SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Nov 4th

Good morning,
The Day After. And no real results!! I hope it's all settled before we leave town. And Bill decided yesterday that will be Saturday afternoon after Scottie gets back from his hair appt. So we only have 3 more sleeps to go. My sis saw her orthopod yesterday and she is good to go to Texas with us! Yay! No surgery, no cast, no brace. Just a sling. But she has to be back in CO early Jan for a re-check. They are thinking now that she perhaps fainted or had a TIA. She just remembers thinking to be careful on the last step coming out of the RV and then waking up on the pavement. No defensive wounds to indicate she tried to catch herself. So now she is going to have some neuro/cranial exams. She will be 78 at Thanksgiving.
Yesterday it poured rain and the hardest of it came down when I was out on my morning walk.
Scott and I got drenched! A hot shower felt so good I stayed in there and scrubbed the shower! Got me in the mood so then I deep cleaned the rest of our master bath, gave our bedroom, family room, and kitchen a quick lick, and did 3 loads of wash. Then I cut more "Fox" fabric. I even made a nice chicken dinner before sitting down to watch the election returns. And we're still left hanging, but then we expected that.
Today - more fabric play, pack RV freezer and some fridge, vac & mop. Our house-sitter is coming this evening to be shown the ropes, given keys, etc. He's a 38 yr old psychologist and his parents are our best friends so they are all coming, too, and I'm making a pot of chili with cornbread and blackberry cobbler. I'm also going to try a new appetizer - dried figs wrapped in bacon and baked. I experimented on Bill a few days ago and he pronounced them "good enough for who they're for".
LORI - How long will you be in Utah? How great to have a sewing space all set up there so you can sew to your heart's content! Your son has quite a prestigious job with Lockheed Martin! My nephew does electrical work on Boeing jets. He is closing in on retirement soon. You don't by any chance have your reindeer pattern with you, do you? I was thinking if you had the approximate fabric requirements, just maybe I could find a spot to tuck in a little more more fabric . . . I have WOW with a reindeer pattern but only a yard. I do have five yards of a snowflake though . .
TINA - Years ago Bill and I used to have a little cottage industry where we went to homes and assembled a specific kind of long arm and frame for people. Your room looks like it has plenty of maneuverable space. You could probably even set up your machine, add a chair, and even an ironing board and they would still have plenty of room. BTW, we made rezzies at Dreamcatcher for Nov 19th. But because of Covid, we will be laying very low so while, if it's OK, we'd like to stop and see your room and give you the blackberries I promised you (I didn't forget!), we won't be lingering. Would be awful if we unknowingly picked up the virus somewhere along the line and dropped it at your house! Most RV parks have no contact now when registering and we don't stop anyplace along the way except for fuel so likelihood of that happening is pretty remote - but we want to take no chances! We can tie those berries to a ten foot pole and pass them in your sewing room window!
JANA - so what all do you put on dinner nachos? Just curious . . . I add cooked hamburger, diced chilies, olives, queso or shredded cheddar, and whatever else I can find. But for snack nachos it's usually just cheese. Personally, I think you should get another pet. Think of those homeless pets who would love a forever home for Christmas! Your grands would love it! My machines are all 'he's'. Didn't plan it but, like life, that's how it happened. My machines are "Stitch" and "Chip" and the LA is "The Quiltinator" (though it's lavender in color so maybe he's gay?). Who knew boys could be sewing machines!
CAROL - So what is the new kitty like that you found? Is he/she already named or will you name it. If it comes to a lottery, I sure hope you win!! Because I know the kitty would be the real winner!!
BECCA - If I post from my phone I always have to sign in. And if you hit submit, but someone else has posted since you started typing your post, it won't go. You have to hit submit again. That still catches me once in a while. And if it's "rush hour" you may have to hit submit 3 or even 4 times! So perhaps that's the problem you had yesterday? My DH loves all soups and would be happy if we had it several days a week! Congrats on finishing your Nativity! Is it for you? If you said, I've forgotten. I really try to remember everything everyone says, but some days it's harder than others. . .
CHICKIE - Glad your DH was able to find the ballot box! I suppose a cardboard box just wouldn't have done . . . Covid is so cute - even in typed posts! I love that he thinks of you as his mama. And I'm suspecting you do, too!
So, that's what's happening here and on our table tonite. Chili, cornbread, and blackberry cobbler. How about you?
