Good morning!

Today is our Scottie's 7th birthday!! Big celebration here today! I think we'll brave the big teeth and give him a good brushing (which he hates), and then a Frosty Paw. A good doggie mom would make him a cake. And I might do that, too. But I know who would eat the bulk of that cake so maybe not . . . . I have my annual physical coming up in less than a month. I don't need my hips carrying a whole birthday cake into the exam room with me! lol!

We got our shop cleaned yesterday - only took us 4 hours - our best time yet for that job, which we only do about once a year. After that we built a campfire in our newly revamped firepit in the side yard and relaxed the rest of the afternoon, reading and snacking and visiting with friends when they came over for Happy Hour. The ones that stay until 9pm . . . But we did have a good visit, if long, and got caught up on all their news.

Today, no plans. No chores, no uglies, no errands. I think we just get to play with our toys all day long. :D Even supper is no problem. Since we ate veggies, hummus, cheese, and crackers around the fire last night, we still have our leftover red beans & sausage over rice to simply reheat.

LORI - how was your run yesterday? Did you find some good deals? Especially at QIAD? It's been years since I was there, and it wasn't as big as I was expecting, but then their prices weren't as big as I was expecting either! Scottie goes everywhere with us, too, unless it's too warm. But we have a seat covering we bought at Costco that keeps the seat clean. If we want to have other people with us, we simply whip the cover off - no hair! I have also gotten old fitted sheets at Goodwill and fitted those ourselves over the back seat. Scott is a very hairy dog!

BECCA - you are right about cleaning - never-ending and often thankless. Bill was so proud of all our hard work in our shop yesterday that he made our friends go in and admire it before they left last night! lol! I'm so happy to hear your town is having a Back the Blue rally. There is quite a movement across the country - an official organization - and Bill even made a monetary donation to them.

JANA - I'm glad to hear of 'blue support' near you, too. We read yesterday that A&E lost 50% of their viewership when they cancelled Live PD. I keep hoping they'll bring it back after all this craziness settles down. Love your pot holders! You know, when we got our 5 yrs of pictures printed last week, I had a large stack of quilt photos and some I'd totally forgotten I'd made! lol! I used to keep a quilt journal but now I just do a simple list of all projects and who they were for. And the photos go into a box. What all is Sarah having done, dental-wise? I thought just one or two implants. . .

IRISH - your Kathy really knows how to put texture into her life! What fun she must be having! And you wild woman, you! And your wild friends! Up until the wee hours! I'd probably nod off and my head would drop onto my cards by 9:30! lol! What games do you play? Congrats to your friend on her new home!

CHICKIE - so who's got married? ? And what are you working on in your sewing room? Did you finish your Christmas swap blocks? I think I need to do my weekly check-in in the swap thread . . . Scottie's hair is 4" to 7" long and almost all black. It's a heavy look for summer so I try to 'de-hair' myself when out in public.

TINA - you must have pulled a muscle doing something. It may take a while to heal . . . Your bedroom will have a whole new look! I'd be wanting to make a new quilt, too!

We'll be having the afore-mentioned leftover red beans and sausage over rice tonite. And salad. Love leftovers!!!

Maryz, it's pretty big. Did you go into the warehouse part where they keep all the precuts?

Our trip was a great success. My new obsession is batiks. So that's mostly what I bought. Just enough for a project. I also found a cute Christmas apron panel. Last week I bought a Halloween apron panel, so I'm set for the holidays.

We are off to take the boys to the park, then sewing for me.

Dinner will be.....Chicken of some kind and salad.

Have a lovely day.

Good morning!

It will be our usual Sunday brunch, hashbrowns and eggs. For me, I make a small, one serving size of sausage gravy to go on mine.

Mary - that was quick work on tidying up yesterday. Now just lock him out of there, so it stays that way!

Becca - I understand keeping things up - I blink and there's a mess! Wonder who keeps the mess fairies busy in this house? LOL!

Lori - good to have a knowledgeable person for your JN. There are some very helpful tricks you need to know and use. A folding template is invaluable! A must have and they are easy to make. And a fabric glue stick. If you get stuck and your friend isn't near, just ask, maybe I can help.

After we do our church service upstairs, I am heading down to do more of my potholders. These will be gifts for my girls, including my Sandee. I have more of the lattice and bottom(back) of the pies(potholders) ordered, as well as more insulbrite and jumbo rick rack. All was on sale yesterday, so I stocked up. I will get quite a few made with what I have on hand now, but will need what I ordered to finish. Hey, I am way ahead on my Christmas this year! So not like me!

Well, time to scoot,
Stay Safe!
Hugs,
Jana

Mary - You were really busy the past few days! Glad you have today to rest.

After outdoor Mass this morning we had a Tomato, Green Onion, Green Pepper, Cheese Omelets and a Blueberry Muffin.

I try to stay ahead of whole days spent cleaning by cleaning a room a day. Today was the Bedroom. It looks better dusted and swept. I think you were talking about carpet vs hardwood. I vote for hardwood. It is so much easier to keep clean and there is no dust build up under the padding!!

Today I have been working on Christmas Stockings our Guild gives away at the holidays. I have 18 Stockings all cut out ready to sew together. I have one finished and four more ready to trim and do some hand stitching (TV hand work) and five more ready for stitching.

Tonight's dinner will be Parmesan Chicken with a side of Spaghetti and sauce.

Carol

Happy birthday to Scottie. I bet he's getting extra spoiled today. Give him a little scratch under the chin for me.
