SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Jan 25th
Good morning!
36* here but nothing coming down out of the sky which is nice news since I'll be gone walking as soon as it gets light.
Yesterday was a sew-day (but then aren't they all??). I still have Spring on the LA but it's about 2/3 finished. Maybe today it will get done. Then we'll load another one. I have 6 choices . . . But because I can't stand at the LA all day long and I didn't have another project going in the sewing room, I started a new one I've had my eye on. It's called "Get Together" and is in American Patchwork & Quilting, Issue #163 from last spring. It has some paper piecing in it so I had to refresh myself on that. It's been about 4 years since I've done any of that. I'm using Civil War fabrics and this pattern is a good use of the little scraps I've saved. Today will be working on those two projects. If it were to get warmer outside, I may take a fresh air break and go rake leaves or pull weeds or pick up branches . . . And I'm happy because Bill noticed a Covid vaccine clinic in Tacoma and got me one of the last appts - tomorrow! If all goes well, and I do get it, then I'll cancel the appt I have in March. His appt is Feb 20.
TINA - I hope you got rain and no wind yesterday but what I know of NM, it was the other way around! You will soon build up muscle memory with the LA and whiz through your projects. What kind of soup did you make? I'm feeling a soup welling up - chicken noodle I think. But not today. Did you get your binding done?
BECCA - you must have a good supply of enchiladas for CA! lol! Sounds like he's a happy eater!
JANA - your Batt Cave is coming down to the finish line! I love your organizational skills. That is my one good talent - I am organized. I work on one project at a time in my sewing room and clean up after each one. Everything is labeled and in sight so I rarely lose anything or find long-forgotten items. Ditto my kitchen cabinets. Good on Stu! He is really growing up! Glad the potential roommate came clean about his finances.
For supper tonite I gave Bill the choice of burgers or tacos and tacos it is! And for once I have everything on hand. A good thing since I don't make quick runs to the store for just a few ingredients.
How's the supper planning going at your house?

Jana, glad Stu figure all that out before he moved in with the guy. That would have been a problem.
Mary, I like that "Get Together" pattern. I have that magazine and looked at that one too. My Bill will always take burgers over tacos.
Our Judy Niemeyer class was canceled Saturday. We'll start the classes next month instead. I have my pattern and I'm going to go on Quiltster and make a kit to have them send out. You can choose your fabrics on the website and see how it's going to turn out. Not today though, I want to finish quilting a flower applique quilt I did years ago. It's my last UFO for guild. I need it done by February 9th. I still need to find some binding for it also. I didn't used to plan ahead.
For dinner I'm going to make enchiladas verde. I found some sauce I want to try out.
Have a lovely day.

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Jan 25th
Good afternoon!
Well, here I am, bored to tears! No sewing machine to use! Most of the backs for my LA need to be sewn together, didn't pay attention to that. But I need to straighten up that area now, as most of things moved out of the way of the island are there. Uggh! Also not in the mood to do laundry, it can wait. So will try to find something to do. Michael needs to do some computer vwir8ng to be able to move a printer, maybe I will help him.
Dinner - I have some ribs and a new BBQ sauce to try. It is from Guy Fieri, a Kansas City style, so will bake that and a macaroni salad.
Mary - glad you found a sooner appointment. Still nothing here. We must be a old state, lots of us seniors here.
Lori - sorry about the postponement. The Quiltster site is really fun to play with different fabrics to see how they work together. The first set of colors I did for the middle of my JN, looked good, but really didn't work. Then I changed them up and came up with a winner. You can also reorder paper piecing parts if you make a mistake and need to redo. You need lots of very big paper clips too. I got a box of paper clips at Walmart.
Becca - only 4 to quilt is a good thing in these days. E joy your day.
Carole - I too am going to make Tina's chicken later this week.
Well, need to get up and do someth8ng!
Hugs,
Jana

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Jan 25th
I just erased my post instead of hitting enter
So let's see if I can remember
Hi everyone!
I hope you all like the chicken recipe as much as we did! The next time I make it I'll try putting the parmesan cheese on at the last 10 minutes of baking and see if that helps it not stick.
Mary, you know our weather very well, blowing dirt was exactly what we got. We're still supposed to have rain and snow though. It's very cold and windy right now.
That pattern is gorgeous! I should try the pp flying geese and see if that's easier on my wrists.
Becca, glad to hear you're staying very distanced during quilting
Jana, you have too much to do to get bored LOL
Carole, share the rain please.
I'm working on a binding, I've got it ready to sew down on the front then I'll do a label. I hope my machine is working ok, yesterday I had a messed up bobbin (I think) and my machine ate through my label for Jazmyne so I had to start over after I cleaned and oiled my machine and I kept my fingers crossed the whole time.
We haven't decided about supper, either soup or maybe sandwiches..... maybe soup and a sandwich? LOL
