SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Feb 22nd

Good morning!
We were nearly 60* yesterday! It was awesome!!! Though we usually have a week in February of beautiful, unseasonably warm weather. And we usually also have a week of BRRRRR!!!! I was at chiro, grocery, mail, then came home and did laundry, uglies, and baked brownies. I did have a couple of hours of sewing in the early morning.
Today Kenn and Sue are coming for the day! Yay! They are always fun. I'm going to make chicken tetrazzini and ceasar salad with brownies and ice cream for dessert. It will be lunch, but will probably carry us all through suppertime as well. They live roughly 150 miles north of us, right at the Canadian border.
We had another Vicki show yesterday. She was out between our houses, dancing and chanting. We can't understand most of what she says, but Bill's name came through loud and clear! And later we heard what sounded like a loud shotgun blast. Looked out our window and saw she had started a fire in her driveway, about 36" in circumference. Column of black smoke rose up. She probably threw in an aerosol can or something like that. Bill did go check to make sure she didn't get hit by shrapnel of any kind and was laying on the ground but she was in the house by then. She starts fires to burn whatever she wants to burn - trash, flooring, furniture - but then leaves it to burn untended. So we do keep our eyes peeled.
JANA - I like everything emptied on trash day, too. Gives a clean slate for the new week and you just never know - it could be a big trash week ahead and I want lots of room! More skinnies. I don't think I have a St. Pat's day in my one book I have. I'd like another book but I have yet to make anything from the first book, so I don't deserve it - yet. Your chicken recipe sounds delish. I have a recipe I haven't made in years for chicken, rice, gravy all cooked in one pan in the oven. It's one my second hubby, Roy, brought into the family. He also had a recipe for oven BBQ'd short ribs that is AMAZING. I haven't made that in years either. It's hard to find the short ribs.
BECCA - hope your roads cleared so you could get to town. I hate washing cars. I'm so short that I can't get the top of them. I used to use the mop to reach across the roof! lol
CHICKIE - your Dog in Sweaters quilt will be so cute! But that's a lot of pieces per block! It's an Elizabeth Hartman pattern, isn't it? I do like her stuff and have several of her patterns but not that one. It's a snap for you to have everything finished by April! You can really put that pedal to the metal when you have to. When in April is the shower?
TINA - glad you enjoyed the quilt show but bummed that you are sick with an ear infection. Or is it a different diagnosis? Hope you feel better with 2 days off. You need to put Do Not Disturb sign on your door!
Well, I already told you about our supper. Last night, though, I made a pizza crust then topped half of it with leftover alfredo sauce and half with Sweet Baby Rays' BBQ sauce. Added chicken, olives, mushrooms, and mozzarella. Bill really loved both halves!
What will be making your mouth water tonite?
