SUPPER CLUB - Friday, July 31

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Jul 31, 2020 5:58 am

Good morning!

I'm out on the deck sitting at our little table. I had a nice post almost ready to submit and Foxtrot jumped off the railing, bouncing on my keyboard on his way to the floor. And my post was gone and I was suddenly on another page of the forum! Cats!! So, a quick recap:

Yesterday I got our funeral outfits selected, washed, and ironed. Then I made new masks to "accessorize". Then I started writing a eulogy of sorts for my brother. My SIL prefers no one but the officiant, their grandson speak, so I guess I'll give it to him to read for me. Just a collection of memories of my brother through my life but trying to put it into story form with some humor. And this is why I was up at 0330 this morning - busy mind. Today's plan: finish my memories piece, make a few more masks and a backing for a quilt, and finish the last chapter of a book I'm reading by Livia Washburn.

IZZY - glad your DD's blood work came back good! And I bet that little guy is loving the pool! He can swim, right? The green fabric is headed your way! You are very ambitious with your quilting for the holidays! I have 3 tops finished for Christmas gifts, but two still need to be quilted.

BECCA - and the white fur is headed YOUR way! Love your mission of bears for the police to carry. I'm sure happy to contribute to that! Congrats on Beth's increasing success! She is special! Does she have any help in her bakery?

IRISH - I checked and I have a Fenton cat! With a turquoise rhinestone necklace! And apparently it's worth $65! I never know! Do you really think you'll get away without going to the Lenox sale?? For all the purging I've been doing this year, I look around and know several more carloads could go if we were downsizing. But we're not, so it all stays! :D

TINA - Jumping on legs is no way to wake up a gramma! Especially one with bad legs! There would have been a serious time-out in this house! Happy belated birthday to Jaz. You now have a teenager! Buckle up, Buttercup! I've raised 2 teen girls. It could be a bumpy ride the next 5 years!

MARY ROSE - I love homemade chili and cornbread. With light to med heat.

CHICKIE - If anyone deserves a day to get sucked into a movie and a book it's you! Exciting to think of the new baby and the spoiling to come!

JANA - you are quite a collector! As a kid I collected TV Guides, S&P shakers, Sylvester the cats, and souvenir spoons. All are gone now as I've moved through life. Turns out, just after I finally dumped the TV Guides I learned that they had value! Now I have cats all over the house and yard. I also have several statues of the Virgin Mary, my patron saint (Virginia Mary). How is the tile work coming along?

CAROL - no prob! turns out BECCA wanted the fur so it's still going to a good home!

We might have tacos tonite. Not sure - I was going to make a pizza last night with leftover marinara sauce, but our friends stopped by with a pizza. :D Don't now if DH wants it again tonite. Maybe stew in the crockpot so as not to heat up the kitchen . . .

And what are we getting for you tonite?
And I better his 'submit' fast because here comes the cat again!

Good morning!
Mary you were truly blessed if you only went through 5 years of a bumpy ride! Holly had the body snatchers take over at 10 or 11 and I didn't see me sweet daughter until 10 years later and she still had residual affects for a few years! I think Jazmyne is the same as her, she's already had the body snatchers take sweet Jazmyne 2 years ago, what attitudes! It's probably my fault..... when I was little my sister put our parents through sooooo much that I went out of my way not to cause them grief, I wasn't perfect but I bent over backwards to keep the peace and do for our parents. I did a major screw up when I turned 18 but like I said I wasn't perfect. I just never back talked to then either. My sister had made mom have a nervous breakdown and mom was in the hospital for almost 2 weeks. We had to visit her through the hospital window from outside, I was almost 9 at the time, it really showed me what not caring about parents could do to a person. I guess I became hyper aware of how I acted towards people. 🤷‍♀️
I don't think Frankie would've liked timeout LOL he was on babysitter duty cause I was falling asleep from not sleeping for a couple nights. I told him I just needed a little nap for him to watch the kids. When I said this they were all sitting at the table playing Go Fish. When Preston jumped on me I asked Frankie why he wasn't with him and he said he didn't notice that he got up 🤦‍♀️
I'm glad you found homes for your fabrics!
I've already watered and now going to see what I can go through to get rid of today, maybe clean our closet out since that room is getting all prettied up anyways!
Supper...... hmmmmmm..... don't have a clue yet.
Tina

Good morning!

Posted the story of yesterday over in sew-ins. But the gist is - we finally found the missing electrical covers! Yippee Skippee!

Mary - I fully understand writing about a loved brother through his life. I did my brother, Tommy, Sandee's dad for his service. I had a good editors to help me - Michael and Sarah. The hardest part for me was delivering it at the service. You see, I cry at Lassie TV shows and supermarket openings. Doesn't take much! You will do good!

Tina - I am with you on the hot! Sorry, but I am sending more your way. I got all my uglies upstairs done, so later I will do the uglies needed in the cool Batt Cave.

So, another night of microwave magic for dinner. We need to let the grout dry, then seal it with a grout sealer, let that dry and I have my kitchen back! Probably, Sunday for cooking again. We may get brave and order some take out, but then again, there is Sarah's house. I also have the grill on the deck. Heck, I could just fry an egg on the deck flooring right now! The east sun really heats up the boards! But by dinner time, the sun is around to the west of the house, so the deck is perfect!

My Rose of Sharon, hibiscus, is just starting to bloom. It has white flowers with maroon centers. So pretty. The day lilies are blooming too. Pretty light yellow.

Not much more here. I was very lucky with teenagers - all mine, well, except Aaron were Angel's. Aaron's halo was just a tiny bit crooked, and he was a good kid too. Not quite as much as the other three. Now, they all give me gray hair with their highly dangerous occupations! But we muddle through! :)

Stay Safe!
Hugs,
Jana

I'm back!
My closet is totally decluttered! Yay!!!! Goodwill or Salvation Army is going to have some major donations, so many clothes too! It's all vacuumed and cleaned and even bug sprayed too.
Jana, please don't send me more heat, I'm already wilted. My closet was so hot! It's not a huge walk in but it's still not got any ventilation.
Becca, oh I'd love to visit the bakery!
After the great closet purge I'm too tired to cook so we're gonna run through a drive thru.
Tomorrow will be another closet and room with my handsome assistant ❤❤
