SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Oct 4th
Posted: Sun Oct 04, 2020 5:45 am
Good morning,
We are a little drippy this morning. It's been foggy the last several mornings. Yesterday it never lifted fully though we did get a lot of yard work done. We want to get back out there today, but all indications are that it's going to be cool and damp. So we'll see . . . . We're weather weenies.
I've been spending mornings in the sewing room and afternoons in the yard. I got 2 sets of UGRR Swap blocks trimmed up and my Christmas Swap blocks and sashing laid out on my design wall, aka, the living room floor. Then I got "Whisk" quilted and bound. I'll sew on the embellishments next and make the label. Then start putting the Christmas Swap top together. I'm trying to clean up all my UFO's before we go south for the winter. Counting this Christmas one on the floor, I have 4 tops to assemble (blocks are finished and squared). And I have 3 in the quilting queue right now. It's do-able. But you know life - always throwing a curve ball when you are expecting a slider!
JANA - I hope your door comes, soon, and that winter doesn't beat it - well - to your door! Sarah is really a jack of all trades, isn't she! What quilt is/was on your frame that may be Stu's Christmas gift? Did you finish your gnomes? I know you will be awesome teaching your class, though if you are like me, you work hard, get all prepared for your presentation, practice, arrange your notes, and then, when it's time, it all goes out the window and you end up "shooting from the hip". Never fails! And it always turns out just fine.
BECCA - We did some major pruning and clearing out yesterday, too. Even one branch makes a difference in letting the light in. Is your DGS worried over possibility of snow in Yellowstone? He must be choosing to go thru the park it as it's not on a direct route. We did have about an inch or so on Sept 7th when we were there so snow could happen, but they are good about clearing the roads. His move seems sudden, or did he just neglect to inform us about it? lol! But what a nice get-well gift for you! Will he be living close to you?
CAROL - Chickie is OK. Her quarantine was up a few weeks ago and no Covid. She says she is just busy. I haven't talked to her for about a week. We should go to the store, too. We are out of bread and down to stems and seeds on fresh stuff. Literally. But I can bake bread and plan to do that today.
Tonite's supper is still on the drawing board. I have a meatloaf in the freezer so it might be that with baked potatoes and a caprese salad. But another option would be split pea soup, my favorite. Waiting for input from my beloved, but he seems to have drifted back to bed. lol!
What menu ideas are drifting through your head?
