SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Nov 8th
Posted: Sun Nov 08, 2020 5:23 am
Good morning!
Departure day is finally here! All the planning, all the packing, all the arranging. We're both excited. Not planning a really early departure, though. Only going about 115 miles today and will park in a casino parking lot (free!). It's a sort of jumping off place. We had another jumping off place - a cool little RV park right on the Columbia River and we could sit and watch the ships go up and down river in front of us and trains go by in back of us. But that park is now gone. :>( Tomorrow night we'll be in southern Oregon at another Casino - Seven Feathers. We're not gamblers but we do, in non-Covid times, patronize their restaurants in exchange for a night of free parking. This year will be different, though. No restaurants.
I will have my phone only for the next 2 weeks so I hope y'all will go on without me! I'll check in when I can.
JANA - you are right - masks have become an artform to make and a fashion statement to wear! I've made seasonal ones for us, my sis/DBIL, and for Autumn (when we get there). I should probably grab some Valentine and St. Pat's fabrics so I can make more on the road! I'm still just using the pattern from Jenny Doan way back in March. You'll do great in your classes! After you get the first one under your belt you'll wonder why you were anxious. And for the record - I've met you in person! You do NOT have an "ugly mug"! You are very pretty! Just want everyone to know!
LORI - I think these puppy-sitting gigs are actually vacations for you! They would be for me! And I love your vacation buddies! They all look like sweeties!
BECCA - how does your DGS like his new home? I assume their stuff is being trucked to them. Has it arrived yet? How is Wyatt doing? I remember when my son, Mike, broke both bones in his right forearm at age 12, after the first week, he was back to normal activities, just with a dirty cast on his arm! lol! I hope Wyatt does just as well.
I wonder if CAROL got her new kitty? Bill's sis sent us a picture of her little grandson yesterday with his new black and white kitty. He named it Skittles. Such a cute name for a pet!
I don't know what supper will be tonite but I'm thinking possibly chili. I have a 2-serving package of leftovers tucked into the trailer freezer. And we'll probably eat from the freezer for the most part during our travels. We are taking our trip slowly and leisurely. Otherwise my driver tends to get a bit surly. So we will arrive at our destination in Austin Nov 22nd. My sis and DBIL will meet us there that day and we'll stay in one spot until Dec 30th. Depending on the Covid situation, I'd love to take a day run to visit Cindy and Sue near Houston during our time there. It's about a 3-1/2 hr drive each way. But we'll see. This isn't the year to go socializing without good reason! Especially not with folks with health issues.
Stay healthy! Stay fed! And I'll see you on my phone when I can!
