Good morning,

Well, I had this almost finished when Mr. Cat decided he wanted on my lap, which is odd because he is so NOT a lap cat. He dislodged my computer (I sit on the couch every morning with my coffee and computer) so I had to put it on the side table and torque around to type. And suddenly my post went *POOF*! I even called Tech Support, aka, Bill, and he couldn't recover it. Sigh.

So, to recap, the cat, considering that his work here is done, has now moved on so I have my laptop back on top of my lap and will begin again - abbreviated version: Yesterday was cleaning day. Plus, we drove all the way to UPS, a whole two miles, to pick up our mail and then next door to fetch our Mexican dinner. Delicious by the way. First thing we did was re-disinfect everything Bill touched when we came home, as well as the car. He changed clothes and then left the mail outside in the sunshine for a few hours and then disinfected that, too. Now I think we're good for the week unless we go someplace again. It was a glorious 45 minutes that we were out!!

Today will be a little of everything - maybe. Yardwork, sewing, reading, laundry, baking. I did try some decorative stitching on a few of my crazy blocks - in white as that was what I had. Took f o r e v e r ! Plus I didn't really like the white. So we ordered a few cones of gold from Superior Threads and I'll try that when it comes. In the meantime I'll either make more crazies or I might switch it up and start my Mickey Mouse LOVE quilt for Lee & Lara's 30th anniversary. They adore all things Disney. And those two are a love match if ever there was one. Met for the first time when they were about ages 6 and 9. They became an item at 14 and 17, married at 18 and 21. They still are an "item".

IRISH - Your masks will be greatly appreciated! Funny that your sis is the one with elastic! Too bad it's not a good time to visit Kathy - nice weather and slow pace. But you couldn't get me on an airplane right now even if you bribed me with free wine!

ROSEBUD - I'm so sorry you lost two friends & co-workers to this virus. Do you know if any other employees are infected? So glad you are staying home!

TINA - so what kind of work are you and Frankie doing outside? I'd tell him he owes you equal time INSIDE. So glad your kitty showed up! And it was at this point in my lost post that Foxy climbed onto my lap, dislodged my computer (he is a BIG boy at 16#), and my post poofed. You know who rules THIS household!

BECCA - How is your weather? The national news looked like more bad storms were sweeping across the SE and up the coast. As to the meatloaf recipe, I think some of those 'heated' ingredients gives good flavor, but too much then gives too much heat. I like a bit of zing, but I do not like my mouth burned. Cutting those ingredients by a third make it purrfect for us.

JANA - I love it - "zap-sucker"! Hope all goes well with that project! Nice to have your own bike-powered supply line!

Our ice maker came yesterday (but STILL no iron!) so Bill will install that today and hopefully, that's all that's wrong with the fridge. And I will bake some hamburger buns so we can grill burgers tonite along with some french fries. We might open up a jar of sweet pickled beets, too. I'm not a beet fan, but I do like them pickled.

What's your supper looking like for tonight?

Good morning!

Mary - all my kitties were always lap cats, wrap around your head cats, just plain in your way cats! Smudge is a huge lap cat, giving Foxy a run for his money in weight. Smudge will cuddle up with anyone, who will pet him. Hogs the bed with Ethan too.

Tina - glad your kitty is home!

Well, Michael vetoed last night's dinner idea. He is not a gnocchi eater, so we did chef salads. Tonight will be the same.

Got the few groceries yesterday. More, just trying the other stores online shopping pickup service. Each has advantages and disadvantagesl I like to pick my own, so will be happy to be able to do do again, in awhile.

Michael's follow up surgery, has been rescheduled for the end of May, we will see if that date hilds, or will be moved again. It has been moved three times because if the virus.

We are having fun teasing Kate. She was on duty at the EOC, registering people for testing. She greeted a older gentleman yesterday morning, smiled and with her clipboard, asked his name. He didn't answer, so she asked again. He gave her a very bewildered look and said Gary Herbert. She wrote it down, and then sent him on to the next place. Gary Herbert is the govenor here in Utah. Kate didn't reconize him at all, even with the name! Not until she saw him on TV later in the morning in a press conference. Didn't even seem odd to her, that he had two bodyguards with him as well. No preferential treatment here for even the govenor!

Time to straighten up,

Stay safe!

Hugs,
Jana

Hello everyone sunny here but wind is still
With us
DGS just called TPaper is on it’s way to us from them We are blessed with a loving family one man just put on FBook that he saw a woman in a store with a buggy full of toilet paper I still don’t get why TP
They have created the shortage

Jana Kate will never live that down but I would be the same way I’ve seen pictures but don’t think I would know him on sight

Maryz I will use the recipe & cut down on the heat like you Beets is my favorite pickled of course
There are to be storms but they are supposed to miss us Time will tell
All this wind isn’t a good sign but hopefully it will miss everyone So many are still suffering from last week end

Our DGS was to be married today but it’s canceled They were having it on the Parkway & it’s closed plus no crowds over 10 It’s rescheduled for May 16 tentative

It’s been a topsey turbby day One DGS always FaceTimes every Sat morning for an hr so I try to plan around it Got laundry done & walk in Then made lunch
I think with the wind soup sounds good Even if it’s in the 60s

Hi everyone!
Mary, we build a metal fence. It's 64x40. I think we're did it in 5 or 6 days. Frankie is building metal gates right now in his garage, I may have to help when he goes to hang them.
My kitty is little compared to Foxy, I don't think she weighs 10 pounds even, she's tiny. She was an ASPC rescue from a cat hoarder, I've had her for 8 years now, she's come a long way and I love her.
Jana, that's a great story LOL what a funny.
Becca, I can't figure out the TP either. There's so much not in the stores anymore it's crazy! Frankie only like whole wheat pancakes so I've always bought the Aunt Jemima Whole Wheat blend mix, well about 10 years ago one store quit carrying it so I bought it at the other then they quit. After a few years I found it on Walmart.com so I've been ordering it, now they're out of stock online and I found it on Amazon but it's $25 a box! Crazy! I'm not paying that! So he'll just have to have the homemade ones I make him. When he was growing up his dad made pancakes the size of dinner plates every single morning for all the kids.
We had baked chicken strips for super last night, they were yummy! I also tried out my Pampered Chef Air Fryer making French fries and oh my gosh were they ever so yummy!
We have wind wind wind today so we can't grill anything so I have to see what I want to fix, most likely it's going to be Schwan's food.... I'm rather sick of cooking 🤪

Mary, you have such a helpful cat. lol Sounds like you are busy as usual. I wonder where you iron went. Maybe someone else is enjoying it.

Tina, $25. for pancake mix is a bit over priced. I make homemade buttermilk pancakes. They are everybody's favorite.

Jana, that is a funny story about Kate. Good for her to not give anyone special treatment. lol

Becca, I'm still trying to figure out why there is very little TP anywhere. Or flour. What is everyone baking all of a sudden?

Well we had homemade Pizza for dinner. I had to use up the sauce and pepperoni before it expired. DH is leaving in the morning to drive to Illinois. He dad is not doing well and he needs to get back there to see what can be done. Our son Shane took some time off to drive back with him. So glad he is not driving alone. I made them some extra masks and packed food and other things they might need for the trip. If I leave it up to Bill, he would forget too many things.

Have a lovely evening.
