Good morning,

No rain coming down! Though there's lots of old rain laying all over our grass and driveway! lol! But we are supposed to start in again by mid-morning. Sigh. They say this is the last storm before a long 5-day dry spell. Whoopee!

Yesterday was massage - ahhhhh ...... After that I pulled all my flannel scraps out to start piecing the back for my Jan. lotto quilt. (picture posted in Photos). Since it's sort of an I spy, I figure the back can be the same - lots of different fabrics to look at! At the price of fabric, I just can't throw out scraps! Eventually I find a place to use them.

Bill finished quilting my FGV so today I will trim that and make a binding and hopefully get it sewn on. And finish the pieced backing I already mentioned. It's a challenge to use up as many of my small scraps as possible. That's all I have planned. Bill asked me what quilt I wanted to go onto the frame next. I think there are about 7 choices. I must choose wisely because the weather will eventually break and he'll be done with quilting for a while again.

CHICKIE - Now I'm cold, after reading your post! I'm loving the description of all the cattle, though. I've always loved cattle. We had one little steer growing up named Skeezicks that would lay in the pasture on sunny days and we would lean up against him and read books. He seemed to like it. If you are all caught up you could get a head start on your next Christmas sewing. . . .

BECKY - what a weather mess you are living in! I wish we had more snow here but after reading your post - maybe I don't.

JANA - no - Bill hasn't seen the heart Cheerios! But then it's winter and we eat oatmeal in winter. We better go buy a box! Hope your weather is calming down a bit, too. Glad you've got your spring cleaning to give you thoughts of spring on these snowy days!

We are still plugging away on that pork roast. Tonight will be BBQ pork sandwiches. I'm sure Bill will choose that over pozole.

What's your choice going to be?

Good morning! For some reason, there is no sun today. It is 31 degrees, and the weather app says we are having a snow shower. Radar image shows it as well. Must be upper levels, as at the moment it is not hitting the ground, and that’s o.k. with me. The clouds look heavy and ready to unload, so I’m hoping it all stays put and doesn’t fall! We should make it to the 40s again today. Yesterday was chilly cool—low 40s, but it seemed so much better with the sun shining. I get sad and morose if I don’t see my sun!

The birds were all lined up on the deck rails and little trees off the deck waiting to be fed when I got dressed. I fed them before I made my coffee, cleaned the floors and did my work out. Looks like they have everything cleaned up and ready for second course! We made a quick run to town for birdseed yesterday (along with chain saw bar and chain oil).

My sewing plans changed yesterday. While we were having brunch, DS3 arrived with an armload of mending—jeans and a heavy coat. It was all my machine could handle. It keep locking up with “motor overload” trying to get through the heavy layers. But, I got ‘er done! When I walk today, I’ll put everything in a big sack and deliver them.

Mary—I could get started on my Christmas sewing. I’ve already started my lists! I’m playing with some other things that were kinda UFOs or scraps from other projects. They may get turned into Christmas eventually.

Becky—I hope you warm up and dry out!

Even dinner plans changed. I remembered that Wednesday DH thought he smelled cornbread cooking only to be disappointed. So, I got out some Bob’s Red Mill 13 bean soup mix, added chopped ham, shredded cabbage and diced tomatoes and threw it all into a pot in the oven where it simmered until supper. I also made cornbread. DH was a happy eater last evening! And, because I have trouble figuring out how much to make for two… we have LOTS of bean soup and cornbread for several more meals. I love no cooking!

Have a great day! Bon appétit!

Good morning!

We too have no sun, just snow clouds, stretching across the whole valley. The "they" missed another forecast, no snow for today, but guess what, yep, it's snowing! Oh well, I might go out anyway, as it isn't snowing very hard.

Dinner - baked chicken over a bed of stuffing, covered in gravy. I love one pan meals!

Mary - hope the water soaks in, so you can turn the rig around to get out. Love the new lotto quilt you finished. I should do a I Spy type quilt for my little Baden. He turns 4 on the 17th and would enjoy such a quilt.

Chickie - we are having birds line up here too. But they are very pesty birds - pigeons! A nearby neighbor was raising them to sell to restuarants, but some got loose and have taken up residency under the solar panels across the street at my niece's house. Sandee has hired a company to put chicken wire to deny access, but that has to wait until it is safe to be on the roof. She has a large 2 story home. Hopefully this will help.

Time to get something done,

Enjoy!
Jana

Good afternoon from a "Winter Wonderland"...... This is our 1st real snow of the season and it really is gorgeous....We had rain yesterday, then sleet and then snow all night and this morning, there is a good 6 inches and more coming down....All the schools are closed and the kids are all having a blast...It's a heavy snow, great for snowmen and snow ball battles.....Just hoping, with the weight, we don't have lines come down...And as pretty as it is, now it can all be gone....I've had enough and if I need more, I can look at the pictures I've taken......

Mary, will have to skip over and check out your latest quilt which I'm sure is gorgeous...When I hear you say, you've had or are going to get a massage, I think, OK, time to make that appointment and then never do...BUT, today, I really could use one...I took stripped my bed and of course last night was too lazy to dress it so Baby Girl and I crawled into the big bed and today I'm "bent out of shape"....Didn't seem to bother the fur baby at all...I'm trying to get the bedrooms done, all ready for Kathy and company....Thank goodness she wasn't due today, she'd have a long wait for me to pick her up, even if I do have a great "go in the snow" car.....
Yesterday, I had written up a nice long post and I have no idea where it landed..But, the other day, you had asked if my sister had RV parking...She has more than enough on her 14 acres and I have a feeling, she's already planning her menus..So between my place and her's, we might just keep you....I took her to the doctor and only after 2 weeks, Dr. Hunk released her and she's good to go....

Becca, I'm hoping the storm has quieted down in your neck of the woods...We didn't have that much flooding around here but I'm sure there are some areas that got hit...But, this snow sure is something...I did see on the news, it was just 10 years ago when the big snow hit this area but thank goodness I missed it, I was in Florida....But, this time of year, you just never know...Be safe......

Jana, You just had to send us some of that white stuff, didn't you? OK, that's enough, now we'd like the sun and warm breezes....

Chickie, I think my stomach did flip flops when I saw the word Christmas in your post....What's funny, my boxes are still sitting on the back porch and just the other day, I was visiting a gal friend and some of her outside trees are still decorated...But, the idea of starting your Christmas sewing, oh my!

I really need to get hopping...I have clothes in the dryer that has to be folded and still need to run the vacuum upstairs but then, I guess, tomorrow is another day....I don't have to leave for the airport until about 3:00..It's going to be a good week, having her and then Cari and Lena...AND then I leave for Florida...And I'm still thinking about the house, so hopefully, with everyone around, I'll get some advice or someone will point me in the right way....I keep telling them, they help me decide or I'll just buy a place while I'm in Florida.....

For dinner, that's kind of up in the air....I'm back on the skimpy eating so it might be a poached egg and toast....I might just break down and make some cinnamon rolls (we just won't tell the doctor)......

You all have a great day....Please stay safe......

Happy eating..................
