Good morning,

We had quite a storm yesterday complete with house-shaking bolts of thunder right over our shaking house! Lots of limbs and small branches down so I guess there will be some storm clean-up on our agenda today. Along with grocery shopping and laundry. My sister should be arriving tomorrow so I need to firm up my menu plans for their visit and make my lists. I try to have the laundry all done just before they arrive so not only do I not have to mess with it during their week here but then the Maytags are free to dance with my sister! They spent last night in Ogden 800 miles away.

My UGRR is half sewn together and the second half is well underway. Still hoping to have that top done before company arrives. But I'm not holding me to it!

BECCA - I hope CA is doing better today. Did someone stay with him while you were in the hospital? How is the Nativity coming along? I made a wallhanging Nativity several years ago. I used embroidery floss for beards and hair. But thankfully, no movable arms and legs! What a fun project to work on leading up to Christmas.

JANA - no my sis went 80 thru WY so she missed actual SLC. But for us non-locals who fight our way through that whole area pulling trailers in the dark and the rain and rushhour and perpetual construction, it's all the "SLC Mess" almost from Tremonton to the 89 Cutoff to Richfield. When will your door be going in? What will the door go out to? If I remember right there is quite a slope from the back of your house. Did you extend your deck off the kitchen? Or will there just be a stairway down? Or ??? The "Toilet Seat Syndrome"! I'm very familiar with it though never knew it's 'official' name before! lol! We started to patch a rotten spot in our closet wall back in 1995 and FIVE YEARS LATER finally got the new living room furniture! That little project led us on a series of home-improvements throughout the entire house culminating in the couch I'm sitting on right now.

TINA - Did you not see the gruesome irony in your post yesterday? "Going to town for chicken feed and picking up a rotisserie chicken for dinner." :o

I believe tonight's supper is going to be chicken noodle casserole. And salad. Or homemade pizza. Not sure which. My sis and DBIL (Al & Tina) will be here for supper tomorrow so whichever one I decide to make for them, we will have the other one tonite. Or maybe macaroni and cheese . . . Still thinking.

What are you thinking about for supper?

Good afternoon!

Been busy here in the house. Moved a no longer necessary dresser from our bedroom to the Batt Cave, for life down there. Then washed the rest of my folding chairs - they are covered with a ultra suede type fabric., light tan color. And the use they get with all the grandkids, they needed it. They scrubbed up very nicely. Now on into the bedroom. The door will be started tomorrow and we are being very careful in executing the order of work. That's to minimize the time the opening is to the outside with no door in place. We will most likely have a tarp for one night.

Didn't get the tortilla soup made, Ethan was here, so we did individual pizzas. He made his own and was tickled to make it. So soup tonight. A big batch, so I can freeze for future meals. Already restocking to soups in the freezer, labeling so there are no surprises.

Mary - forgot that route in from Colorado. Aaron does patrol that section in Weber Canyon, once a week or so. Hopefully they missed the most horrid road construction in the state right now. Just south of Ogden. We take the side roads and stay off the freeway there.

Becca - slow down! Hope you are better today.

Well, stalled long enough, better get going on my bedroom,

Hugs and prayers,
Jana

Hi everyone! I'm sliding in before I go start supper! The kids just left. Holly took Fall pics in their front yard and they look professional, so professional that Walgreens wanted a copy right release LOL she brought what she bought which made me want some so she did an order for me and that's why they left so late today.
Mary, I did notice that gruesome irony but it's better than us eating our pets LOL
Jana, I totally get the toilet seat syndrome! After we finished the 2 walls in our bedroom this last week Holly, Kevin and me all agree we need to do something with the other 2 walls but Frankie isn't on board yet. I think our bathroom needs a facelift too LOL. I hope your door is put in fast, we've been getting down in the low 40's at night! Brrrrrrr with no door!
Becca, yes you need to take it easy today for sure!
I did all the laundry today. The road department has been working on our road every Wednesday for the past 2 weeks and today they put some kind of tar sealant on it but didn't quite finish so I hope they finish that and get it striped ASAP. Frankie told me I was wasting my time and breath by filling the form out 3 months ago and then calling 1 month after and 2 more times. The squeaky wheel is getting the grease done here!
We've got wind blowing which is making dirt blow again today, could you all do a rain dance and send rain please?
I'm going to make cube steak and roasted veggies for supper.
Tina
