Good morning,
We had RAIN yesterday! It was so great! I finally was able to get out into the yard about 3pm for 1-1/2 hrs. While we were out there, we saw Vicki's SIL come with an open trailer and we think he was probably loading up garbage to take to the dump. Progress! Before going outside, I had time to quilt and bind one quilt and make the first block in my Kimberbell "We Whisk You a Merry Christmas" baking-themed project. I have 8 tops left to quilt now. Knocking them out! Slowly but surely. This weekend will be full of yard work, more than quilting, sorry to say. But once it's all done, I'll be GLAD to say!
CAROL - I'm curious how your jam re-do turns out. I would think it would work . . . Or you will have a lot of ice cream topping and pancake syrup! We find it's easier to keep good tension with the same thread in our LA, top and bottom. But we certainly aren't pros and every machine seems to be different!
JANA - so cute of Karlie to send Marshall with her dad! Glad you found your jars. They are hard to find here and even the farm store has limited amounts. But I have a large supply and rarely use them all so I'm set - it's finding lids that can get difficult. I buy several boxes, wide and narrow mouth, early in the season. You know, I have only seen one bee of any kind this season. Last season we could hardly walk outside without having them flying all around us. Wonder what's different . . .
I haven't decided on supper yet. Maybe spaghetti? pizza? pork chops? I've been thinking so hard on camping meals and menus for when my sis and DBIL come home with us, that the menu planning portion of my brain is wore out! Something will come to me - or not. We'll see.
Hope you have more definite ideas!

Good morning!
Mary - Kimberbell are some of my new favorite patterns. I have quite a few to use with my embroidery module on my sewing machine. Saw on Pinterest, where you take a small whisk, add, Hershey kisses inside the tines, and add a tag, stating, We Whisk you a Merry Christmas. Your quilt reminded me of that. Vicki's SIL is the pied piper, leading all those nasty rats away!
Dinner- a few leftovers and some more yummy fresh corn. I have a couple of peaches to peel and fix for Michael. He loves them, I am allergic to them.
My fabric was supposed to be here yesterday, nope. Hopefully today. I am out of fabric and have a few more to finish. That all includes family gifts and neighbor gifts. I am planning to go to the dollar store and get some cheap whisks to add to the potholder for the neighbor gift. See bit in Mary's part.
Kitchen is caught up, so it's play time in the Batt Cave. Oh, my thread is AWOL as well.
Stay Safe!
Hugs
Jana

Good afternoon from warm, sunny SW. Pa....Could be a little rain in the forecast but we don't hold our breath, lol.....
BUT, Where is our Becca? Has anyone heard from her? I've been really thinking about her and praying nothing has happened to her or her DH....We miss you, dear friend.......
Mary, Happy to hear someone is doing something next door, even if it's just taking away the garbage, which has to help......I do like to hear about everyone's canning and of course love when Kathy sends or brings a "care package"...I've given all my canning stuff away and really don't seem to miss it, too much, lol....
Oh my, you really are pumping out those quilts...I look at my stack and just think, some day!
Jana, is your neighborhood still in construction mode? Years ago, before my kids started their own, any construction site was a gathering for both little boys and big boys...Something about those big machines.....Even little Lena was enthralled with the machine cleaning a lot, the other day.....
Today is a little laundry, changing the bed and that's about it...Thursday was bingo day and then we all went to the Cracker Barrel for dinner (chicken and dumplings, so good) and then yesterday, I met with my lunch gals at a new out door place and had a great lunch and then back to one of the gal's homes to see her new kitchen and have dessert...Then last night was cards and more food at my house...So needless to say, the diet was tossed to the way side for 2 days and today, I can tell the difference...So, I need to behave again (until next weekend).....
Might try to get a haircut this afternoon...The gal who cuts my hair is my friend who moved to the park but she's having some breathing issues so not sure if she's up to it today...She did come to play cards but had to drag her oxygen with her...She's too young to go through this!
As for my dinner, left over chicken and a tiny dumpling...I figure that won't hurt, it's not very much....Maybe add a salad......We finished all the cake last night so there will be NO AFTERS!
You all have a great rest of the day.......
Happy eating.......
Miss you Becca!

Irish, at least you can get your hair cut. Here in CA, all the salons are closed. It's absolutely ridiculous. You can shop, but you can't get a haircut. So many independent places are going under. It's really sad.
Jana, I have a few Kimberbell booklets. I like there patterns. Cute, easy, and fast. I bought them at a quilt shop by my son's old house.
Mary, at least there's something being done. It must be so difficult to have to see that day after day.
Send some rain this way.
It's been super hot here. Today I went for my walk at 0815 and it was 82 with 68% humidity. Jack was moving slow. He doesn't like the hot weather. Luckily it only lasts about a month, then we'll be down to the 80's again. The bad thing is it doesn't cool off at night.
Don't know what's for dinner, but it will be something I don't need to turn on the oven to make.
Have a lovely day.

I had a Zoom class today with the speaker at the Guild the other day. It was a wonderful class! We had so much done. We all finished the block and we have another session next week. she is going to add something because we finished! Speaker was Linda Sullivan from Colourwerx. The block we made was ColourBugs and Curves. (We will do the curves portion next Saturday.)
Dinner tonight was Linguine and Meat sauce. We ate in my airconditioned sewing room watching the news on the computer. DH's workspace was 95* this afternoon.
It is supposed to be cooler tomorrow. I just wish there was less humidity, but it is August. We get the remnants of the hurricanes and it gives us humidity and the mountains get rain.

Maryz - Forgot to mention the jam. The jar that wasn't quite full was a little bit loose, but definitely jam like. I think the other jars will gel. They were just like water before and I left out 1/4 cup of liquid that was in the jars. If you remember you add water to the pectin and boil it, so at least 1/4 cup didn't get back yesterday. I also added one cup of sugar and some lemon juice before boiling.
