SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Nov 1st

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Nov 01, 2020 4:14 am

Good morning!

We have a blue moon! They only happen once in - well - a blue moon! The second full moon in a single month. Purrfect for trick-or-treating! It was a great fall day here yesterday and an even better one is forecast for today. After that we'll get wet and chilly. Bill blew off the roof and cleaned gutters yesterday and got half the leaves (that are down so far) blown off the cement parking pads. He plans to finish today and then mow one last time. This is the FIRST TIME EVER in 30 years he is doing yard work on his own - and without being asked or hinted at! He HATES working in the yard. I'm kind of like "who are you and what did you do with my husband?"

Yesterday I finished my sister's placemats. I'll give them to her and Al at Christmas, I think. Assuming they will still be going to TX with us. She of the broken shoulder. I also got all the laundry done yesterday and so packed most of my clothes into the trailer. Bill is on his own per his own choice. Today, for me, some major uglies. Ugh! Plus put away Halloween and bring out a few Christmas quilts and swap the door wreath. I'm doing that for our house-sitter. He seemed excited when we told him he could put up a Christmas tree if he wanted. Which I thought was kind of funny since he is part Jewish! lol! If I get all done that I want/need, I might play a little in my sewing room with birds or foxes.

CAROL - I'm so sorry for your loss of your sweet kitty. I know how much it hurts. But you had many good years with her and may those memories be a comfort. Furry hugs to you!

BECCA - I'm so glad the limbs are all taken care of! I'd LIKE to think the HOA planned to all along but had to get the ball rolling and the chipper in. Poor Wyatt! He went through a lot! I hate seeing little ones suffer like that.

JANA - I think you had the purrfect Halloween! I'll take a rootbeer float, please! Did Ethan dress up? And is your team still undefeated? Who did they play? I guess I need to know that before I cheer! lol!

CHICKIE - So happy to have you at the table! I bet those three little babies were so cute in costumes! Did you take any pix? Your weather has been keeping you on your toes! It's funny that folks come for wood when the weather turns cold - unless Doyal is selling seasoned wood, it really needs to season a year or so before burning it! I've never had chili over macaroni though it sounds good. But I do like it over a baked potato. Would that be "spud red"?

We had our roast beef finally. I think I did an OK job on it, but hard to tell for me since I don't really care much for beef, rarely make it, and when I do, NO PINK! Tonite - hash with diced beef, potatoes, and lots of onions in it. And either a salad or some brussels sprouts on the side. The lettuce is going quickly, so that may be the deciding factor.

What's happening in your kitchen tonite?

Good morning!
Mary, all ready to hit the road! Frankie doesn't do very well on the yard work either, I don't understand it..... he hates being cooped up inside and he could just piddle around in the yard and keep it top notch 🤷‍♀️ he'll help me when I go out and do but he just doesn't do much on his own.
We bought the trim paint yesterday but we didn't get home till 7 and I was exhausted, I get stressed when we have to go anywhere. I have most my Thanksgiving food now just need the Turkey and the fresh fruits and veggies but that'll be closer to the day I'm thinking. I've had to go into stores now for 2 weekends in a row and I'd rather not have to go back for a long while.
I woke up at 5 after a very nice straight 6 hours of sleep, I'm ready to start taping and painting my trim but my helper is still in bed.
We did pick up another piece of trim for our bedroom because we had bought 10' pieces last time and we needed a 10'5" piece for one wall and I didn't want it pieced. So today is all about trim 🤣😂
Carol, I'm so sorry for the loss of your kitty, I know it's so heartbreakingly hard. Hugs
Chickie, so good to see you post! Your weather sounds as crazy as ours lately. Did you take pics, it sure sounds like there was cuteness overload at your house ❤
Irish, sounds like you are doing sooooo much better. Sorry for your rough day, hugs.
Becca, I'm so glad someone cleared the branches for you.
Well the sun is coming up so I think I should get my helper up. He's always complaining that he needs to get up earlier, I might as well help him this morning! LOL
Dad's coming for supper tonight but that's all I know about supper so far LOL

Carol, so sore to hear about Amie. Glad you got to be with her. Big hug.

Jana, I love a yummy root beer float.

Mary, you're going to love that quilt. It's so darn cute.

Well I'm off to Utah this morning. I'll be flying this trip.
I arrive at 1030, so I'll spend the day with DS. He leaves for AZ tomorrow.

Don't know what we'll have for dinner tonight.

Have a lovely day.

Good morning!

Part of church is complete, but now the rest is a zoom meeting and someone signed in on the wrong link and goofed up many. Oh the perils of technology! So I am cutting church and came here!

