Supper Club. Wed, Aug 12
Good morning,
Yesterday morning we took a drive west along the river. Found the last remaining covered bridge still in Use in WA. Our truck barely fit but we drove across it - and back. Also came across a tiny fawn, looking confused, hunting for mama. He finally bounded into the brush. Another mile, another fawn, trotting down the narrow road, looking like he was on an Important mission. Mom Close by, watching him closely. Later, Back at camp, another deer wandered into our campsite and Scottie took off after it, barking. His rope broke and the chase was on! Scott chasing the deer and us chasing Scott. When all settled down we looked towards the river and saw a huge container ship just disappearing around the bend. We missed it!
Today will probably be A lot like yesterday - walk, read, stitch, repeat. I got 2 more cups of berries yesterday. I doubt any more will be ripe today. But I’ll check.
For supper we will split A steak, baked potato, salad.

Good morning!
Mary - what fun - a covered bridge! But I would have been leery that maybe a builder of that bridge skimped on a measurement and you would have gotten stuck! That's just me - chicken! Oh Scottie! I guess you will get a new rope for that little pill! I'll bet he chewed it to make his break!
Ordered a prime rib roast for dinner on Friday or Saturday. I will be cooking a special dinner for Michael and me. With all the virus concerns, we can't go out for our traditional celebration of our wedding anniversary. Sunday will be 45 years. So I will fix dinner here for just us. Even will bake a small cake - chocolate, like what we had at our reception. I was not a traditionalist. A prime rib is really easy to roast.
Dinner tonight - tortilla soup - I have some ready to go in my freezer.
Ethan almost finished his quilting last night. A bobbin gave us fits. It is a generic brand and my LA didn't like it - at all! So it will find it's way to the trash at Acme Landfill! Then, we didn't tell Ethan, that Sarah and I miss measured the back length by a couple of inches and we are short. But we have extra fabric of what we need, so will add it on and then finish the last quilting.
Still working on masks, just need the elastic.
Hugs,
Jana

Good morning!
I guess you had quite thre day yesterday Mary! Chasing a dog who is chasing anything is not my cup of tea for sure! Glad you caught him. Those ships are soooooooo cool! I love seeing thre covered bridges, makes me think if simpler and most likely better times.
Jana, we cooked in for our anniversary too this year, I prefer going out so I don't have the mess but it is what it is. Sometimes our machines can sure be picky!
I'm taking a break, got up and 6:30 and made it into my sewing room then had to go get a pick up order for Dad and visited him for awhile then back home and back in my room ❤ I'm just finishing my break and going back in for another hour before lunch
yep I'm a happy camper.
Yesterday Matthew turned 3, they're doing a birthday party with just family on Saturday but we're going Friday because "just family" is about 20 people just on Maria's side and it's going to be 5 to 8pm and we're still at 100° then and I just can not do this heat.
Supper tonight...... hmmmmmm...... supper, I have no clue! Guess I'll figure that out later.

I have been working on some quilting today. I wiped down the sewing room floor this morning it looks much better!
Jana, Happy Anniversary! Your dinner sounds really good. Our "Special" dinners in these times are Filet Mignon, baked potato, and salad. We rarely eat beef and we have a wonderful butcher so we really enjoy these dinners. We will be celebrating our 24th Anniversary on September 7th.
Tonight's dinner will be Stuffed Pepper Casserole (I use 97% FF Ground Turkey).
