SUPPER CLUB - Monday, March 1st

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Mar 01, 2021 4:01 am

Good morning,

Much hooting in the woods during the night. Much barking in the house. And not much sleeping! Dogs!!

Yesterday I finished my DWR table runner. Just have to attach the binding today and it will be table-ready. Also, Bill's ready for painting in the bathroom. Today will be primer. In another day or two, we'll do the real paint. A very pale sage green. Then we'll be ready for flooring. Still waiting for a date on that.

TINA - thanks for taking us on a tour of your new fabric closet. I've been to your house and even been in that closet. It looks much bigger now. It's awesome!! And yes, I'm with you! I made the mistake of cutting an entire quilt once without making a first sample block. And I cut it all - every last piece - WRONG. It was a hard lesson, but I learned it well.

CAROL - what an interesting lone star pattern! Creative! Who did you say this quilt is going to go to? I like the monochromatic colors.

MARY ROSE - well, did that last pork chop make it to suppertime? :D Your quilt is going to be so pretty. Your DGD will be pleased.

JANA - I hope Sarah can get her implant just right soon. Great that her tests came back negative for Lupus and RA, but symptoms still there? Fibromyalgia, maybe? Is she done with all her home renovations? I guess it's a good thing you didn't have any more Lila stories for us. How did class go yesterday?

Tonite I'm going to make a scramble, I think, with potatoes, kielbasa, onions, peppers. One of my personal favorites.

Good morning!
Mary, I think Scotty woke Rosie up, she wanted out at 5 my time so 3 your time. Please tell Scotty to keep it down 🤫😴😴😴
Your DWR table topper is soooooooo pretty, you did a terrific job! Are you ready to start the big one now? I'm ready for you to LOL
Yes my closet is big, 59x76, when I walk in I have the door width and a straight 40" to the shelves then a right turn walkway that's wide enough for me and about 45" to the right wall. It's very roomy and not squished. I love it!
Carol, your quilt is so pretty, love the colors you did!
Jana, I hope they find out what's wrong with Sarah. Maryrose just went through years having problems and they just found the cause. I'm hoping she'll be all fixed up after her surgery this month and feeling 1,000,000% better ❤
Irish, we're learning about eagles in Easton's online class. I was telling him about you giving us eagle updates, he's very impressed 😍
Dad will be here for supper, I think I'm making chicken but I'll have to double check when I get in the freezer.

I was up at 0400 to let the dogs out. I think Scottie woke them as well. lol

Mary, you sure whipped out that table runner fast.

Becca, seems like everything has increased in price.

Tina, love your closet.

Carol, I like your quilt.

Yesterday was Cherrios for dinner. I was busy sewing and didn't want to stop and cook. I need to grocery shop today, so I'll pick something up to make. Not sure what. I also need to get some backing for a table runner and small charity quilt today. That's 1st on the agenda.

Have a lovely day.

Good afternoon! Finally!

Been out running errands all morning and into the afternoon. I need a nap! Stopped off and saw Matt for a minute to give him the board to use a table across the arms of the recliner so he can work. Then drop off Sarah's groceries and then home and put mine away. Then I had to post all I have spent, so that the budget can be done. Budget day is not fun!

The good news is that the bed place called and my bed is finished being made and will be shipped to the store and that takes about 10 more days. uggh, but at least it is made and on it's way. I was beginning to think that it would end up be canceled and I would have to start all over. Now if the sewing machine would call! Michael is talking about changing out the carpet in my bedroom, before the bed gets here, now that we know a approximate time frame. the big if, is can the carpet people do it that fast. I really doubt they can and I can't even go look for the carpet until Wednesday. Michael is going to stay over at Matt's tomorrow afternoon. Crenda needs to run a ton of errands at their house and Matt wants someone in the house with him for a time longer.

Mary - love the table runner! When you make the big quilt with the DWR, are you thinking about the arcs being the outside, that you add the bias binding to all of them? That is the tradional way I have seen most of the DWR's. That is what is slowing me on making one, all that bias and all those curves and then that point between them. That is why it is still on the bucket list.

My class went very well yesterday. I did fine with all my slides and teaching the material. Now if I can just get those women to talk more! More of their talking and less of me! Already starting for my lesson in 2 weeks. Then I should be back to my once a month teaching schedule. We will see how my partner's shoulder surgery is healing.

When we dropped off Sarah's groceries, Smudge heard my voice and came running in and jumped right up in my lap for his loves. Now this is not a little kitty, he is a moose and about 22 lbs of furball! I am now covered in fur as he is starting to shed.

Oh, dinner - I have all the fixings for the Cafe Rio salads now, so that is what I will assemble. No cooking involved, just toss and eat!

Stay Safe! Only 23 more days and I get my second shot - oh joy! But then as Judi put it, I can bite someone! LOL!

Hugs,
Jana

Let's see if this works. Okay, this was my first DWR. I did not put the points on the edges. Attaching the bias binding wasn't all that hard. This quilt was my third ever quilt made, so I know you girls can make your bucket list DWR's with no problem at all.

Mary the last pork chop did make it to the table last night, so tonight I am just going to have some eggs and toast.

Beautiful quilt, Mary Rose! Yellows are such happy colors!

Tonight's dinner was leftovers from last night. Very good!

Maryz - You will have your DWR done before most of us can find fabric.

Tina - Your closet is enviable! I love it!

Becca - Phone calls are wonderful, however they are very time consuming. Glad you got your walk in!

Lori - I think I need grocery shopping tomorrow. I am not going to do a pick up though. They send substitutes that I would never have purchased.

Jana - Glad the bed has been built. Now hopefully it will get to you!

Carol
