Supper Club - Tues, Jan 12

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Jan 12, 2021 4:53 am

Good morning,

43’ in Colusa this morning. Balmy after some of the temps we’ve had this past week. Today’s run will be over the Suskiyous and into Oregon. Our last actual travel night. Tomorrow will be into WA and then over to the coast for 3 nights, home on Saturday. Our RV shelter is occupied by our friend’s old trailer until Sunday.

Chickie, Bad Dog Odie! Worse than kitty paw prints! Ham and beans sound good to me. I Took dry beans with us but never got around to making them.

Jana, thanks for reminding me that I have grandma’s spot remover at home. I did get most of the paw prints out. The faint stains left will be covered in thread. There are still visible prints at the edges but they will be cut off when I frame the piece. Foxy was very persona non grata all day that day! Thanks for the hints on your special grilled cheese!

Tina, when I need something at my side to hold the weight of a quilt I use my ironing board. It is adjustable height and when I’m done I put it away. Is Moxie your new LA?

Becca, A very good call to stay home when it snows. When I was younger I was so much more adventuresome. Especially with my four-wheel-drive. But now I am content to watch it snow from inside my living room or, better yet, my sewing room! ❄️☃️

Mary Rose, sending prayers and healthy thoughts your way! I think a Lovers Knot would be purrfect for a wedding quilt. I have the pattern but never made the quilt. Have you decided on colors yet?

Lori, we have stayed here at Colusa Casino many times but always just a quick overnight stop. Never unhitched to explore the town. Never knew there was a Quilt Shop here. Maybe next time I will try to check it out

I haven’t heard from Irish lately so maybe I will send her a text later to see how she is doing. My BIL says my sis is doing OK but bored and depressed. She needs something to do so I suggested, if her shoulder will allow her, he go get her some yarn and she crochets little hats and tiny 18x24 blankets to donate to NICU in Denver.

Tonite’s planned menu is Rice-Roni with added canned chicken and peas. But we still have potato salad and hot dogs left so that may be it instead. Or chicken patties and potato and green salads... all simple travel day meals. Guess I will wait and surprise myself.

Good morning!
Mary, we were 16° this morning! That's too cold for me brrrrrrrrr! I hope your sis gets out of the blahs, it's hard enough with covid but then with her added accidents it must really be hard for her. I like your idea too get her buddy though ❤. Yes, Moxie is my LA 😊
Becca, I love love love grapefruit but can't eat them or drink the juice because of medication. I want to ask the pharmacist if there's a little window of opportunity where I can.
Chickie, oh goodness that sounded like a bad yucky smelling accident, Duncan has been doing the same and he's in a fenced yard and can't go anywhere..... we think it's Tom cat pee 🤢
Lori, I'm sorry you had to make that decision, it's so hard.
Jana, your grilled cheese sounds very yummy! I love grilled cheese all kinds of different ways. I'm sorry one of your old ornaments got broken, I cry when things like that happen.
Maryrose, hoping they find the problem soon and it's an easy fix. I just wish they'd speed things along so you can get better faster!
I can't put much of anything to my left because it's only 3'x maybe 18"? Last night though I took my stacks of things I want to get through first and put each one in some extra totes I had and put them in that hole/ space and I'm hoping they'll help hold up my quilts while I do the bindings, fingers crossed.
I put a big huge pot of veggie beef soup on, the boys want it for lunch and we'll eat it for supper.

Good afternoon!

Finally got the last of Christmas down, and repacked. Michael has been hurting from his arthritis in his chest - sternum area, so bending is quite painful, so Christmas de-decorating is going slow.

Sarah is hurting too from her run in with Stu's elbow and her nose. Not broken but a huge sinus infection. With the possibility of a puncture leaking brain fluid, from a Covid test. They are checking for the fluid, we are waiting for that test result. So antibiotics are the course.

MiIchael did fix the train - it was a electrical track issue. So Ethan will be over in a short while to run the train for awhile., before it is put away until next Christmas. He is excited.

Dinner - Sarah is at Costco, so she is bringing me chicken. That opens up a world of recipes! So chicken something!

Mary - happy to hear the Siskyous are clear today. The ocean will be a refreshing change from any snow!

Tina - the boys sure love their 'lunch lady"!

Becca - I am with you in driving in the snow!

Well, I am off to get a few uglies done,
Stay Safe!
Hugs,
Jana

It's really nice to have my house back. My FIL was not happy here. I couldn't say anything without him getting offensive or upset. When Bill was gone playing golf or whatever, I wouldn't even speak to him. Bill is much happier too. Hindsight, we should have put him in a care facility. He needs constant care and it was really a lot of work. I think this will be better for everyone.

Mary, I bet you will be glad to stop and enjoy the coast for a few days. Our weather is really nice this week, so I'm going to drive out to the Beach on Thursday. It's about a 35 min drive. I'll just enjoy the sound and smell of the ocean for a bit. It's been a long time since I've had free time to do that.

Jana, Poor Sarah. I sure hope the meds help her heal up quickly.

Tina, the reason I don't have a LA, is because our house is too small. I wish I had a place for one. I think my dining room would be the only place big enough. And I'm not willing to give that up for a LA. I might go learn a machine and rent time on them instead. Then if I really like it, I'll have to talk DH into moving. lol

We went to a Mexican restaurant for lunch and I'm quite full. So no dinner tonight.

Have a lovely evening.
