Supper club, Tuesday, August 11
Good morning,
This new campground is kind of nice. Looks like it’s been put together piece meal with a loop here and another one there. Some RV’s are along the river, some are the hill in the woods And we are sort of in between. Can only see a little bit of the river From our campsite because of tall trees. yesterday evening and a huge oceangoing container ship went up river Towards Portland and it towered over the hundred foot trees! Amazing to watch! I hear another one going by now but it’s still too dark to see.
Otherwise we just enjoy the day, walking, reading and chasing the shade. There is a Blackberry patch in back of our trailer and I picked 4 cups of blackberries, wash them, and put them in the freezer. I’m hoping by Thursday morning there will be enough ripe to pick a few more cups before we leave. I like to freeze berries in 6 cup packages-that is what most of my recipes call for.
Carol, I do uSe store brands for many things. I find some inferior, some just as good, and some are even better than name brands so they are always worth a try. I have heard That canned tomatoes of any sort are difficult to find.
Becca, have a good day running your errands
Jana, is your kitchen back to normal now? I like Boondocking, too. Or rustic forest camps. Bill is OK with them but he really likes his amenities to. The problem with amenities Is they come in crowded RV parks - definitely not my style
Tina, did you have fun in your messy sewing room yesterday? How is dad? Do you have all three kids every day now?
Tonight supper will probably be chicken fajitas Cooked outside.

Good morning!
How cool to watch the ships Mary! That's awesome about the blackberries! I wish they grew wild here! Can you believe it, I didn't make it into my sewing room, after i gave both dogs their bath and took my own it was lunch time and then I was needed to help hang sheetrock in our bedroom and Easton came over to spend the night but ended up going home at 8:30. He's so funny, he'll stay a week sometimes, other times he just needs a day LOL
Today I have all 3 coming, I only watch them here and there because Adam is still laid off from the mine, I really wish they'd call them back to work..... they closed the mine because they had 2 cases of covid a couple months ago.
We had Chile soup last night at Easton's request, that maybe lunch for everyone or our supper tonight, we'll see.

Re: Supper club, Tuesday, August 11
Good early afternoon from warm, but over cast SW. Pa...I am just checking in, making a sort of drive thru.....Needless to say, it's been (so far) a very hectic, fun time since I picked up Kathy at the airport...We've been on the go or had family over every day...In fact, brunch on Sunday was almost standing room only...I said, next person has to bring their own silverware and a chair...But, it's been so much fun....And we're off and running today...We've gone through all my books, Kathy has packed up a huge box for us to mail back home for her, I have 2 shopping bags for the Library and still have more books than I'll probably read...She "built" her new bed, we changed the room around so she's all set...I did start thinking, with her getting all this stuff, hope she's not planning on moving back home, lol.....Every day, we have boxes delivered, lots and lots of things for Lena when she gets here....I think later, when it cools off, she's going to use the power washer and do my decks instead of having my guys come and do it and then tomorrow, she'll do the sealer...Nice to have her around, for awhile, lol.....
Mary, does sound like your site is relaxing and to see the ships go up and down the river would be exciting....Around here, our excitement is watching the trailer bring in a flat bed with 6 new sheds and wondering how in the world would they get turned around to leave..And another big truck is picking up all the tires and axles from the new mobiles they've brought in...Always something to see....
Jana, would love, love to see your kitchen...Bet it's absolutely gorgeous.....
Becca, I always liked having trees around and often would say, get me a house in the middle of a forest and I'd be happy...Now, I still like the trees but also a few neighbors.....I use store brands often and have found many are better and of course cheaper....Yesterday we saw the Schwan man go buy, so today, got on line and made an order.....Mr. Schwan will be here tomorrow afternoon.....
Well, better get moving, Kathy is loading the car for another adventure...One thing, after a day with her, I do sleep good at night......
Not sure what our dinner might be but Cari sent a huge box of Omaha steaks etc. so our freezer is full.....
You all have a great rest of the day...
Happy eating.................

Good morning!
Mary - what a sight! It has been a long time since we have seen those big cargo ships. There is a height limit coming into the San Francisco bay - the Bay Bridge has a lower height limit from when it was built in 1938. One of the navy's aircraft carriers that docked in Alameda could only come and go on low tide because it was too tall.
Tina - sorry your sewing missed you yesterday. Ethan is the same way as Easton, sometimes never wants to go home, other times, can't wait.
Becca - I have given up on haircuts. Just let mine grow long, which makes Michael happy. I do whack off my own bangs. Not bad, most of the time.
Ethan worked on his quilt yesterday. We ran out of thread. I do have another spool of red thread, but it did give us problems of breaking, but will try it again. He is about halfway finished. I will work on the masks I am making. The elastic will be here today. I have the center seam sewn on all the masks and lining, will add the elastic and zip around the mask to finish.
Dinner - hatch chili chicken enchiladas.
Well, need to get going. Oh, the kitchen is done, just need to have my phone handy and the dishes done and take a picture.
Hugs,
Jana

Re: Supper club, Tuesday, August 11
The chicken recipe I made last night was a keeper. It was quite delicious!
Tonight's dinner was my Fast Hash recipe. I went to a different store this morning for milk and a couple of things the store yesterday didn't have and they had no ground turkey. I took some out of the freezer this evening. Oh well! I will try again.
I have been cleaning and reorganizing my sewing space. I needed to pull fabric for two different projects, one a class the other a mystery quilt. I want to use a white background on my mystery project. I had just over 2 yards of Kona Snow. I thought "Okay, I will check with QIAD, they carry Kona." Guess what no white. Then I called a store that is fairly large and they told me the Kona whites are all back ordered until the end of August. I looked at Missouri Star and they had plenty, so I ordered it from there. The picture looks a lot more cream than the white I have, so I may have to make some and wait for the delivery. I am certain what I have is snow and that is what I ordered.
