Good morning,

Did you catch my note yesterday about Becca? She has been very sick, in the hospital for a week. Her BP is sky high and her sodium and potassium are way low. That's all CA told me. So Becca needs prayers and if you'd like to send her a card and need her address, let me know by PM, text, or e-mail.

Yesterday went well - We submitted our petition to renew our anti-harassment order and were given a Sept 23rd Zoom hearing date. So we're able to work around our Yellowstone trip (Sept 3-17). And no, the order goes from year to year - can't be made permanent. Don't ask me why.

Today I have my annual physical first thing, then a visit with a good friend I haven't seen since Feb. LOTS of laundry to deal - at least 4 large loads. Tea Party quilt is still waiting on a binding plus four tops are expecting backings to be pieced some day soon. So no lack of things to do around here.

JANA - sounds like fun to be able to cook with wholesome mixes from a trustworthy place right in your own back yard! Maybe a good Christmas gift for Kate and Aaron (besides pot holders!) would be a box with a selection of mixes in it - running heavy to brownies!

TINA - Once you get in cleaning mode, it's hard to turn it off until it's done. Hope the flurry is almost over! Are your temps coming down at all?

VELDA - I use my crockpot a lot. I almost enjoy cooking early in the day, but by suppertime, my energy tank is on empty. Nice to have supper ready and the kitchen still cool. I have a 1-1/2 qt, 3 qt, and 6 qt. Also a 5 qt in the fiver. The two smaller ones I bought in thrift shops and they work great! I've experimented with a lot of different dishes in them - mac & cheese, meatloaf, turkey, roasts, etc. All work great! I place meats on top of thick slices of onion and sometimes slide halved potatoes in next to them.

Our chicken parm last night was delish, but no leftovers so I think we're going to 77* today and it will be a great grilling evening. We'll share a steak and oven fries and a salad.

What sounds delish to you for tonite?

Good morning from warm, sunny, SW. Pa....We had rain yesterday and then again over night and it was much appreciated....With the rain, I might just get to use my new mower or at least Kevin will be over to use my mower, lol.....

OH Mary, thank goodness you were in touch with Becca's husband....I knew there had to be something wrong...Feel so bad and of course will keep those prayers going....
I'm going to have to give that chicken parm recipe a try...Cari sent me a nice box from Omaha and it has a few chicken breasts in it....Might even invite my sister over for dinner.....I think my problem with cooking is, as others have said, cooking for 1 isn't too much fun....

Jana, I would love to have a place near by to be able to get mixes like that...And I love Mary's idea about the Christmas gifts...Do they do mail order? Kathy is always looking for something new and I'm sure would be interested.....Just in reading your posts, you have the most interesting places to visit and shop....

Not sure what all I'm going to get into today...Since we did have rain, I was out early pulling some weeds and thinking maybe I should go get more mulch, just to make things look fresh...But, I also need to stay in the house and play in the sewing room....My sister wants me to go to a meeting at the "bingo" hall tonight...She said, since I'm living here, I might as well join the association...I did some running yesterday, needed lemon pudding mix and of course ended up with everything but! Did stop at Home Depot and was so proud of myself for not bringing home more plants but now I'm looking for trees and that might be a little harder getting them in the car, (might just have to borrow Kevin's truck).....

And for dinner, don't think it will be the chicken tonight but maybe just a burger on the grill unless my sister wants to pick up something before or after the meeting......

You all have a good rest of the day.....

Happy eating..............

Please feel better Becca........

Good morning!

Mary - yes, saw the note about Becca. Thank you for checking up for us all. Praying they will quickly find and get under control the electrolytes.

Michael is still out mowing, so far about 90 minutes. Takes him longer when he let's it go for 3 weeks. That's OK, I had time to clean and straighten the master bath, get laundry going and get my kitchen in order. Dust bunnies, look out, you're next!

Never should anyone let me count! When I finished up yesterday all the potholders, I found I had made too many! I thought I still needed to make the neighbor gifts, nope, have those done! So since I have backs, batt and insulbrite already cut, I will add a few more, just in case I need them quick gifts. I will get out a roll of Christmas paper and boxes, I save each year and wrap those gifts today. Need a run to a dollar store for some whisks to go with the neighbor gift. Then I will be ready there too.

Also need to draw the circles for the Minnie Mouse quilt. That won't take long. Then the bow, that will take me a bit of trial and error drafting. I am thinking about a 8 or 10 inch block for the Minnie face to be appliqued too. Then, petal to the floor and get them made.

Dinner - well, last night was punted to tonight. Michael's teeth were bothering him, so he got out a taco soup from the freezer. Tonight will be the chicken parm. Sarah brought me some of her fresh chicken eggs, so the pasta will be quite good and bright yellow! Sarah has 9 hens laying now, so eggs are plentiful.

Ethan and Gracie both start online school today. They are both ready. The others are attending in person, so we won't be seeing them for awhile.

Well, Mr Samsung is singing, I am done song, need to take care of that.

Prayers, hugs, stay safe!
Jana

Irish - just saw your post and went and checked Lehi Roller Mills website. Yes, they do ship, via UPS ground. It gives all the prices for things. I haven't tried everything there yet, but we do love the muffin, brownies and roll mixes. Sarah likes their flour for all her cooking as well.

Hi everyone! Don't faint LOL I'm here!
Mary, thank you for letting us know about Becca, I'm sure praying she gets well fast!
Irish, I'm in my sewing room with you, I'm sewing my Christmas swap blocks down. I'm really loving my snowman, although I think it's a snowgirl 😂🤣 only 10 days left till mailing deadline so I better get finished before then so I don't get in trouble 😂🤣
Jana, I may have to order something from there too.
I've got Jazmyne and Preston today because Easton had another dentist appointment. I hope he does good, it's not his regular pediatric dentist and the one he's going to isn't child friendly in my opinion.
Supper tonight will be a burger on the grill and salad.
Tina

Mary I forgot to answer about our temps, we're still having day after day of 100° or more but we have had some in the high 90's too. I'll be so glad to be down in the 80's and hopefully that will be happening in about 35 to 40 days 🤞

I forgot to mention I posted a Braid quilt last night. It's from a QIAD pattern.
