Good morning!

This IS Wednesday, isn't it?? They say we're in for a soaking today and we need it! This is the driest April since 1951, the year I was born. And just a few months ago we had the third WETTEST January on record. Mother Nature is soo confused!

Yesterday I pieced a backing for my Paris quilt. It's ready for quilting now! I also have my jigsaw puzzle almost finished, so I've been busy! Bill removed the cabinet above the fridge and we decided to not replace it, but to go with a shelf. That way I can display a few things I like to see, but I never use. And we even have paint! We decided to just wash the walls rather than pain a new color. Bill likes the red and I couldn't come up with another color that I liked better so it stays.

This morning we're going to brave Costco, gloved and masked. It's been so long since we've been in a store. We have fridge room in garage and trailer so that's not a problem. I NEED salad!! And speaking of the fridge it's supposed to be delivered - an installed - April 27th - only 5 days to wait. They will even haul the old one away. I can't wait!

LORI - so glad your DH arrived in time to help his dad. Will be praying for the best outcome for him!

BECCA - Cinnamon ciabatta bread and wild turkeys! It really IS good to be you, isn't it! This Paris quilt was easy - no pieced blocks. Just two panels of printed Parisian scenes in 11" squares, and I cut them apart and sewed them back together with 11" squares of coordinating fabric. I felt like I was cheating.

JANA - 30 masks a day is a full day of sewing! I'm glad we're over the peak here and the need is down, though perhaps after everyone starts going out in pubic again, the need will go back up . . . . I was dreaming about masks in my sleep when I was making mine! Love hearing Aaron's stories!

MARY ROSE - I hope you are enjoying your time off. Good practice for your retirement!

I have no clue yet about supper since we're going shopping, but my guess it will involve chicken. But I do know I'm having a great big salad!!

What about you?

Good morning!

Mary - yea for the quick delivery of the new refrigerator! And having paint and a new shelf! Pretties are always great to display.

Heading down to sew more masks. These are easy, just 3 places to sew - one bottom seam and the two ties. What takes the time, is folding the pleats. There is no ironing involved either - it would melt the fabric, which is like a pellon interfacing. I have devised a system that works well for me. With the learning curve of the first 10, took me an hour, then my new ways sped up and I folded 20 more and sewed an additional 10 in 45 minutes for both of those steps. Repetition gets your sped up! I will do another thirty or so today. And then some of the other mssks for my porch.

Dinner - bowl of cereal might fit the bill!

Uglies are caught up, so off I go to be an old sew n sew!

Sarah is working on the commercial side of the sod business now and to boggle your mind, scheduled over 1 million square feet to be cut and shipped. That is a lot of grass! That was all ordered and scheduled yesterday!

Hugs,
Jana

Good morning!
Mary, yay for getting your fridge and fast delivery! We've had a dry April too. Our March is usually one of our driest months but we were lucky this year and had some rain ❤
Jana, both my kids are putting in sod, they used their stimulus check.... well actually just a little bit for Kevin, he saved the rest of his in savings. He sent me pictures and it sure looks nice, I'm excited to be able to see it! Holly's gets delivered tomorrow and laid, I think she got 2000 sq ft for her yard. The boys are gonna love it when they're able to get out on it. She's really fixed her front yard nice! We put up her fence and she's bought rose bushes, flowers and plants online and we gave her 2 trees that popped up in my whiskey barrel planter, they're over 4' tall now. Her yard will be so pretty when it's done, just hope she gets help maintaining it.
Frankie is painting her gates he made, I'm still in the 20 year old waiting list for my gates.....I think there's something wrong with that!
We're not sure about supper. We may have to go do something at 5:30 so we're waiting to find out. Supper may be drive thru, pick up or something easy and quick from the freezer or pantry.

Mary, won't go to Costco until all this virus stuff is over. They have really long lines just to get inside. DFIL is not well. They are not able to do the heart surgery, because he is in kidney failure.
When DH was talking to him a few weeks ago, he said he was having back pain. I immediately thought it was kidney failure because of his heart condition. So they are going to try and get his kidneys working properly in the next 2 weeks. We'll see what happens.

Becca, wow....that's some expensive TP.

Tina, sounds like your family is keeping busy.

Jana, You're going to be done with your masks in no time.

Has anyone heard from Chickie?

Well I did sew yesterday. I started cleaning again. I also moved my sewing machine out the the dining room since DH is gone. I already have 4 projects on the table waiting for my attention.

Dinner tonight will be left overs.

Have a lovely evening.

Maryz, I am enjoying my time off from work. There are so many things here at home keeping me busy, I haven't missed it one bit. Right now I wish I didn't have to go back, but I know the time will come when I will have to.

Supper tonight will be more chicken.
