SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, April 18

Good morning,
Well, I had this almost finished when Mr. Cat decided he wanted on my lap, which is odd because he is so NOT a lap cat. He dislodged my computer (I sit on the couch every morning with my coffee and computer) so I had to put it on the side table and torque around to type. And suddenly my post went *POOF*! I even called Tech Support, aka, Bill, and he couldn't recover it. Sigh.
So, to recap, the cat, considering that his work here is done, has now moved on so I have my laptop back on top of my lap and will begin again - abbreviated version: Yesterday was cleaning day. Plus, we drove all the way to UPS, a whole two miles, to pick up our mail and then next door to fetch our Mexican dinner. Delicious by the way. First thing we did was re-disinfect everything Bill touched when we came home, as well as the car. He changed clothes and then left the mail outside in the sunshine for a few hours and then disinfected that, too. Now I think we're good for the week unless we go someplace again. It was a glorious 45 minutes that we were out!!
Today will be a little of everything - maybe. Yardwork, sewing, reading, laundry, baking. I did try some decorative stitching on a few of my crazy blocks - in white as that was what I had. Took f o r e v e r ! Plus I didn't really like the white. So we ordered a few cones of gold from Superior Threads and I'll try that when it comes. In the meantime I'll either make more crazies or I might switch it up and start my Mickey Mouse LOVE quilt for Lee & Lara's 30th anniversary. They adore all things Disney. And those two are a love match if ever there was one. Met for the first time when they were about ages 6 and 9. They became an item at 14 and 17, married at 18 and 21. They still are an "item".
IRISH - Your masks will be greatly appreciated! Funny that your sis is the one with elastic! Too bad it's not a good time to visit Kathy - nice weather and slow pace. But you couldn't get me on an airplane right now even if you bribed me with free wine!
ROSEBUD - I'm so sorry you lost two friends & co-workers to this virus. Do you know if any other employees are infected? So glad you are staying home!
TINA - so what kind of work are you and Frankie doing outside? I'd tell him he owes you equal time INSIDE. So glad your kitty showed up! And it was at this point in my lost post that Foxy climbed onto my lap, dislodged my computer (he is a BIG boy at 16#), and my post poofed. You know who rules THIS household!
BECCA - How is your weather? The national news looked like more bad storms were sweeping across the SE and up the coast. As to the meatloaf recipe, I think some of those 'heated' ingredients gives good flavor, but too much then gives too much heat. I like a bit of zing, but I do not like my mouth burned. Cutting those ingredients by a third make it purrfect for us.
JANA - I love it - "zap-sucker"! Hope all goes well with that project! Nice to have your own bike-powered supply line!
Our ice maker came yesterday (but STILL no iron!) so Bill will install that today and hopefully, that's all that's wrong with the fridge. And I will bake some hamburger buns so we can grill burgers tonite along with some french fries. We might open up a jar of sweet pickled beets, too. I'm not a beet fan, but I do like them pickled.
What's your supper looking like for tonight?
