SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Aug 15th

Good morning!
We're heating up here this weekend - mid 80's today, 93* tomorrow, and back to mid 80's for Monday. Our lower level (bedroom and family room) are partially subterranean and stay pretty cool, especially if we keep the blinds down, so we can be fairly comfy on really hot days. But we're lucky - this will only be the second time this summer we break 90*. We are having a bit of a haze, though, due to huge fires burning in Siberia, of all places.
Yesterday got busy and out of my control!
I cut binding strips for 4 quilts, washed 1 load of clothes, picked over a gallon of blackberries and froze them in 4 packages, went to Costco to pick up my new glasses (and you know how Costco goes!). We ended up with a carload of groceries from there, Freddies, and a stop at the drug store. Wiped everything down, put it all away, made another batch of strawberry habanero jam (and it definitely was hot enough this time!), and then tried a new recipe for chicken fajitas. Bill said it was a keeper. It had about 7 different spices in it, so I'm going to make up a spice mix to use so I will only have to get out one jar after this. After supper I made up a menu list for our Yellowstone trip, started a shopping trip for same, and then worked on my embroidered state birds the rest of the evening. Only 6 or 7 left to go! I also weakened and put in an order with my Stitchery magazine for 4 cross-stitch kits - retro trailers in the four seasons. Only 6"x8" each so I may actually finish them before I die. Hopefully we'll find room for them in the trailer. May have to alternate them.
Today - cut binding strips for 2 more quilts, clear out my sewing room AGAIN, take stock of things in trailer so I know what I need for Yellowstone with my sis and DBIL, check for more berries, maybe start quilting my Spring Swap quilt. I'm sure other things will creep in there, too. They always do!
ROSEBUD - IF you can sew after a day of work, you are a far better woman than I! My job was always an energy-sucker-upper!
BECCA - sorry about adding a car appt to your list. I hate car stuff and am thankful Bill takes care of it all. What kind of car do you drive? I hear Mark & Denise will be coming to visit again! Yay! I'm sure they will be stocking up your freezer with goodies!
JANA - poor Sarah! How is she doing today? Congrats to Ethan! He will love that quilt forever!!
We are having pasta with marinara sauce tonite for supper. This is a new pasta (to us) made from quinoa. Also, a few weeks ago I got new pasta bowls so we'll be using them for the first time tonite. They will jazz up the table! The table being out on our deck. We eat out there most every evening in the summertime.
What's on your menu for tonite?
