SUPPER CLUB - Sat, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Good morning!
Happy Halloween! Tomorrow is November. Where did summer go?? Only 55 days until Christmas. I say Bring It On! We do very little Christmas shopping and that is mostly done. I do want to give Bill something but have no idea what. He gives me NO hints and the things he wants are usually some specific kind of tool or electronics thing or something for the truck. ???? For someone who thinks in fabric that's not a lot to go on . . . If I do actually buy one of those things, it's always wrong and he returns it. I think he'd like a dash cam for the truck, but there again - which one?? Maybe my son-in-law can help me . . .
Yesterday I finished winterizing the deck - last of the cushions went to the shop. We leave the furniture but rearrange it to protect it from the bad weather side where rain blows in under the roof. (Think it's a coincidence that that's also the Vicki side?) Then I got into placemats and made a set of two for our friends (Tex & Annette) who are buying a new-to-them 2018 Arctic Fox fifth-wheel. They have an '05 Fox but now will sell it. Anyway, they get new placemats for their new rig and I also made a set for my sister's new Fox. I will quilt and bind hers today. We don't use placemats inside our trailer, but it's sure nice when you stop for a quick picnic lunch or short overnight to have something to put on the picnic table without having to rassle with the big tablecloth. And we never want to go without some kind of table covering. Have you seen the things people do on picnic tables?? Clean fish, brush dogs, spill stuff, plus birds hop all over them - and you know what birds do!! So placemats are ideal.
Today's big attraction will be showing downstairs in the laundry room. The hamper is overloaded and going down!! So this means that once all our clothes are clean, we'll be packing them into trailer. We always take at least 2 weeks worth of clothes. I also think I will start cutting some of my new Fox in the Pines fabric. Some of the pieces are quite large and will be much easier to cut here on my cutting table than in the trailer.
TINA - did you get the trim done? And while you're re-newing your room, will the curtains, if any, change? My room is pale yellow with white trim and white lace curtains. Been that way for many years and I still love it. So what do you do about PE for the kids? I'd hand that off to Grandpa!!
BECCA - that's too bad about all the limbs getting tossed on your side of the road. I'm wondering if that development has a Homeowners Assoc. A letter to them might be helpful. We have the same problem with some of our neighbors that border our back woods. And we really can't see what they are doing unless we thrash our way through the woods to check.
JANA - I've had projects like your Minnie where I end up not liking my original plan so made up a new one! Anxious to see your finished product! Glad your door is in! Are you going to replace the other door with another slider or french doors or sliding french doors, or?? I love the look of french doors but seems like they would be harder to clean with all the little panes instead of one big one. Also, we have a dog and he scratches the door to get out.
IRISH - thought of you on "your day". I know how those days can be. But how lucky for you to have had the best for so long! God bless. For a recovering "Covid-ite" you DID have a busy day when you cooked, cleaned the kitchen, and all after getting dressed, too! Because of you, I made chicken ala king a few months back. Used to make it all the time in my old life and forgot all about it! Yum!
LORI - thanks for the info on your reindeer quilt! For some reason it really appeals to me. I ordered it this morning! I probably won't get to it until next spring, when we come home to my stash (and I have all the fabrics I need!) but it will be fun to look forward to.
CAROL - a lot of folks are scurrying to get in appts that have been put off because of Covid. We are finally done with ours until we start over again in the spring. Hugs to you and your DH and your sweet little Amie.
Our pizza last night was really good. I piled on everything I could think of. We have leftovers for breakfast/lunch. I'm doing a beef roast in the oven for tonite. It's thawed and waiting for me. My mom always cut slits and inserted slices of fresh garlic. I'll do that, too, season it, and brown it before slipping it into a slow oven to finish cooking. I think I'll add roasted potatoes and brussels sprouts. I also have salad makings that need to be used. We're going to feast tonite! In honor of Halloween I should make a pumpkin pie but that ain't happening.
What kind of beast are you feasting on tonite?
