Supper Club Wednesday Dec 23

Post by gershwin64 » Wed Dec 23, 2020 8:54 am

Good morning!
Mary's phone or QIAD won't let her sign in today. She still hasn't gotten her computer back and so they contacted who is fixing it si it'll be sent to their next destination when finished 🤞
My long arm is set up! I'm baking! We're busy here. My son could use some prayers, he was exposed to covid at work on Thursday, he's getting tested today.
I think we're having tacos for supper if I'm still able to cook. LOL after baking all day I end up exhausted.

Jana, here's tamales I made yesterday. They turned out sooooo yummy! I found making small batches works better for me than making the huge batches..... by small batches I mean about 32, big batches are like 80 to 90

Good for you Tina! I am curious, is this a replacement LA or do you have a period of adjustment learning? I know you have quilted so it shouldn't be too hard for you to learn.

Thanks for passing on the news about Chickie and Mary. Sorry to hear about Levi. I will keep him in my prayers. I guessed it was Mary's phone. She is one of the moderators so she will be good once she gets back on the computer.

Becca - Sounds like you are ready for the holiday. Your house is clean and you have baked goods done.

I made a coffee cake today. I took it out of the pan per the directions and it broke. I should have waited. I used some of the boysenberries I have in the freezer. It is delicious!

I got the kitchen and dining room floors clean this morning. This morning was my day to clean the dining room. This afternoon I have a Zoom sew-in.

Tonight's dinner will be a repeat of last night's Autumn Soup and Cheese Biscuits.

Good evening!

Started out this morning in the dark and now it is dark again! Oh well, been a busy day.

Made the pumpkin pies and a batch of divinity. Mostly to make sure I still could. It worked this time perfectly. Also salted my roast for tomorrow. Doing that helps the flavoring as well as tenderizing.

Tina - those tamales look picture perfect and I know they were yummy! We like a polenta tamale instead of masa. Still getting up the courage to try them. Maybe Christmas, no one will be here, just a laid back day. Love the LA! What's the overhead bar forL

Becca - Michael is having me make a list of the cleaning chores that are hard for me to do, so we can have a cleaning lady too.

Well, Sarah just showed up together Ethan, see ya tomorrow !

Hugs,
Jana

Carol, I had a regular straight stitch machine on a grace frame, the throat was regular sewing machine size, this one is a 15" Handi Quilter with the metal frame. There's lots to learn. It does load a little different, almost backwards of what my other one did I think. I can do an 84" wide quilt or do quilts in sections then sew them together kinda like a QAYG project. I think I'll try a king size but divide it in maybe 4 pieces then sew those pieces together like QAYG and see how it goes....I don't make king size that often.
Oh before I forget, Holly found the little deer quilt and asked for it LOL
I'm taking a break while the dishwasher runs. I don't think we'll get everything made this year because when I woke up at 4 this morning I started getting those very painful small burst migraine pains so I've been really slow going today. Plus I'm dog tired.
Jana, it's an overhead light bar but the wrong clips were sent so he called HQ yesterday and they're sending the right ones to us and he showed Frankie how to clip them in when they get here. I also have a light rope thing attached up under the throat so I should have plenty of light to quilt by 😊 I bet your tamales will turn out yummy yummy too!

Tina, you are one busy lady. Love your new LA. I took the easy way out and bought my tamales. They are wonderful. We get them every year.

I made banana bread, cranberry orange bread, peanut butter and chocolate cookies today. I took the cookies to the neighbors while they were still warn. I will take up some yummies to my parents tomorrow.

Not sure about dinner, but it's probable cereal or something in the fridge already made.

Have a lovely evening.
