SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Sept 26

Good morning!
No rain! Hooray! But I think we have more on the way later today. But next week - just watch our sunshine! I have some yard work I need to do next week - pull in all the yard art - bunnies, squirrels, coyotes, etc - and some leaves to rake unless Bill will blow them instead. I am loving how we've simplified our yard and the less work it takes to keep it up. Last night the coyotes were howling about 1:00am and they were VERY close in our front woods. Foxtrot wasn't on the bed so I went looking for him upstairs. I didn't want him to become a snack! He was on the back of the couch, looking out the front window, eyes huge! I picked him up (no small feat - he's 17#) and started to carry him downstairs to the bedroom so we could shut him and Scott in with us. Scottie was barking his head off, Foxy was struggling, and a few times I thought we were all going to end up tumbling down the stairs but we made it! After all that it took me over an hour to go back to sleep.
Al & Tina will be leaving this afternoon. They are anxious to get home so they can come back again to get their new rig! My sister went to look at this trailer grumbling, telling me she didn't want a new trailer (their old one is falling apart, literally!), but her eyes are sparkling now! I'm so happy she changed her mind! She says she can't wait!
Our day with our SIL, Barb, went well. My two nieces were there, too, and we had a nice visit. But it was a long day and much of our 4-hr round trip was in hard rain squalls and heavy traffic. Didn't get home until way past Scottie's suppertime and he was waiting to tell us all about THAT! lol!
I got my sewing room cleaned up and my "Whisk..." pattern and fabrics out and I'm ready to rock this project. I found at Hobby Lobby a 12" Santa wearing an apron, a chef's hat, and holding up a whisk and a tray of cookies. Will make a great accent to put with the quilt!
JANA - congrats to your friend with the new RV! Sounds like she got a bunkhouse model which is purrfect with four little ones! Back when mine were little ones (they are now 43, 45, and 48) our "bunkhouse model" was 3 sleeping bags and a tarp caught in the car door and spread out over them! lol! Oh, I hope your Daniel is able to make his move smoothly. He knows he's got a lot of family support in UT! I'm sure you are over the moon! I was just telling Bill yesterday that he's been fighting the fires and is your only one in CA but hadn't heard any hints that he might be moving to UT - and then next morning you post he's starting to make plans! Happy Day!!
CAROL - I might try the oven next time, but will definitely cut the crock pot time in half at least! But it sure is good!
BECCA - was so good to see your post in sew-in this morning! Are you feeling better? And how has CA done with you being so sick? I bet your kids and grands have been taking good care of you both!
Going to be a quiet night tonite with Al & Tina gone. We have leftover pork chops and rice so that and a salad will be our supper. No real cooking. My cooking muscles are tired! lol!!
