SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, May 14th
Posted: Thu May 14, 2020 1:21 am
Good morning,
Our rainy yesterday turned out to be quite nice with a mostly sunny afternoon. I got my yo yo quilt together and now only have a few finishing touches left to do. I wonder how I'm going to quilt it . . . .
I did go to the fabric sale and good news!! The LQS has reopened, 5 days/wk, 5 hrs/day. And the 40% sale was on! I picked up some great bargains for an average of about $5.50/yd. So I'll be spending the rest of the week washing fabric and putting it out on the clotheslines to dry. I prefer the lines to the dryer so they don't warp as badly.
Those sew-in people have been talking about washing windows. I keep forgetting I have windows and they keep reminding me. And my windows really could use a splash of Windex. I'm starting to realize the fairies aren't coming, so I may have to start - UGH - doing a few windows a day.
Or!! I might put my second set of spring swap blocks together. There's only 10 blocks so it will go quickly. It's my last UFO.
BECCA - sorry your TGN is flaring up again. My mom was plagued with it and she really suffered. I hope it settles down again soon. Actually, the last several quilts I've done were with ready made blocks from swaps and lottos. So no speed sewing. Just leisurely sewing. It doesn't take long too add sashing and a border. I will be quilting about half of the quilt tops myself. A freehand meander pattern. I'm not into the computerized quilting. But there are a few I really want done with Bill's fancy patterns. I think we should meet at Lori's for supper - sounds like there's something there for both of us! - er, I mean all of us. Guess we need to invite Lori, too.
JANA - You'll be happy with your new tablet. I got a new Dell laptop at Costco in December. Usually I have a frustrating time adjusting to new electronic things, but this thing is a breeze. Love it. Glad you solved your light mystery! And had fun doing it! Stu won't forget "the time my crazy grandparents and I . . ." And yes, we actually have that Windex for the hose. But someone is always too busy. But I suppose I better be careful about who I nag about windows until after I get the insides done! lol! Glad Aaron can find some amusement in his job! That's a lot of tires to change!
LORI - I'm so sad to hear about your grand-kitty. We all love our animals so much. Hugs for your DD. And as you predicted, I was smiling all the way home from Tacoma with my bounty! They also had Gutermann's thread on sale for $2/spool so I picked up some of the colors I was low on. I wore my mask! But only 2 other customers in the store. We all looked like we'd come in to rob the place.
IRISH - Our Joann's is open but only 4 hrs a day and a limit of 30 customers at a time. Is Baby Girl allowed outside? Foxy goes wherever Foxy wants, but all of my kids have only indoor kitties. Bummer about the matching curtain. No chance it might show up yet? But if you get to go to Joann's, this could be a good thing, losing your curtain!
Supper tonite will be baked potato topped by steamed broccoli, cheese sauce, and bacon bits. I made the mistake of letting Bill know about the planned broccoli, though, so he may try to talk me into something else. And I might let him . . .
What's your supper plan?
