SUPPER CLUB - Wednesday, Jan 29
Good morning,
"Pink cat food thingies"?? Really?? Guess I need to add another rule to Supper Club and that would be to remember the rules!! No cat food unless you are a cat!
Sorry about the second Monday this week. I know how everyone loves Mondays . . .
LORI - I Googled Appliquick and watched the video. Looks like a cross between various methods, freezer paper, fusible, and needleturn with some handy new little tools! Many years ago when I did my very first applique I was at sea. No U-tube in those days, no QIAD forum. I did 5 large snowmen onto blocks and used paperbacked fusible. But I didn't know I should remove the paper. lol! That paper is still in there! I've never washed the quilt as it's small and only out at Christmas time.
IRISH - I'm wondering about the French style pizza, too. Know you are spending these last few days with Nick so we won't bother you until after Friday!
CHICKIE - you have babies popping all over! Cow babies, people babies, . . . If you had a cat, you'd be having cat babies, too! (BTW, Shirley Mae needs a home for her tuxedo, Domino . . . I would take her but it's just too far away. Hint, HINT!
JANA - sometimes we need to spin our wheels a bit before we get a good grip on solid ground and make some progress. Did you get your hearts fixed how you want them?
BECCA - you rarely miss a day without stopping in to say hi. Hope you are feeling OK and that UTI didn't get you down.
I finished my CCC blocks, though I made some mistakes on the last block and had to take it apart and make repairs. I was in a rush because I wanted to get it finished before we had to leave for lunch and an afternoon of cribbage at our friends' house. I should have left well enough alone. I even told Bill, 'if I'm going to make a mistake, now is the time I'll be doing it.' And sure enough! FOUR mistakes in one little 8" block!
We will be gone most of today -- in fact, leaving the house in less than an hour so I've got to put some hustle in my bustle - so not too much sewing will be done. But when I get back to it, I'll start my sashing/cornerstones, plus my Baby Bunny Quilt is done so I need to make binding for that. Probably not today, though.
Suppertime! (here is where I always picture Snoopy dancing with his supper dish on his head!). I have a ziti dish in the freezer. I'm going to pull that out and we'll have a tossed salad to go with. No experiments tonite!
What will you be pulling out?

Good morning!
Mary - meow! Purr purr! Have a safe journey this morning.
Part of spinning my wheels in the Batt Cave, was I would get cold. My sewing area is between two large windows, which convected the cold in. But, Mr Engineer, grabbed a old moving blanket, which is quite thick, and quilted, and stuffed it in the window, over the curtain rod. It worked! My area stayed warm, which meant I did too! My choice, to stay warm or see, I want to be warm! Quoting Stu when he was little.
I did get the hearts redone last night. Even have the top assembled now, ready for the piano key border this morning. Michael has a conference work call, so I will head down to the Batt Cave while he is busy.
Dinner - something simple, fried rice and spring rolls.
Enjoy!
Jana

Good morning!
I keep getting lost, I start reading and then have to do things, sometimes I make it back and read more and sometimes not
and I don't even have any baby cows taking up my time!
Mary, sorry about the oops.... that happens to me when I try to hurry too.
Jana, glad you're warm again.
I've got ugly uglies to do today and tomorrow. Friday I'm having 20 over for Mexican food, one of my nephews father died and he's coming for the funeral and we haven't seen him in about 15 years so he requested real Mexican food. His wife is coming with him too and I'm looking forward to meeting her in person, we've text and face timed and she seems really nice.
I'm going to see if I have any forbidden food for supper tonight and roast veggies.
Dad overdid it Monday and was wiped out yesterday, I hope he had a restful night and is doing better today. He's wanting to go outside because we've been having really nice days but he's not allowed to.

