SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Sept 22nd

Good morning!
We are 60* this morning and sitting out on our deck. It's dark but we have pretty lights and a fountain. Nice. DBIL, Al, just joined us. We will be going to 67* and will probably sit out around the campfire again this afternoon.
Yesterday Tina and I got her quilt about halfway together. Hope to finish that today. Then she'll take it home to finish it. She's never made a quilt before and for the batting really wants to use a fairly thick blanket from a Best Western Motel she managed long, long ago. And the heavy flannel backing from an old duvet cover to back it. And then hand quilt it herself with an injured hand/wrist. I've tried to talk her into using regular batting and fabric and letting me quilt it for her on my long arm but she's pretty insistant, and if there's on thing I've learned in my 69 years of being Tina's little sister, no one, especially ME, will ever win an argument with her, so I'm not trying, so my suggestion was that she take the top, blanket, and duvet cover to an LQS near her house, explain her plan, and ask for their expert advice. And mind you, it took her 50 years to get the blocks embroidered. Imagine hand quilting this monster! With a bad arm!
Bill & Al took our trailer to Oly yesterday - an hour south of us - to the repair shop. I feel like I've left one of my children at the hospital! I hate it not being in our back yard! We haven't heard yet what their assessment is or a time frame for getting it back. Bill told them we have camping rezzies at ocean Oct 8th.
JANA - I hope you get your Minnie program before Sarah goes off to Bryce. BTW, We think Bryce is the most spectacular of Utah's beautiful Canyons. We like it even better than the Grand Canyon and in our younger years did some hiking down into the canyon. One early settler described it as "a heck of a place to lose a cow!"
IRISH - good to 'see' you! With your travels and then my travels, and then yours again, it's been a long time! Where on the coast are you going? So much fun to be had! FL sounds like a good plan.
LORI - sounds like you've had a good trip. Did you take Jack with you? Have a safe run home!
We had those green chili chix enchiladas last night and I gave the leftovers to Al & Tina to reheat on their trip home (they are leaving Saturday). So tonight is going to be spaghetti. Al made the sauce before they left home and froze it. We'll supply the noodles and garlic bread. No one has any fresh veggies and no one feels like going to the store, so no salad. But the important thing with this meal is that we'll get to use my new pasta bowls!
Have you got a supper plan yet?
