SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Sept 19

Good early morning! It's great to be home again! Though we are already planning our next getaway - Oct 11-14, - to the ocean. Just us and our 'boys', Scottie and Foxy. (as far as we know!) We always go to the ocean for a few days in early October. Our WA state Senior Pass kicks in Oct 1 and we can camp for $10/night instead of $35. The pass is $75 so if we stay for 3 nights, it pays for itself and the pass is good until the end of April. A great deal! Usually one, two, or even three couples go with us, but this year is different - One had major ankle surgery and is off the camping list for 3 months and everyone else we know is off on their own trips. I love camping with friends but it will be nice to be just us for a change.
Sorry I didn't get here yesterday. I barely made it to Sew-in. My sis and DBIL (Al & Tina) came home with us and are in their trailer in our RV shelter. Al is a VERY early riser and comes in as soon as he sees the kitchen light go on. He sits down and starts talking to me so I put the computer away then. Bill and Tina are later sleepers so it's just Al talking and me listening for the first hour or two. I did get in a brief recap of our trip adventures in yesterday's sew-in though. Then the day kicked in with laundry, cleaning, and trimming my sister's 50 hand-embroidered state flower blocks. After that I took her to Tacoma to buy fabric for sashing. I'm doing the 50 state birds and finished my 50th last night! YAY!! Not sure when I'll get mine together . . . I need to get busy on my Kimberbell "We Whisk You a Merry Christmas" quilt for my baker grandson. Need to have it finished in about 6 weeks so I can give it to him before we leave for Texas about Nov 10.
Today Al & Tina are going to Seattle for an overnight visit with her son. Their trailer and 3 cats will stay here. I will give them the appropriate snuggling. So after they leave, I will finish cleaning our trailer and doing the laundry. When we came home with, not one but TWO trailers, Vicki got pretty agitated and banged on her window with a stick or wooden spoon for 3 hours. I could tell she was getting tired as the tempo of the banging slowed after just an hour or so. Some day she is going to break that window! It must be difficult to be her. Our trailer will leave on Monday for repairs down in Olympia so that will make her happy. I don't know if it will be gone for a couple of days or a couple of weeks.
BECCA - how are you feeling? How has CA been doing with you on the "DL List"?
IRISH - are you around? Last I saw you were off gallivanting with your sister and then going away for a week with Kathy?
TINA - thanks for setting the table yesterday - and any other day! I just couldn't get back to my computer to even tell you we had a very good ham supper last night. You sound as busy as ever! Happy birthday to Maria!
JANA - is your new bedroom door in yet? That will be nice to have finished! I don't know yet how bad our trailer damage is. It could be a couple hundred or a couple thousand $$. Ouch!! Bill got a good temp repair on it so no leaking as we had a bit of rain yesterday (and SNOW in Yellowstone!). With that problem, the trouble we had just getting out of our campsite in Yellowstone, and the three flat tires my DBIL had on freeways, I was really wishing we'd invited your Aaron to go on vacation with us!! Glad Sarah's DH's test result is good, but I forgot what he was going to have done . . colonoscopy?
LORI - I asked in Sew-in but sounds like you are still in Utah and busy having fun!
CHICKIE - how is Covid? How are Odie and Boomer? How is Doyal?? And your sister?
Supper tonite will be ham leftovers from last night. We also had baked sweet potatoes, green beans with onion and bacon, baked apples, and garlic bread. Tonite's supper will be reheated ham, green beans, and scalloped potatoes from a box. We are out of fresh food and dipping into the camping pantry. I guess a grocery run is in my near future.
What's happening on your plate tonite?