Hello everyone cloudy
Maryz The UTI got me I had to give up Just hope the med works
If I try to hurry when sewing it messes up every time Stay safe on the roads
Jana Being warm is much more important to me I do love seeing out but sure don’t want to be cold I will put my snuggle on at night
Tina Wow 20 is a lot to feed Glad Dad is feeling better
Yesterday the UPS delivered a huge package & we hadn’t ordered anything
When CA opened the box I started hunting for note It was a huge box of Boost from our DGS that lives in NY for his Papaw
He said Papaw told him at Christmas that it made him feel better I thought it was really sweet & thoughtful of him
I am not being productive Mostly sitting doing hand work Tired of this But glad for med Don’t know what we may have I have steak thawed for CA
Happy eating. Becca

Good morning! We have a light coating of snow with some ice under it. Definitely not my fun thing to wake up to see! But, I guess it’s Winter after all. I still prefer the days of 50+ degrees we had on the weekend.
Yes, it does seem to be early for calves. Apparently the bull stayed in the pasture too long or got there early… who knows? DS1 is in charge of that! Mary—we saw a tuxedo kitty when we were walking. If it should stop at my house… you know I have yummy food for it! I’m not sure how Boomer and Odie would be accepting. Odie liked Boney Maroney when he was the only dog. Right now, cats are things to chase.
Irish—I would LOVE your French-style pizza!!! Yum, yum, yum!!! Now I want to make that for me and plain pepperoni for DH.
Lori—next time I appliqué, I may try that—will need to get some super lightweight, only-on-one-side fusible. Have you tried it yet? Inquiring minds want to know!!!
Mary—I make the most mistakes when I’m in a hurry to finish, too. I think it’s some kind of Murphy Law for Quilters.
Jana—your dinner sounds yummy!!! Are your spring rolls fried or the Vietnamese ones? They are both delicious! I love warmth, but I need to have the natural light to see to sew. I just add layers and look like the Michelin Man’s wife! Once when I was out in the muck and mud in my boots, I lost one pulling it out, and my foot came out so fast I lost my balance. It was not a pretty sight. Thankfully, we have no neighbors as I stripped outside and got everything gathered up for the laundry without tracking inside.
Tina—that happens to me all the time. I start here and get interrupted and never get back. So far I don’t have any bucket calves! I just need to check and see everyone is o.k. I wonder if you would notice if I came for dinner Friday with the rest of the crowd! You are going to be busy, Girl! I’m sure your dad is having a bad case of cabin fever—especially if your weather has been nice!
Becca—there you are! So sorry you have been ill, and I do hope your meds work! FAST!!! What a sweet gift from your DGS!
Dinner tonight… DH has leftover cat food. I might have soup. This is definitely soup weather. What kind of soup… maybe tortilla chicken.
I’m off to clean up my sewing room! Bon appétit!

Good morning ladies.
We have ice and snow, and part of us are down with something.....not sure what, doesn't feel like flu, but we are mostly all hibernating. Dinner will be something light. Last night was the same.
Have a nice day....Becky

Mary, isn't that always the case. You try and finish up only to realize you made an error and have to redo. That happens to me a lot when I rush. That is funny about your snowmen applique. Most of my attempts have been on my own from seeing in books or magazines. I don't normally watch youtube videos.
Jana, glad Mr Engineer was able to make it warmer for you.
Tina, I do that everyday. I read on my Kindle while having coffee and think I'll come back later to post.
Sometimes I do, sometimes I forget. Why can't your dad go outside?
Becca, how sweet of your DGS.
Chickie, yes I tried it and like it. Now to make something and wash it to see how it holds up. I tried some fusible I had, but it didn't work for me. So I bought the Appliquick fusible and it was very easy. I think I'm going to make up some butterflies.
Becky, Hope your clan feels better soon.
I've been for my walk. Now to do a few cleaning chores and get on with my day.
Last night we had tamales. I keep some in the freezer then I just need to steam them. Don't know about tonight yet. I do need to grocery shop, so I may pick something up.
Have a lovely day.

Chickie, ok pull up a chair and join in! You're always welcome ❤
Becky, I hope you all get to feeling better quickly!
Becca, oh how sweet of your DGS to do that! I hope you get to feeling better quickly too!
Lori, Dad can't go out in the bright sunlight because of the shingles.
Poor Dad had nightmares again last night, these were worse! He dreamt that he had a butcher knife cutting the shingles off! He woke up and got up and walked around a little and took some tylenol because the shingles are so painful and he wanted to get rid of the dreams so he relaxed a bit and then went back to bed and he said his dreams continued where they left off and he said in his dreams he was trying to find a place to hide the cut off shingles. It really shook him up.
