Supper Club, Sunday, Dec 20

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Dec 20, 2020 4:33 am

Good morning!

I heard the coyotes again last night. This is why Foxy is never allowed outside when it’s dark.

Yesterday was very stormy w/ hard rain, lightening & thunder but afternoon cleared up and was nice. I cut fabric for Norm & Nanette. My sis asked us to come over for baked potato bar and after that they came here for marathon game of Mexican Train. We have more space in our trailer. Today’s activity - sewing Norms. I’m still waiting on package from QIAD that was supposed to arrive a week ago. (Frixion pens and a pattern). Bill has had two orders go permanently astray since we’ve been here. This seems to be the norm anymore.

Lori, you are right - I do enjoy more challenging patterns - but not when sewing in my trailer. Work Space is VERY limited. I love your snowman! Very cute! Thx for posting a photo.

Jana, i guess you could always make a hankerchief hemline. 😁. You will love your new sewing center! Even in busy times, eight weeks is a long time for them to keep your machine. During the first state wide shut down because of Covid, they only kept my machine for three weeks - then curbside pick up. And I, too, want the right technician working on my machines. I carry a maintenance agreement on both of them at the Bernina dealer and get them cleaned about three times a year.

Tina, what a sad story about the dogs/ chickens, calves. I know that’s how it goes in farm/ ranch country. But I only meant to ask if you found the owners or still had the dogs. 😬

Becca i really hope your back improves. Sometimes when I sew a lot or do handwork it gets my back or shoulders. Could all the knitting have made things worse?

Carol, I have no idea what projects are in the green and red quilt book. Does your Quilt have a name that we could Google?

I think today will be Somewhat OK, weatherwise. We are going to grill Yankee dips. And have a green salad. There will be a lasagna coming up in our very near future to, I think. I have all of the Fixin’s. Maybe Christmas?

what’s for supper for you tonight?

PS- I finally got phone to cooperate and posted a pic of my village houses.

Good morning!
Oops Mary sorry about the TMI.
I finished the banana nut bread, I made 11 loaves! 6 or 7 will be going as Christmas gifts, I give them away on Christmas Eve along with a huge tray of all kinds of goodies. Some leave here on Christmas or the day after, just depends.... this year I'll drop off for my nephew at my brother's house early so we're not around any of them, they don't wear masks 🤷‍♀️ I'll wear a mask when I drop off... outside at the fence.
Lori your snowman is so stinkin cute! ❤
Mary, I love your happy little village! I think I'll go live there, there's no covid!
I didn't cook last night because Dad didn't feel like coming over and he just wanted a sandwich for supper so he made it himself. Frankie threw us a burger on the grill so that's what we ate.
I have everything to make lasagna so that'll be supper here for tonight and tomorrow night.
I found an envelope in my closet yesterday with a little bear quilt kit in it, I'm going to put that top together today. Tomorrow starts the serious baking here so I won't get to sew much if any until after Christmas.

Mary, yeah, I guess small spaces call for easy. We have Coyotes here, so the girls only get to go out during the day when the boys are with them. They come in when I call them. It took some training when they were little.

Tina, mister snowman it about 36 inches or so. It's actually a lap quilt. I might make another on for next year. This was a kit, and I'm not crazy about the fabric.

I had to clean up my sewing room yesterday, because I couldn't find the buttons Frosty. So now the room is tidy. I pulled out the box of spools I had started a few months back. I work on that quilt.

My Sister's birthday was Friday, so she finally got her quilt. She loved it. I have quite a bit of leftover fabrics that I'm going to send to here. She really likes the fabric.

It's almost time for DH to get back from breakfast, so I need to get ready to take the boys to the park.

Have a lovely day.

Maryz - The quilt is called Heritage Mountain by Sheryl Johnson. I looked for it online and couldn't find it.

Jana - How is Sarah today? Did you hem the dress for Emma or are you waiting until you see her?

Becca - Back trouble is not fun! Rest and take care of yourself.

Today I want to make Fudge. I have a few cards to send too (not Christmas cards although I am doing a catch up one). Also a little yard work. We got up early and went to 7:00 Mass and I feel a nap needing to happen.

Tonight's dinner will be Stuffed Pepper Casserole.

Good afternoon!

Technical difficulitites here with my desktop computer, so Michael has been troubleshooting it. Seems to be fine now.

Sarah is doing very well. Getting stronger every day. She is getting antsy to be back to her normal running around self. It would be nice if she learned to slow down a bit, but that ain't happening! At the end of sod season this year, she told me was wasn't going to work again this next year - not - they gave her a very nice raise to keep her. so she is staying. Oh well......

The Batt Cave is quite a bit cleaner now. Put all the fabrics away and projects in boxes to be more organized. I can even see my desk top again! I use a track ball, a mouse would have no place to move on my desk normally.

I will have Emma out tomorrow to measure the hem on the dress.

Dinner - chicken caesar salads. Easy and I can make goodies. Like I really need them!

Stay Safe!
Hugs
Jana

Tina - Thank you! Yes!! I am changing the colors. I will make the middle star gold and use more green than red.
