Supper Club - Sun, Nov 29

Good morning,

Yesterday it rained off and on all day. Mostly on. Got two walks in between showers. I found a wet dollar bill in one empty campsite. My reward for braving the elements. Also got a lot of sewing in while Bill & Al watched Bruce Willis in Deathwish. If we have one more rainy day my Fox in the Birches quilt top will be done. Then i guess I will start on my “So This Is Christmas” reindeer quilt. I am blatantly copying Lori as I fell in love with hers!

Our weather here should dry up but high temps for next 10 days will range only 55-64 with lows into 30’s. (One night is predicted to be 28’!) Hmmmm... maybe we should rethink this “going south to be warm” plan....

No sign or word yet about Vicki. As far as we can tell by accessing our security cameras she is still at home. We can see smoke drifting from her chimney now and then.

And today is the last day before my brother’s wife is admitted to the memory care facility. He is dreading this. No family can see her after this because of Covid. Even if they allow “Window visits” that’s not really feasible in winter in Fairbanks. They have been married 60 years. 😢. A difficult time for him.

Irish, did you ever get your cross-stitch stuff sorted out? Sorting and organizing is my “thing”. Wish I’d been there to help! It will be fun to decorate your new house. Maybe some new decorations are in order?...

Tina - only one more sleep!!! But no set-up date yet?

Jana- good catch on those packages!

Lori - is it soup yet??

Becca - I hope CA’s appts are spaced out with a rest day in between. Are all the shoes finished or are you still in the cobbler business?

Tonite’s supper is going to be some sort of pasta, the sort and the sauce to be named later. Maybe it will end up being beefaroni.

What’s cooking in your head for tonite’s menu?

PS. Supper update. My sister is offering to put a little ham in her oven and make a pasta salad. And we are invited! Not sure how she can manage pasta salad with one arm but she has a handy husband. So no cooking for me! 😋

Mary, how wonderful to have someone else to cook for you. Sounds like you had a good sewing day yesterday. I will make the "So This is Christmas" quilt again for me. I'm going to change up the fabric though. That will be for next year. And yes, there was delicious soup for dinner last night.

Today we take the boys to the park, then a little bit of cleaning. After that I will be sewing on another Christmas quilt. It's almost done.

Dinner is up in the air. Maybe left over soups.

Have a lovely day.
