SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, March 19

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Mar 19, 2020 5:31 am

Good morning,

Well, the excitement here never stops! Cops on Tuesday and fire department yesterday headquartering at the end of our driveway. A landscaper took out a gas line 2 houses down from us. Got to meet some new neighbors (it happened at their house) as they waited it out, standing along the roadside near our driveway. We had 2 engines, 4 smaller fire vehicles, at least one cop car, and 3 Puget Sound Energy vehicles. And LOTS of flashing lights! Bill says we're having no trouble keeping entertained during our quarantine.

JANA - you, too! Lots of excitement for you and your family as well. But you were all well prepared. I'm happy you didn't have to evacuate. Hope all is well as the dust literally settles. It was months after our earthquake before cracks appeared in the bricks of our fireplace.

TINA - sorry about the sciatica. My chiropractor gave me an exercise that really helps. It might help you even though my problem is slightly different. I lay flat on my tummy on the floor or the bed. I cross my right leg over my left, keeping my legs straight and my hip planted on the floor. And hold for five minutes. It really relaxes those muscles and helps a lot.

BECCA - I'm glad your family is watching out for you. They love you! And they are right - stay in all you can. Though getting out for your walk is great! I'm still walking, too, but not going into any public places. DH had to go to tractor store yesterday for a part and he sanitized his hands before entering the store and after leaving it. Did you have to go all the way into the dr's office for your shot yesterday?

Tonite's supper is going to be pork chops - I think on the grill out on the deck. Going to be 60* today! Welcome, Spring!! I'll make potato & onion packets, too, for the grill and toss a salad. Our first evening last night sitting out on the deck. We even ate out there. Though under the patio warmer. But it was nice.

What nice thing are you having for your supper?

Good morning!

Mary - so glad I am not selfish in sharing the excitement. Happy to let you have some too! Happy that the outcome was not eventful!

Becca - that worked great for you to be able to keep the shots up and not leave the car.

Dinner - saw a bit of ham, a bit of swiss cheese and know I have chicken, so will turn that into a chicken cordon bleu and a veggie, maybe broccoli.

I think I will head to the Batt Cave. Spent part of the day on Tuesday, cleaning up the family area and the LA area. There is still my sewing area that needs attention. I have then, a clean area to start a new project in, to mess up the sewing area again!

We are rainy and cold. The ground seems to be staying still, at least at my house. We have felt a few aftershocks, but not the majority. The chemical leak seems to be under control. Haven't heard of anymore problems. This is Aaron's normal day off, but he is on call, just in case.

My little Ethan said it all, in his prayers lsst night. "Heavenly Father, stop this madness". I think it says it all, something for us to ask in our prayers too.

Hugs,
Jana

Pizza! That's what we're having for dinner.

Maryz, never a dull moment around your place. Glad they were able to fix it before it went boom. Gas leaks are so dangerous. I dealt with many in my career as did my DH.

Jana, How do you not just spend all your time hugging that cute little Ethan. If it were up to the children, things would be so much better. My son said he really felt the quake yesterday. He left work to check on the dogs and then went back. They were fine.

Well I check on my parents today. They are supposed to get groceries delivered today. Hope they are able to get what they need. Otherwise I will be shopping for them. I'm trying to stay out of the public as much as possible. Well the boys have been walked. Now it's time to tidy up a bit before I sew. I got my cutter yesterday afternoon. I cut up a bunch of things to sew. That will keep me busy for a day or so.

Have a lovely day.

Good morning!
Mary, all that action going on! On that exercise, is it for your right side sciatica or your left side? Just asking because if it's your right side I'll opposite it cause mine is my left side killing me.
Becca, I'm so glad you were able to get your shot in your car!
Jana, Ethan's prayers are perfect. Glad all is ok at your house and no damage.
Lori, I hope your parents order is complete so you don't have to go out.
I'm sewing down my last March lotto block and then I'm moving on to the UGRR blocks. I think I'll load a quilt and take turns of standing and sitting plus my outside things and regular stuff around the house.
I found another free pattern LOL I think I need a warehouse sized sewing room! I'm really love Jordan's Fabrics and their free patterns and YouTube videos to go along with!
Frankie's sister called last night, they want to get together tonight, I'm hoping we go over there so I don't have to disinfect my house again LOL I'll just scrub me down ready for surgery washing 😊
Frankie has today and Monday thru Thursday of next week and then he'll be retired again.
I'm thinking we might help out our favorite Mexican restaurant tonight by ordering take out. Our Governor has shut everything down except pick up or drive through, all gyms are closed, everything except grocery stores.... not sure how the banks are doing it.
Stay at home, stay safe, wash hands.

Good afternoon from partly sunny, nice and warm, SW. Pa....As Becca said, Spring has sprung and it's most welcome......

Oh Mary, can you hold it down a little...My heavens girl, you're taking this entertainment stuff to the max...If it isn't Vicki, it's people trying to blow up something....I think I had told you, Kathy didn't make the trip...Between her mother and her kids telling her to stay home, she finally listened...But, you'd think she was right here the way she's been directing this move..She even got in touch with Comcast, have them coming to the new house tomorrow morning to hook everything up and got me a super deal..All the way from Reno!..But, what would I do without her, she is a wonder...Did you happen to see our little Irish lass on FB? Our baby isn't a baby any more, growing much too fast....I am so looking forward to being able to sit on my new little porch and eat out or just have my morning coffee....

Becca, I'm thinking you're right, spring has sprung and boy does it feel good....Glad you were able to get in and out so quickly, for your shot...Your family sounds a lot like mine...I get calls or messages all day asking if everything is OK...This morning, I told Terry I needed to pick up my RX and he almost had a fit...He'll stop and get it and anything else I need...Kathy told me, Dan and Casey will be down to carry stuff to the car or the basement, I'm not to get overly tired....It bothers me to depend on others but it is a good feeling to know someone is looking out for you....I have a feeling, we raised those kids right!

Jana, Please, please give Ethan a big hug from me....If we had more like him, the world would be a much better place...AND for sure you have raised your family the right way....Sure hope by now, things have quieted down and there's no more shaking...I've never experienced that and don't think I want too.....Oh my, your dinner sounds great...Another of Jim's favorite.....

Tina, sorry to hear you're hurting....Hearing what all you do, it would be pretty hard not to have something hurting...You gotta slow down, put those feet up and take a rest.....

I'm trying to finish up the packing and of course finding things I had forgotten about...You know all those plastic containers you keep that you might need someday???Well, mine multiplied and now I have lots of little ones to go with those big ones that I still haven't used...I am going to have "Jimmy the Junkman" stop over next week and pick up all the stuff I no longer want...AND just today, I called to have the VETS stop and get quite a few bags of clothes and some appliances...My old house is starting to look bare, lol.....I did hear from my realtor and all systems are go for the closing and she also told me, the closing will be done remotely and I won't have to leave the house.....Good things are happening and I'm sure we'll kick this nasty virus in the near future.....

For my dinner, I'm thinking egg salad sandwich and maybe a salad....Tomorrow, I want to make sloppy joes, potato salad and those elusive apple squares for my movers on Sat.

You all have a great day......Please stay safe and healthy......

Happy eating.................
