jana

Good afternoon from a sunny but chilly, SW. Pa....We are to have spring like weather for the next week, which is most welcome....It's still sweat shirt weather but with that sun, puts a person in a great mood (almost feel like doing something productive, almost)......

Oh Mary, I honestly think, major projects like a bathroom is supposed to have some snags...When has a project ever gone just perfect but when it's all done, you appreciate it even more....Have you heard about your flooring yet? Since I have no big projects to do in this house (except a roof for the front porch), I have to be satisfied changing the drapes or the kitchen curtains and making new kitchen chair pads...I had wanted to change the bedroom around and last night when my sister and niece came to play cards, my niece said, OK, let's do the bedroom! Then I decided, I'd wait......Getting a visitor, maybe 2, next Sunday...While Kathy and I were texting, she decided to book a flight...Not sure if Tim is coming or if by chance, we're going to Cari's or if she and Lena might be coming here...Love these spur of the moment trips.....And then this morning, my nephew told me, he's taking me for fishing license...I've never fished in my life but apparently, I'm going to camp in a couple of weeks and feeding the fish....He also wants Kevin to come along and I'm not sure if this country is ready for the 2 of them to be together.....No I haven't gotten a shot yet...Our state is really lax in receiving supplies...But, now, the teachers will be getting the new J&J shot as soon as it becomes available, hopefully within a week or so....I think I'm on every list there is and just waiting for a text or email...But, after hearing about everyone's reaction and things to do, I'll be more than ready...And as far as the foot, it's really good although, it still swells and at night I do have to put it up...If I know I'm going to be doing a lot of walking (which isn't too often), I do take my cane.....thank you for letting us know about Chickie, sure hope she bounces back quickly.....

Becca, you sure got an early start and always gets so much done....You really do zip through those blocks.....I think Mary has the right idea about having a cat...There's nothing like having a purring cat on your lap, best feeling in the world....Of course when you have that same purring cat laying on your chest too early in the morning you sometimes wonder, lol......

Jana, your machine will probably come the same day as your new bed...Such excitement headed your way....

Not much happening today...Do have laundry going and did make a trip to my sister's to use her burn hole...We played cards at my house last night and tonight's we're going to her friend's....Not sure what's on my menu, maybe just a bowl of cereal because we'll be having some very good snacks later...My sister is baking a cinnamon coffee cake.....
One sad note, had a call from Terry and his wife had a call from the nursing home where her Mom is and she's taken a turn and is now on Hospice...They said, it will be days, not weeks...His wife, Theresa, hasn't been able to be with her Mom, just waves through the window because of the Covid...Her Mom had a stroke years ago and hasn't been able to talk, which made it even worse....

Gonna run, fold some clothes and jump in the shower......
You all have a great rest of the day.....

Happy eating...................
