SUPPER CLUB - Friday, Oct 30th

Good blustery morning. We're mild but damp and breezy here. But sunshine is on its way!
Yesterday I got more proficient with my machine alphabets (I don't have an embroidery machine) and finished up my 3 labels and got them sewn on so I could stow those quilts away under the trailer bed. They went in first because they will be needed last - hence, I had to do the labels I'd been putting off. Then we got our underneath storage bins all squared away as well as everything inside. Now, clothes (next wash day), fridge, an last minute items are all that's left to pack. And we still have 9 days until we leave. I may have to fill in that time sewing . . . Either start putting my embroidered state birds together or start my fox quilt.
TINA - Bill's ankle aches a bit but otherwise is OK. I think he's going to live! I vote for the green trim, too. When I see mauve I always think "80's", not my best decade. Can you paint the trim even after the machine arrives if that's how events fall? As to school, I don't know what 'specials' is/are. Glad you have a top to quilt. If you like, I can bring you a few!
BECCA - glad the tree didn't do any damage where it fell. I would leave it. Tell CA that downed trees can be ornamental in a yard.

and oh my yes! I'm kind of an impatient person and many times have only skimmed or completely neglected reading directions to patterns. What a mess I've made of things over the years. Wouldn't you think I'd learn by now?
JANA - things seem to be coming together at your house! Just in time for Christmas decorating! It's never too early! And I believe you are being efficient when you make enough of anything to freeze half. Not lazy at all! Your soup sounds interesting. How did you make it?
TINA (again) - I always seem to do my experimenting when we have company. And my company always laughs because they do it, too! I would probably consider calling the store just to check that everything is still a 'go' on the machine and things haven't gone FUBAR on their end.
CAROL - I'm so sorry about your kitty. We love them so much, it's hard to let them go. We've sat and loved on so many furbabies in their final days over the years. What does the vet say? I've been thinking of your kitty, but kind of afraid to ask. What is her name?
I know yesterday I promised you roast beef for tonite but remembered I have leftover pizza sauce and pepperoni in the fridge so we're having pizza tonight instead. With mushroooms, onions, green pepper, black olives, and bacon. I LOVE not starving!
What about you?

Good morning!
No kids today so my trim in my bedroom is going up!
Mary, we have to get the trim up in my sewing room before the machine arrives because there's ladders involved with the trim. My machine is supposed to ship out Monday, I'm so excited! Not sure how long it'll take to ship though. Then we have to schedule the delivery and set up here at my house day. At least the paint is having a nice long time to set.
You're 9 days away from leaving and sounds like you're almost all ready in the 5er! I vote to put your state bird top together and then start your Fox quilt LOL 9 days to you is like 6 months for me, you can whip both of those out!
Oh, specials are PE, Art, music..... kinda like electives, just fun things so the kids get a break from regular classes..... great when school is in but not so great when it just adds stress of getting 3 extra things done on top of the online and homework of the regular learning.
Dad's coming for supper so think I'll make pork chops and zucchini and maybe mac and cheese.
Tina

Good afternoon!
The new door is buttoned up, just needs the finishing trim work, which will be Monday. Getting used to seeing out onto my deck and to the north. The other door we will be replacing, my sliding door onto the other side of the deck will be in the Spring. Too cold by the time we wait for the order and then the install.
Not much here. Sandee's house refrigerator broke yesterday. They had a company come out on a emergency basis and it was a computer circuit board. The company found one and is installing it today. Sandee borrowed coolers from our house and turned on the RV refrigerator, so she didn't lose anything.
Minnie update - the alternate blocks are being punted to Acme Landfill. Didn't work the way I had hoped. So the quilt will be slightly smaller. That won't bother little Karlie, as she is just turning 5 the end of November. One row smaller in width and length. The borders will make some of that loss up. So I am heading to the Batt Cave to assemble Minnie with sashings and borders.
Dinner - banned noodle cassarole - didn't get made the other day, will today. My Cordon Bleu soup was off a Pinterest recipe. Basically a thickened white sauce, added potatoes that were precooked, in chicken stock, stock and all,, then shredded chicken from Costco and cubes of ham. Then stirred in Swiss cheese until melted and gooey. I will post the recipe, when I am not on my tablet. My termite, Ethan loved it and has eaten the leftover for his lunch the past two days.
Better scoot,
Hugs,
Jana

Good later afternoon from, would you believe, just as I started to type, the sun came out...See what you gals do?
I've had a busy day even got dressed early just because the maintenance guy was coming and so far, he hasn't showed up....He'll probably stop on his way home but that's OK.....I did get the Chicken ala king made and even baked a Sho Fly Cake...I have my containers ready for Kevin and JoAnn, just need to get them delivered.....If not today, 1st thing in the morning....Not sure why I said, I was busy, that was about it but at least the kitchen is nice and clean now, lol.....
Mary, glad to hear your "walking wounded" will survive...And my heavens, you've been as busy as ever...I can imagine how excited you must be getting about "getting out of town"....2 of my gal friends left for Florida and my "used to be best friend" keeps sending me pictures of the beach....Of course Kathy keeps sending me pictures of Arizona and then she did say, they were headed for Idaho until next Wed. I want to be like Kathy in my next life.......
Yum, pizza....I haven't had pizza since the day, we played cards and contacted Covid....Pizza was good but the rest, no so, lol......But, your's really sounds good......
Jana, do you still have snow? I told Kathy but I don't think they care, said, they packed their heavy coats and boots...With your new door, does this mean you have to rearrange the furniture? Or is this why you're looking at new? I've only been here 7 months and I'm thinking about moving my bedroom around...I like changes....
Becca, all your "clearing" has worn me out....We've been very lucky, no storms up here or in my area...I have a few leaves in the yard but when Kevin mows, he mulches so we're OK...I probably should have him look at the gutters and I still have lots and lots of flowers that are still in bloom that will need pulled out but we haven't really had a hard frost yet......
Tina, I honestly don't know how you do it all.....I'm glad you went with the sage, my favorite color....You aren't excited about your new toy, are you????Let's just say, we're all excited for you......
I think tonight might be our trick or treat night but from what I've heard, no one will be handing out candy..Our state is having a huge surge in covid 19 and people have decided to stay home and be safe....But, we still have those who think they are invincible, still want to go out and fuss about wearing the mask....
Yesterday was a hard day for me....Would you believe it was 6 years since we lost Chris and it would have also been my 66th anniversary.....Just hard to believe how time is flying by......
Guess I'll be having my chicken al a king tonight although I've been sampling it all afternoon....(Remember me saying about not having any fat on the behind????Well, it's coming back, probably more than before, lol)......
You all have a great rest of the day........
Happy eating............................

Good Evening,
Today was an eye appointment.
Becca - I need to schedule and get a mammo too! My Doctor said to get all these appointments done in the next few weeks, because Covid is going to get worse. I have a dental cleaning appointment on Nov. 16th.
Mary - Our cat is named Amie, the French word for friend. She made it through today, but we think she will not make many more days, perhaps even tonight. I had to go out this afternoon and it was very clear she was glad to see me when I got home. She is a very sweet kitty!!!
Dinner tonight was clean the refrigerator of leftovers. It was bits and pieces of several meals.
