SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Feb 18
Good morning,
Our weather is back to normal. High 30's to 50 degrees for next 10 days. With rain or drizzle more than half of the days.
I got all showered and dressed and ready for my chiropractor and massage appts this morning and just realized they are both tomorrow morning. Oh well. Getting an early start to my day, I guess.
Our floor guy was supposed to come yesterday but put us off til today so I need to try to keep the floors clean one more day. Sometimes a tough assignment around here! I got my fabric I ordered for my "Get Together" quilt so I'm going to try to 'get it together' today.
TINA - Glad Holly got her water fixed. You are really making progress on getting your room organized. I have several totes slid under our LA - Wools, flannel for backings, large batting scraps, my scrapbooking tote, my Featherweight, and a tote full of gift bags. It's a great storage area. But no shelf. It all just sits on the floor and I slide them in and out.
BECCA - Oh no! Irish said her friend was 91 and she felt hesitant to visit because of Covid. Irish is still a young chickadee! I love hearing about 'her' eagles, too. And funny you should ask about breaking a nail while grocery shopping. I just did that last trip! Not unusual and I don't understand why. I can garden and my nails get dirty but don't break.
JANA - I hope Sarah finds a simple answer to her medical problems. You've got a lot of snow! You're welcome! It will make for a better summer. I've seen the strip piecing method of DWR. Not sure that's the way I want to go. I have QIAD's DWR ruler set, but not sure that's the way either. Still thinking . . . Loved your photos. I have to go back and study them some more though. Didn't have time yesterday as we were on our way to dinner.
IRISH - I can see an IC quilt in red and black. It would be striking, for sure! I love black and brights but somehow black fabric really attracts cat hair. That's a problem here. And as I type, I have a sleepy kitty head resting on my left hand and bouncing as I type! lol! My house practically is a library! lol! I have shelves of books in every room. I've ready almost all of them, some more than once. Plus I download audio books from the library onto my i-pad and listen to them all the time. I can also download from Aut's library in TX.
Well, it was so nice to go out to supper last night with our friends. Tables were spaced and our server, "Ciprian" (unusual name!) wore a mask. But they changed their menu A LOT and so I got adventurous and ordered chicken and polenta with a clear sauce w/mushrooms. It was very disappointing. There was no flavor in any part of the dish. So I brought the chicken home, will cut it up and make alfredo with it tonite.

Good morning Mary and all who follow.
Tuesday was filled with Dr. Appt's. I was suppose to have my stress test (which they did try to do), but no one informed me not to eat anything or take my meds after midnight. I hadn't eaten, but I did take my meds. The stress test didn't do anything, so I have to go back tomorrow and retake it. After that appt. I had an appt. with my primary care dr. I came home after that appt. and fixed myself a "banned" sandwich. When I bit into it one of my teeth cracked. It was already too late to call the dentist to come in to get it checked, so I took some aleve and that's "all she wrote" for the rest of the evening. Yesterday I called as soon as the office opened. The dentist did a temporary fix, but due to all the other health issues, he didn't want to proceed with any major fix until verifying with primary care and cardiologist that it would be safe to do so. I came home, took some more aleve and slept for most of the day. Hopefully today will be more productive. I promise I am taking it easy though with things that I am doing.
Supper tonight will be chicken and mashed potatoes as they are soft to chew.

Good morning!
Michael is shoveling out the Solara. Matt needs to borrow it. Enoch has a oil pan seal leak, which the company who replaced the engine is fixing. Matt just got Enoch back from the dealer, as they replaced the transmission, under warranty , by just a couple of weeks! Sheesh! Matt has learned you don't buy the dealer's demonstrator model! The engine was not properly broke in and neither was the transmission. Sure glad we take care of our cars and kept them for just such occasions. Aaron has our little truck as his second vehicle, so it is driven. The little truck is 20 years old and not yet with 100,000 miles on the odometer.
Dinner - I have chili from last night and found some hot dogs and buns, they will be put together.
Mary - sorry your dinner lacked flavor. No fun! John Flynn's method of strip piecing really works well. You sew strips together, then cut into the arc size, then you resew the seam on each piece in the strip, by taking three stitches, then with the needle down, swing over to a guide that takes in the piece to make the curve of the arc. I know it doesn't make sense here, but it does work. I have the book and it may still be in print. Just looked and Amazon has some for about $20.
MaryRose - many prayers that soon you will have answers.
Becca - Sarah always has some hand work - embroidery or counted cross stitch she is working on. She has many binders of thread - you name the color and I will bet she has it! I used to do counted cross stitch, but my eyesight is getting bad. As my dad would say, I have a eye like an eagle, a dead one! LOL!
Well, time to take the car to Matt's.
Stay Safe!
Hugs,
Jana

Hi everyone!
I seriously thought I came on and posted this morning
Mary, I'm so sorry your supper wasn't good, so disappointing. I bet you'll have it tasting yummy tonight though.
Maryrose, I'm so sorry about your tooth and them not telling you how to prepare for your stress test. I can't imagine breaking a tooth on tuna sandwich though.
Becca, I was picturing you stamping as I read your post, it's adorable in my mind ❤
Jana, that's a bummer about the seal, I hope they get it fixed for him quick.
My shelves came and Easton helped his Papa build 2 of them. Frankie is working on the 3rd one now. Our order is ready to pick up at Home Depot for the lower part of the wall, we'll either go tomorrow or Saturday to get it.
I woke up way too early, 4:45 and I'm feeling blah now.... guess I ran out of energy. Frankie says he'll throw a burger on the grill and we have salad.
