Good morning!

Going to about 75’ here today and we’re finally going to get our Christmas with Autumn. She and her friend, Antonio, will bring everything back to us that we’d already taken to them - gifts, food, champagne.

And my sis is to be discharged from the hospital today. Surgeon told us she shattered her knee. I wonder if she cracked it when she fell and broke her shoulder. She complained of it hurting then but her other injuries were so bad no one pursued it. Al is going to build platform in backseat for her to lay on as her unbent leg won’t fit in front seat. We will all stay in this park until Jan 3 and then we will follow them back to CO, cancelling our south TX plans. What an adventure this is turning out to be! But through it all, I did get in a little sewing time yesterday. 🧵

Lori, what you said is word for word what ortho surgeon said, “a Christmas to remember”! Loved your “unintended” pun, too of a bad trip. Laughter is, after all, the best medicine ! How is your little Emma This morning. We are all about the cats and dog too. In fact, the last two bad falls my sister took were cat- related.

Becca, i’m so glad you got to talk to all your kids yesterday. We un-decorated Christmas afternoon. It took us about 1/2 hour and that included rearranging everything in the storage area to pack all the Christmas stuff to the back. At home I do less and less decorating these days.

Tina, praying for your Kevin. I know Judi’s son was really sick, too. Glad you are staying away. Hope Maria and Matthew don’t get it

Jana, so good to hear Scott has finally accepted you! And yes, we have a variety of stools of different types and heights. My 4’10” arthritic mom also used stools to get into dad‘s pick up. We are gathering them up and we’ll see what suits her the best

Looks like I am the official Camp Cook now for the foreseeable future. I pretty much was anyway but now, it’s for sure. I was thinking of making stroganoff tonight but then thought my sister might prefer lighter fare. So it might be scrambled eggs and toast for her. Plus, I don’t know what time Autumn and Antonio will be here so we are just going to wait and see. I have enough food here I can cook something up on the spot

How are things going in your kitchen today?

Good morning!

Mary - what a blessing you are for your sister. To be there to watch over and help. You were meant to be in this place and at this time. Especially with your training as a nurse! It will be fun to finally celebrate with Autumn.

Not much here. Usual brunch food here today. Then piece on what is in the refrigerator. Heading to the Batt Cave to play and clean and organize.

Aaron is on duty. It appears that the new incoming governor is looking at substantial raises for the Incident Management team. The governor has seen how much work and danger these guys are in and the troopers love them! So we can hope. That plus if Aaron gets the promotion to head up his district here in Salt Lake, will be quite nice. That district is the biggest of all the districts in the state.

Stay Safe!
Hugs,
Jana

Mary, hope you are having a good day with Autumn. Sounds like perfect weather for an outside gathering. Emma is okay. I think she might have a bladder infection. I'll call the vet tomorrow. They've been closed since early Christmas Eve.

Becca, best that everyone stays home when it's icy out. So many accidents happen.

Jana, fingers crossed Aaron get the position and a huge raise. My girlfriend was a tow truck driver
for years. She said she wouldn't pick up anything on the freeway. It's just too dangerous. People just don't pay attention. When DH was working they would use the Fire engine as a barrier, and people still did stupid things.

I've been working on my Vintage Tin embroidery and hanging out with the furry ones.

For dinner I think I'll take a lasagna out of the fridge and make a salad.

Have a lovely day.

Hi everyone!
I was here earlier but got called away before I could post. The last load of laundry is in finally and I cleaned the kitchen and straightened up. I was going to go in my sewing room but now I'm too tired and still need to hang clothes up when they're done. Maybe I should just plan tomorrow to finish my practice quilt and then get Dad's quilt loaded and started. I promised him it would be first.
Today is a bummer day, it's the day mom passed 3 years ago. From the 21st to today is always hard. I try to stay busy. I watered everything out back, even drained some of the water out of the pond and refilled it. It started getting a little cool for me out there though so I came inside. Out front still needs watered.
Frankie gathered all the garbage and hauled it to the transfer station.
Mary, I hope all goes well with your sis. It's gonna be a hard trip going home for everyone I'm thinking.
Kevin it's still having some pretty bad pains but he does say he's getting better each day. I'm not sure if that's just to relieve stress for me though, I'll be glad when he gets all well. Just praying Maria and Matthew don't get it.
Jana, I sure hope he gets the promotion and the raise!
Becca, I hope your pastor is ok. Oh goodness, your brother has covid too. How long does it take to get over it or is a case by case kinda thing?
Lori, I hope Emma has a quick fix. Lasagna sounds sooooo yummy!
We're going to have turkey tacos for supper, I think that'll get rid of the turkey.
Tina

Maryz - I am so sorry to hear your sister had such an accident! Your trip home is not going to be easy! Maybe she should ride in your truck??

Jana - Hoping Aaron gets the promotion and a big raise!

Becca - So sorry to hear your brother has Covid. Glad he is recovering.

Tina - Sorry to hear Kevin has Covid. Hopefully it is a mild case and he gets over it.

Lori - Sorry your Emma isn't well. Hope she bounces back quickly.

Tonight's dinner will be Pizza with ham and pineapple and a Salad on the side.

My sister was given two units of blood so her BP and sugar levels are better. Her WBC count went from 40 to 16. The drain is no longer green. They are doing a CT scan tomorrow (Monday) to make a determination of what to do next. They do not want to send her home with a drain and bag, so I am thinking she will have surgery sooner than she was originally told. She sounds stronger today although very tired. She hasn't been able to sleep.

Carol - glad to read a better report on your sister. Hope they decide quickly on what to do.

Mary - I have been thinking about your sister and her trip home. Many years ago, I was faced with the same problem. I tore up my knee and was in a cast from the top of my hip to my ankle. No way to bend at all. I was in Rexburg Idaho and lived in California. So my mom put me on a airplane to get me home. Is there someone that could care for Tina at her home in Colorado until you get the caravan there from Texas? It made my trip much easier to fly. There would be plenty of room for her leg to be straight out at the very front row seating of the airplane and the airports have motorized carts that would take her to the gate and get her on the plane. We used those carts for my mom many times. Also, when I had to fly home with my leg in that cast, my mom made sure that it was a direct flight, so I would not have to move until we landed in San Francisco. I was on crutches with not allowed any weight on that leg.

Praying that you will be inspired with a good decision!

Hugs,
Jana
