SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Feb 27

Good morning,
Another owl, another early morning. Sigh. Good thing I go to bed early!
Yesterday was all shopping. We left home at 9:45 and by the time we did all the shopping, carrying, packaging for the freezer, putting everything away, then prepping supper (which was grilled burgers and salad) I didn't sit down until after 4pm. Whew! But I think we're good for a while now. Today is clean the garage, move some shelving, and pack some of our overflow supplies on the shelf. Good thing it's going to be 55* and sunny today.
JANA - I don't think Bill enjoys doing the taxes, but he'd rather do them than have me do them. So I win!
You mentioned a Toyota RAV the other day. It's on our go-look-at list, too. Our kids bought one about 3 yrs ago and it seemed small but then the Camry seemed small when we got it. But for now, we're not even seriously looking yet. We love not making car payments and want to love that as long as possible!
The Camry is still going strong. How is Stu doing in his new place and his new job, with his new car?
TINA - I bet you were tired the other day! Have you thought about making a few meals ahead of time for your dad to freeze and reheat on days you are busy or not feeling well? That's one thing, after Mom died Daddy sort of bloomed in the kitchen. He seeemed to enjoy cooking for himself. It was mostly fried sausages and potatoes and jicama, I think, but it gave him something to talk about and something to have control over. He'd never cooked in his life before. It wasn't the healthiest diet, but at his age, he was allowed to eat what he wanted to eat. Now my oldest brother, age 85 in March, is learning to cook for him and his wife. An adventure for sure! Those boxes for your deep shelves that I was talking about yesterday - I used boxes from Costco that already have the fronts cut out. Works slick as snot! I use them back in the blind corner of my lower kitchen cupboards, too, and in the pantry shelves in the trailer to keep things corraled and not "shift in flight".
BECCA - brrrr!! That was a fast temp drop! Guess you might not be walking for a few days! Glad your eyes are good. No cataracts? Most people over 50 have them but it takes years before they interfere with vision and have to be removed. Though my DD had them about age 42. Praying for Hadlee. You say she goes back to dr again in about 2 weeks?
CHICKIE - I feel for any babies getting born out in that wet and muddy pasture! Hope they hold off and stay where it's nice and warm a while longer. A tax snafu! One of the worst kinds of snafus! We are still getting documents so We are in no rush to complete our taxes. Something always comes late. Hope you get into the sewing room today. Maybe I'll make that chicken tortilla soup next time I cook.
IRISH - I think I saw on FB that you flew home yesterday or today . . . . Sorry you had to leave the warm and sunny seashore, but just think of the fun awaiting you at home! Lovely, exciting chaos! New adventures! Kathy!
Tonite for supper we are going to Silverdale - 30 miles north of us - to meet our two grandsons, Drew & Alec, at an Italian restaurant called Veneto's. We haven't seen them since before Christmas so I'm excited to catch up on their lives. And just as excited to not be cooking! And tomorrow we're doing Happy hour With Gus & Claudia and Tex & Annette at the Mexican restaurant. I don't have to cook until Saturday!