Not much here. Sarah and Ethan will be here a few more days for best protocol with quarantine. Sarah's DH is negative and so is his other cousin. This cousin has stayed at Sarah's, since his own personal family had no place he could be isolated. So 2 negative tests! There is a distinct possibility that the original person who tested positive was a false positive as the test given was the spit test, which is notoriously wrong. Dodged another bullet!

Dinner - maybe a stuffed baked potato. Or clean out the refrigerator day. There is plenty, Ethan won't be hungry.

Michael is working on clock turning. If my count is right, there are 20 clocks which takes a bit of time, ha ha. Some will do themselves, but he usually turns off the automatic updates. He says he should bill the government for his time! When he worked at BART, they did pay him, as he had to travel all over the Bay Area to fix the time clocks., twice a year, when he was the train control foreman. He worked up through the ranks before all his years as a engineer.

It was a good thing to check out the site for sod delivery in Wanship. A steep grade, between 8 and 9 percent, hairpin turns, no place to turn around, and a single lane road, not to mention, it was a gated community. Way too much for a semi with a 53 trailer and donkey attached. A donkey is the forklift used to unload the pallets of sod.. So the installer is going to have to figure out how to get 3500 sq feet of sod up that steep road, about 2 miles. Not fun!

Mary - time will fly quick before you leave. Good to have a house sitter all that time. Michael too is slow in yard things. He really doesn't know a weed from a good plant, so he says, so leaves them all. Me, if it gets over grown, give me the weed whacker!

Ethan just coaxed for ranch, so better get going,

Stay Safe!

Hugs,
Jana

Good afternoon from a rainy but right now, sunny, SW. Pa....Talk about crazy weather, one minute, thunder, next the sun and then pouring down rain...AND I think there might be some snow in our forecast for tomorrow....
Yesterday, I delivered my meals...I do like to make sure Kevin is eating although, his neighbors are still taking very good care of him...He even has 1 who will call and ask him if he has a choice for dinner, lol...But, we were on his porch when Trick or treating began and Kevin said, he hadn't bought very much candy and was hoping his "favorite" kids came 1st....Well, sure enough, his favs came and he dumped the whole bucket in their bags and said, that's it, I'm done....Then I went to my sisters and sat with her for about 1/2 an hour... She's on a country road so no one comes to her door unless it's the kids or grands...But, she's doing well, we compared our ailments and complained about being so tired, lol....

Mary, Usually men are outdoor people...Jim couldn't wait to get outside and "do something"...I think he would have had the lawn mower out every day if he hadn't found something else to do...He really was a worker..But, he also could take care of the inside...I often said, he was probably better at housework that I was plus taking care of the kids...I know and probably have said this many times, he changed AND washed more diapers than I did...I was very, very blessed......And I'm with you with the meat, no pink......

Carol, so sorry about your Amie...They are part of our family and really do leave a huge hole in our hearts...Hold onto all the good memories, keep them close....

Jana, I'd love to have a root beer float...And if it wasn't raining, I'd have to zip down to our Dollar General for some root beer...(Not sure it's a good idea, having the store so close)...

Tina, There you go again, busy, busy, busy.....I think I'm just about as excited about your "room" as you are.....You will take pictures, won't you?

Not sure what I might get into today...Poor Baby Girl was so mixed up with the time change...She's already on her 2nd nap....If nothing else, I might join her....The gal who cuts my hair is back to cutting and Lord knows I need a trim but that means going out...(She lives 2 streets away, so far)..I'll jump at it if she calls and volunteers to come to the house....But, I have a feeling, it's going to be a very, very lazy day.......I have visions in my head about putting up the winter curtains in the bedroom but so far, those visions are staying in my head......

As for dinner, I still have the chicken ala king but this would be a good day for veggie soup.....Just might have to do a little cooking......

You all have a great rest of the day.......

Happy eating..................

Thank you all for your kind thoughts. DH and I are all ready to make an appointment at the animal shelter so we can get another cat. We loved Amie very much!

Tonight's dinner is Macaroni and Cheese (homemade) and broccoli.

Today was spent running washing machine and cleaning up. I have lots of housework to do.

Jana- Glad you have the door in.
Mary - So glad you were able to make repairs on your RV and that they are completed.
Irish - I am glad you have recovered.
Becca - Glad you are better and have lots of help too!
Lori - Have a good trip!
Carol

Hi everyone! Thought I'd swing by and let you all know that all the trim and baseboards are all painted! I army crawled 3 times around, 1 to tape the floor and wall so I didn't 🤞 get paint on the new paint on the walls and 2 more times around for the first then second coats of paint. My ribs hurt and my back, guess I'll be taking some ibuprofen tonight and soak in a warm tub! I love the sage green! Yes, I'll take pics, I'll take some tomorrow after Frankie and Jazmyne get the trim back up. And then again when I get my new baby! And hopefully after I get everything moved back in. ...... it'll be a process LOL
