SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, OCT 1st !!
Posted: Thu Oct 01, 2020 5:58 am
Good morning,
Welcome to October! We are 55* this morning, going to about 75* by the afternoon. Not bad!
I actually did get to some ugl-lies yesterday. But not all of them. So today will be cleaning second bathroom, dusting everything, and dustmopping wood floors downstairs. The vacuuming really needs to be done, too, but that's not my job, Mon! Bill insisted we buy a monster 1-ton vacuum that puts me back on the chiropractor's table if I use it, and he promised he would do all the vacuuming from then on.
You can guess how that goes. I wait it out as long as I can stand it - couple weeks - before I start casually mentioning it. Then talking. Then firmly requesting. Then I get accused of nagging. But he eventually will do it - about every 3 weeks. Hopefully today will be the day. But to be fair, he has been really busy with outside stuff.
we saw the sheriff at Vicki's yesterday trying to serve her copy of the the anti-harassment order. We've seen them make 3 tries now. And she refuses to answer the door so they eventually go away. I'm not sure what happens if they can't get her to take it. It's my understanding that if they are unable to deliver it, then it's our responsibility to see that she does receive it somehow, delivered by anyone over 18. We've sent a copy to her son-in-law, Ben, so maybe he can do it. But then he has to come to our house to sign the receipt form verifying it was delivered and we have to return that to the court so they can mail it back to us! Crazy!
JANA - two yr olds! My favorite age! They are so cute!! And curious! I bet every mom had to make up a version of Mary Had a Little Lamb. My little sister cried that I had a song and she didn't, so my mom made up "Teesie had a little dog" and it was black as coal. You and I are doing almost the same thing on our projects. Good to have someone to 'sew with'.
I know you'll kick donkey at your Zoom class! And thank you for your sweet words about my stories. They printed them exactly as I wrote them and I love the pictures they put with them.
BECCA - So nice to have the hardest work done in the yard. I'm really glad about that. And there is a little leftover so you can get dirt under your nails - if you wish. Are you still tired from being sick? Takes a while to get strength back.
TINA - Bill said the exact same thing about the debates - they ought to turn off the mic's of whoever's turn it is NOT to speak! lol! The Looney Toons gang could have given us a better debate!
Our ZOOM court hearing was about 90 minutes. Though of course, our case only took about 10 minutes, but we had to sit through other cases being heard. It was interesting.
IRISH has been worrying me - told us she was exposed to Covid and then we heard nothing more. So I texted her and she responded that both she and her sister did indeed contract the virus. Both were in the hospital, very sick and miserable and her sister also contracted pneumonia. But both are expected to make full recovery, however, it's slow going.
I'm still thinking about supper tonight. Burgers come to mind since our weather is so nice. And a big green salad on the side. How is your supper story going to read?
